Immediate unitary fixed restoration with natural crown

Post extraction of anterior teeth, and in order to find the esthetics and the fundamental functions in the immediate future, there is an original technique whose aesthetic result is incomparable since the absence of teeth will be restored by the crown of the tooth to be replaced, and will be kept in place thanks to the composite reinforced glass fibres

Hall current and suction/injection effects on the entropy generation of third grade fluid

    Get PDF
In this work, effects of Hall current and suction/injection on a steady, viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting third grade fluid past a semi-infinite plate with entropy generation is investigated. It is assumed that the fluid motion is induced by applied pressure gradient. Hot fluid is injected with a constant velocity at the injection wall while it is sucked off at the upper wall with the same velocity. The governing equations of Navier-Stoke, energy and entropy generation obtained are non-dimensionalised, the resulting dimensionless velocity and temperature profiles are solved by Adomian decomposition technique due to the nonlinearity of the coupled system of equations. The obtained solution for the velocity profile is validated by the exact solution and the existing one in literature at M = 0 and the analytical expressions for fluid velocity and temperature are utilized to calculate the entropy generation and irreversibility ratio. Various plots are presented and discussed. It is found that increasing Hall current parameter increases primary velocity, temperature, entropy generation and Bejan number while the reverse trend is observed when both suction/injection and magnetic field parameters are increased. It is also noticed that entropy production at the upper wall is due to heat transfer

Interaction signatures and action templates in the ODP computational viewpoint

    Get PDF
International audienceIn this work we raise two issues that we came across when aiming to formalize both interaction signatures and action templates within the ODP computational viewpoint. We discuss these two concepts and present a way to formalize them by introducing a new term to formal descriptions of interaction signatures. In the same spirit as other works, our aim is to address issues concerning how concepts of the ODP computational viewpoint are currently defined as we present some solutions to their formalisation. If required, our work aim to serve as a step to help improve or change the current process of formalizing the ODP computational viewpoint concepts using the UML language

Towards a refinement of the open distributed systems interactions signatures

    Get PDF
International audienceThe ODP framework defines a set of concepts and an architecture for the construction of ODP systems in terms of five viewpoints. The computational viewpoint supports three models of interaction, each of which has an associated kind of computational interface: signals and signal interfaces, flows and stream interfaces, operations and operation interfaces. In this paper we address both the functional decomposition and constraints specification on interactions signatures. We show how to refine an operation signature into a signal signature. And finally, we use OCL to express constraints on interaction signatures refinements. The result is an UML model which can serve as a basis to define end-to-end QoS in open distributed systems, and the operation of multi-party binding and bindings between different kinds of interfaces (e.g. stream to operation interface bindings). That is, QoS require-ments on interactions in the computational viewpoint might be specified just using signals. We are investigating this issue

Cost-Eeffective Fabrication Processes Of The Absorber CUINSE2 (CIS) And The Buffer Cadmium Sulphide

This paper reports a study of direct heated substrate chemical bath deposited Cadmium Sulphide buffer films. Impact of multi-depositions on both film thickness and its crystallinity features were studied. The absorption coefficient and index refraction of CdS were also determined. The absorber CuInSe2 was grown by means of single-step electrodeposition. Structural analysis shows a quasi-amorphous films and morphological image shows a grained surface. This paper reports a study of direct heated substrate chemical bath deposited Cadmium Sulphide buffer films. Unexplained bleeding as a presentation of Munchausen syndrome: A case report

Physicians sometimes face difficulty identifying underlying diseases of some signs and symptoms created by individuals intentionally but without any apparent practical gain. This case report presents the clinical profile of a woman aged 22 years with a history of recurrent bleeding from the oral cavity since childhood, which has recently been worsened and now involves bleeding from the nose, eye, ear, and umbilicus. However, no physical or laboratory abnormalities could be identified. She had mental trauma in her childhood. After a comprehensive assessment that included a medical history, observation, physical examination, and psychiatric evaluation, she was diagnosed with Munchausen syndrome, which is a psychological condition where people pretend to be ill or deliberately produce symptoms of illness in themselves. She was treated with pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy and discharged from the hospital bleeding-free, which persisted till several follow-up visits.

‘Eternal convivencia’: From Madrid’s Painters of Africa to the School of Tetouan

The annual Pintores de África exhibitions, organised by Franco’s colonial administration in mid-twentieth-century Madrid, offered audiences a colourful feast of artistic representations of Spain’s colonial territories in Africa, and of Spain’s architectural legacy of al-Andalus. Foregrounding the ideological issues underpinning these exhibitions, this article evaluates the selection of artworks, the programme of events, exhibition catalogues, and reviews. Many writers discussed the artworks with reference to al-Andalus, echoing colonial propaganda. After Moroccan independence (1956), the exhibitions partly lost their purpose, but the memory of al-Andalus was repurposed by Moroccan cultural brokers for the fashioning of their post-colonial artistic identity. The last part of this article reveals the relations between the Painters of Africa exhibitions and the birth of the School of Tetouan. The article not only sheds light on the art, curation, and art writing that took place in the interstices between Spain and Morocco at the end of colonialism, but also illuminates the paradoxical processes underpinning the formation of artistic identity in post-independence northern Morocco. The case study is relevant to global perspectives in History of Art and refigures understandings of East–West relations with which we have become so familiar since Said’s Orientalism of 1978

Pseudarthrosis of the Carpal Scaphoid Treated with Non-Vascularized Corticocancellous Bone Graft

Objectives: To carry out an epidemiological study and to assess the evolutionary profile of patients with scaphoid non-union treated by anterior non-vascularized corticocancellous bone graft. Introduction: The non-union is a serious complication of carpal scaphoid fractures. Untreated, it leads to instability and osteoarthritis of the carp. The most used technique is that of Matti-Russe employing a corticocancellous graft. Materials and methods: We report in this retrospective study the experience of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Traumatology II, Mohamed V Military Hospital, Rabat, in the treatment of non-unions of the carpal scaphoid by anterior non-vascularized corticocancellous graft in nine cases collected between January 2012 and March 2016. We identified six cases of stage IIA and three cases of stage IIB. All our patients were operated by the Matti-Russian technique followed by an immobilization by plaster cast cuff on three months. Results: All our patients achieved a union within an average of three months. The Mayo Wrist score was excellent in 66.6% of cases. Our results were very satisfying in 90% of cases, satisfying in 10%. Conclusion: The treatment of non-unions of the carpal scaphoid without necrosis or osteoarthritis, using anterior non-vascularized bone graft remains the most widely used technique. The presence of initial instability is a factor of poor prognosis, its correction reduces the risk of arthritis
