Bifurcations in the Lozi map
We study the presence in the Lozi map of a type of abrupt order-to-order and
order-to-chaos transitions which are mediated by an attractor made of a

Emergence of hierarchical networks and polysynchronous behaviour in simple adaptive systems
We describe the dynamics of a simple adaptive network. The network
architecture evolves to a number of disconnected components on which the
dynamics is characterized by the possibility of differently synchronized nodes
within the same network (polysynchronous states). These systems may have
implications for the evolutionary emergence of polysynchrony and hierarchical
networks in physical or biological systems modeled by adaptive networks.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Measure of the size of CP violation in extended models
In this letter we introduce a possible measure of the size of CP violation in
the Standard Model and its extensions, based on quantities invariant under the
change of weak quark basis. We also introduce a measure of the ``average size''
of CP violation in a model, which can be used to compare the size of CP
violation in models involving extra sequential or vector-like quarks, or

Supernova Neutrino Oscillations
Observing a high-statistics neutrino signal from a galactic supernova (SN)
would allow one to test the standard delayed explosion scenario and may allow
one to distinguish between the normal and inverted neutrino mass ordering due
to the effects of flavor oscillations in the SN envelope. One may even observe
a signature of SN shock-wave propagation in the detailed time-evolution of the
neutrino spectra. A clear identification of flavor oscillation effects in a

Theoretical adequacy, methodological quality and efficacy of online interventions targeting resilience: a systematic review and meta-analysis
BACKGROUND: There is a growing interest in the promotion of mental health, and concepts as resilience are re-emerging and taking relevance. In addition, Information and Communication Technologies can provide potential benefits in the field of mental health, and the treatment of mental disorders in particular. This study aims to synthesize the evidence of internet-based resilience interventions, analyzing the theoretical adequacy, methodological quality and efficacy. METHODS: A systematic search was performed. The eligibility criteria stated for this article were: randomized controlled trials targeted at adults or adolescents and including any psychological intervention focussing on resilience in its rationale or design. Studies with direct (e.g. resilience scales) and proximal resilience measures (e.g. scales on well-being) were included. Risk of bias was assessed for each trial using Cochrane''s Collaboration Tool. Two reviewers worked independently in order to identify potential articles. A total of 11 articles were selected. A random-effects pooling model using the Hartung-Knapp-Sidik-Jonkman method based on direct and proximal resilience measures at post-test was used. RESULTS: The overall effects of online resilience training compared to control groups at post-test were not significant; the effect size concerning the improvement of resilience was g=0.12 (95% CI: -0.14 to 0.38). In addition, a potential association between the type of outcome and the effect size could be revealed. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the present meta-analysis showed that the overall effect of online resilience trainings was not significant. Nonetheless, a tendency for a higher benefit for resilience was found in the studies with a clear assessment theory, indicating some promising effects. CP--Violating Invariants in Supersymmetry
I study the weak basis CP-violating invariants in supersymmetric models, in
particular those which cannot be expressed in terms of the Jarlskog--type
invariants, and find basis--independent conditions for CP conservation. With an
example of the K-anti-K mixing, I clarify what are the combinations of
supersymmetric parameters which are constrained by experiment.Comment: matches the PRD versio
Jarlskog-like invariants for theories with scalars and fermions
Within the framework of theories where both scalars and fermions are present,
we develop a systematic prescription for the construction of CP-violating
quantities that are invariant under basis transformations of those matter
fields. In theories with Spontaneous Symmetry Breaking, the analysis involves
the vevs' transformation properties under a scalar basis change, with a
considerable simplification of the study of CP violation in the scalar sector.
These techniques are then applied in detail to the two Higgs-doublet model with
quarks. It is shown that there are new invariants involving scalar-fermion
interactions, besides those already derived in previous analyses for the
fermion-gauge and scalar-gauge sectors.Comment: 12 pages, Latex, no figure
Small violations of unitarity, the phase in Bs mixing and visible t->cZ decays at the LHC
We show that it is possible to accommodate the observed size of the phase in
--, mixing in the framework of a model with violation of
unitarity. This violation is associated to the presence of a new
isosinglet quark , which mixes both with and and has a mass
not exceeding 500 GeV. The crucial point is the fact that this framework allows
for of order , to be
contrasted with the situation in the Standard Model, where is
constrained to be of order . We point out that this scenario implies
rare top decays at a rate observable at the LHC and
significantly different from unity. In this framework, one may also account for
the observed size of -- mixing without having to invoke long
distance contributions. It is also shown that in the present scenario, the
observed size of -- mixing constrains
to be of order
, which is significantly smaller than what is allowed in generic

Searching for New Physics in Leptonic Decays of Bottomonium
New Physics can show up in various well-known processes already studied in
the Standard Model, in particular by modifying decay rates to some extent. In
this work, I examine leptonic decays of vector resonances of
bottomonium below production, subsequent to a magnetic dipole
radiative structural transition of the vector resonance yielding a pseudoscalar
continuum state, searching for the existence of a light Higgs-like neutral
boson that would imply a slight but experimentally measurable breaking of
