Development of a state feedback controller for the synchronous buck converter

    Get PDF
A digital control algorithm for a current-mode (CM) and a voltage-mode (VM) synchronous buck converter (SBC) is developed. In both cases, the design leads to a stable controller, even for a duty cycle larger than 50%. The desired output voltage and the transient response can be independently specified. Moreover, zero steady-state error in the output voltage can be obtained with the aid of additional dynamics. In both cases, the specification is done by pole placement using complete state feedback. A discrete-time model is used to design the feedback gains. Both the stability and the small-signal transient response are analyzed. In another paper (Oliva et al., 2003) the control algorithms are experimentally validated with a DSP-controlled SBC.Fil: Oliva, Alejandro Raul. “Strumenti” per lo sviluppo dell’attività ispettiva in aree archeologiche

One of the acquisitions of contemporary conservation philosophy is precisely this: you don’t restore the image but the matter of the work; restoration is first and foremost the conservation of the work’s authenticity. The task of conservation is not returning to an impossible past but rather enabling the work to be handed down to the future. From this standpoint, in today’s conservation language we speak of conservation: guaranteeing through our efforts that the work entrusted to us will still be available for the future, for ourselves and the generations to come, eliminating or slowing down the causes of deterioration that endanger it so that it can be enjoyed and used. The project, "Milan Archaeology for Expo 2015. Towards a valorization of the archaeological heritage of the city", intends - respect to these theoretical and methodological - to develop processes of knowledge and planned conservation of urban archaeological areas with coordinated maintenance actions, promotion and communication of the different sites present in Milan historic centre. All this sites will be connected in a network system built for a larger project that it will increase the accessibility and enhancement

A Sinful Reaction to Capitalist Ethics in No quiero quedarme sola y vacĂa (2006)

    Get PDF
In her article “A Sinful Reaction to Capitalist Ethics in No quiero quedarme sola y vacía (2006)” Celina Bortolotto analyzes how Lozada’s characterization of the main character, La Loca, questions the ideals of free agency offered by consumerist capitalism and the urban gay male ideal under the promise of a liberating gay lifestyle in a social context defined by identity politics. The novel is a fictionalized autobiographical account of Puerto Rican author Angel Lozada’s misadventures in the early 2000s gay scene in New York. This essay plays with the punitive sense of the word “capital” in the seven capital sins as a thematic thread to invite a reflection on the concepts of virtue and value constructed under U.S. Protestant capitalism: the former as emancipatory guilt; the latter as the specific status society grants to objects, practices and people creating, in turn, subjects whose value is purely economic versus those whose lives are deemed (morally) valuable in themselves

Study of H → WW(∗) events with the ATLAS detector

    Get PDF
The Higgs boson decay into WW(∗) is an interesting channel in a wide Higgs mass (mH) range. In particular the high Branching Ratio (BR) allows H → WW(∗) to be one of the most important channels for all the studies related to the Higgs boson properties. The fully leptonic final state of this channel provides a clear signature and allowed the observation of a Higgs boson with mH ∌ 125GeV in the data collected by ATLAS until 2012

JET ANALYSIS BY NEURAL NETWORKS IN HIGH ENERGY HADRON-HADRON COLLISIONS

We study the possibility to employ neural networks to simulate jet clustering procedures in high energy hadron-hadron collisions. We concentrate our analysis on the Fermilab Tevatron energy and on the k⊄k_\bot algorithm. We consider both supervised multilayer feed-forward network trained by the backpropagation algorithm and unsupervised learning, where the neural network autonomously organizes the events in clusters.Comment: 9 pages, latex, 2 figures not included

TCC(graduação) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Centro de CiĂȘncias JurĂdicas. Direito.

Opiate analgesics as negative modulators of adult hippocampal neurogenesis: potential implications in clinical practice

    Get PDF
During the past decade, studies of the mechanisms and functional implications of adult hippocampal neurogenesis (ahNG) have significantly progressed. At present, it is proposed that adult born neurons may contribute to a variety of hippocampal-related functions, including specific cognitive aspects and mood regulation. Several groups focussed on the factors that regulate proliferation and fate determination of adult neural stem/progenitor cells (NSC/NPC), including clinically relevant drugs. Opiates were the first drugs shown to negatively impact neurogenesis in the adult mammalian hippocampus. Since that initial report, a vast array of information has been collected on the effect of opiate drugs, by either modulating proliferation of stem/progenitor cells or interfering with differentiation, maturation and survival of adult born neurons. The goal of this review is to critically revise the present state of knowledge on the effect of opiate drugs on the different developmental stages of ahNG, as well as the possible underlying mechanisms. We will also highlight the potential impact of deregulated hippocampal neurogenesis on patients undergoing chronic opiate treatment. Finally, we will discuss the differences in the negative impact on ahNG among clinically relevant opiate drugs, an aspect that may be potentially taken into account to avoid long-term deregulation of neural plasticity and its associated functions in the clinical practice
