Az egészségügy gazdasági szerepe = Economic role of the health care sector
Az OTKA T 049504-es kutatási projektje keretében lefolytatott kutatás részben az egészségügynek a gazdaságra gyakorolt multiplikátor hatásával foglalkozik, részben pedig a rendszer belső forrásallokációs mechanizmusát tárja fel. A multiplikátor Keynes elméleti eszköze. | The research project of OTKA T 049504 is partly concerned with the multiplier effect in the health care and partly with the resource allocation in the health care system. The multiplier effect is the theorem of Keynes. He calculated and proved with the help of it the beneficial results of budgetary expenditures. In this research professor Bródy calls our attention to the erroneous idea that the result of budgetary subsidy and the incitement from deficit is fast. Nor is it correct to consider the multiplier effect to be a secular trend or at least such an effect that leads or might lead to higher growth. In spite of all these problems the regulatory activity of the state can rely on the multiplier calculated with due caution and appropriate interpretation at first approximation in case the calculation is based on recent and reliable data. One of the most often mentioned problems in connection with the health care financing is the shortage of financial resources. In this research our main focus is that the badly organized distribution between the health care systems and subsystems damages the efficient utilization of resources. Not only the health care fund is low but the existing fund is badly spent as well. We are also looking for answers what kind of interests occur in the different health care systems (general practitioners, inpatient and outpatient services and prevention) as a result of the present resource allocation
VÁLTOZÓ ÉRTÉKEK A TESTKULTÚRÁBAN, A MINDENNAPOS TESTNEVELÉS JELENTŐSÉGE A FIATALSÁG SZEMLÉLETFORMÁLÁSÁBAN I. rész = CHANGING VALUES IN BODY CULTURE; SIGNIFICANCE OF EVERYDAY PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN SHAPING YOUNG ADULTS’ VIEWS ON SPORTS AND HEALTH FIRST PART
The aim of our research is, through
the method of questionnaires, to find out how
important physical education (that is, P.E.
lesson) is for those questioned (elementary school
children, university students). Moreover, we also wish
to seek the opinion of parents about the importance
and necessity of the introduction of everyday physical
education. We have also studied the positive and
negative attitudes and their values among children that
are present among schoolchildren regarding everyday
physical education.
Students generally think that physical education is as
important as any other subjects, although boys consider
it to be more important than it is with girls (Pearson Chi-
Square=0.000). Those university students who have
regularly done sports during their high school years
generally do more sports during their university years,
too, thus positive transfer effect connects frequency of
doing sports, evaluation of efficiency and motivated,
regular sports activity. 70% of the parents agree with
the necessity of the introduction of everyday physical
education. Students agree significantly more with
the positive statements (for example: “I began doing
sports” (69.9%), “I became more skilful” (71.8%) “now
I know more kinds of sports” (75%)) connected to the
introduction of everyday physical education than with
negative ones (for example: “less time could be spent
on other things” (36.1%))

A város peremén. (A rozsdaövezet múltja és jelene Budapesten) = At the outskirts of the city. (Past and Present of the brownfield area in Budapest)
A barnamezős térség - ahol korábban elsősorban ipari tevékenység folyt - felméréseink szerint 68-70 km2-t foglal el Budapest közigazgatási területéből. Kutatásaink négy területre koncentrálódtak: bemutattuk az ipar mintegy 160 éves történetét, az ipari múlt örökségét (a környezeti szennyezettséget, az alacsony hatásfokú földhasználatot, a megüresedett területeket, a zavaros tulajdonviszonyokat, stb.), a korábbi funkciók spontán változásait (az új bevásárló központok, technológiai és ipari parkok megjelenését, az ipari műemlékek más célú - kulturális, lakás, stb. - felhasználását), és végül, a barnamezős területek rehabilitációjával foglalkozó, reménykeltő terveket. A barnamező megújítására irányuló erőfeszítések előtt hatalmas a kihívás. Mindazonáltal, ez a térség Budapest fejlesztésének fontos gazdasági tartaléka. | The brownfield belt of the Hungarian capital, where once large industrial production sites were located, comprises an area of 68-70 square kilometres. Our researches have been concentrated on four fields: to present the 160-year-long history of Budapest as an industrial city; the legacy of the industrial past (environmental pollution, the uneffected land use, empty areas, a messy ownership, etc.); the spontaneous changes of the former fuctions (appearence of new shopping centres, technological and industrial parks, industrial monuments used for cultural events, housing, etc.); and finally the promising plans that deal with the brownfields of Budapest. Any effort of brownfield rehabilitation in Budapest faces formidable challenges. However, this area could be promising for metropolitan development and become an important economic factor in the future

Béta-amiloid peptidek aggregációja és kölcsönhatása fehérjékkel; új neuroprotektív vegyületek alkalmazása az Alzheimer-kór megelőzésére = Beta-amyloid aggregation and interaction with proteins; novel neuroprotective compounds for prevention of Alzheimer's disease
In vivo, egysejt-elvezetéses elektrofiziológiai mérésekkel bizonyítottuk az új peptidmimetikumaink neuroprotektív hatását. | A new method was introduced for the preparation of toxic beta-amyloid (Abeta) 1-42 oligomers, these assemblies were characterized with physicochemical methods. Two families of novel neuroprotective peptidomimetics were found, these substances protect neurons against the toxic effect of Abeta in tg mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Both groups of the novel substances will be patented as putative drug candidates for AD treatment. A new ex vivo method was introduced for toxicity measurement of Abeta peptides (rat hippocampal slices, MTT-assay); this method proved to be suitable for activity measurement of the novel neuroprotective substances. Hippocampal slices were successfully used for measurement of neuronal plasticity (LTP) for demonstrating neurotoxicity of Abeta aggregates, applying multielectrode array (MEA) technique. The neuroprotective effect of our novel peptidomimetics was demonstrated also in vivo, using one-cell electrophysiology. Proteomic methods were used for identification of proteins interacting with Abeta peptides; these are mainly plasma membrane and intraneuronal (mitochondrial, endoplasmatic reticular and microtubular) proteins. Interaction of intracellular proteins with Abeta may play key role in AD pathogenesis. The role of Zn2+ ions in formation of toxic Abeta-aggregates was demonstrated. Zn2+-chelators (e.g. Perindopril) were neuroprotective in a tg-mouse model of AD. A new AD rat model was introduced using icv administration of synthetic Abeta oligomers
