Terapéutica bromatológica, a finales del siglo XIX.
We describe the master formulas made exclusively with foods included in the Form Bouchardat (1809 - 1866) from 1885. Of a total of approximately 136 formulas, the main “therapeutic groups” corresponded to the antiphlogistic (26.4%), stimulants (20.6%), tonic (12.5%), laxatives (12.5%) and tempering (8.8%). It also assesses the subsequent impact of these preparations to the development of functional food products and dietary concerns.Se describen las fórmulas magistrales elaboradas exclusivamente con alimentos incluidas en el Formulario de Bouchardat (1809 – 1866) del año 1885. LISA and LISA PathFinder, the endeavour to detect low frequency GWs
This is a review about LISA and its technology demonstrator, LISA PathFinder.
We first describe the conceptual problems which need to be overcome in order to
set up a working interferometric detector of low frequency Gravitational Waves
(GW), then summarise the solutions to them as currently conceived by the LISA
mission team. This will show that some of these solutions require new
technological abilities which are still under development, and which need
proper test before being fully implemented. LISA PathFinder (LPF) is the the
testbed for such technologies. The final part of the paper will address the
ideas and concepts behind the PathFinder as well as their impact on LISA.Comment: 25 pages, 21 figures, presented at the Spanish Relativity Meeting,

Authentication of Iberian dry-cured ham: New approaches by polymorphic fingerprint and ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry
Foods with high added value, such as Iberian dry-cured products, are susceptible to fraud. Many attempts have been made to differentiate the commercial/quality categories of Iberian dry-cured hams by analytical determinations. However, as discrimination by such means is not fully reliable, legislation to prevent fraudulent practice is based on administrative controls and certification. Here, new analytical approaches based on ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry (UHRMS) and crystallographic techniques applied to the lipid fraction, in combination with chemometrics, are studied. The results of the triacylglycerol profile determined by UHRMS and the fingerprint provided by the thermograms obtained by differential scanning calorimetry offer the promise of analytic discrimination of Iberian dry-cured ham categories. In addition, these determinations, in combination with chemometrics, may prove extremely useful to authenticate many foods containing high to moderate amounts of lipids
In-flight Diagnostics in LISA Pathfinder
LISA PathFinder (LPF) will be flown with the objective to test in space key technologies
for LISA. However its sensitivity goals are, for good reason, one order of magnitude less than those which LISA will have to meet, both in drag-free and optical metrology requirements, and in the observation frequency band. While the expected success of LPF will of course be of itself a major step forward to LISA, one might not forget that a further improvement by an order of
magnitude in performance will still be needed. Clues for the last leap are to be derived from proper disentanglement of the various sources of noise which contribute to the total noise, as measured in flight during the PathFinder mission. This paper describes the principles, workings and requirements of one of the key tools to serve the above objective: the diagnostics subsystem. This consists in sets of temperature, magnetic field, and particle counter sensors, together with generators of controlled thermal and magnetic perturbations. At least during the commissioning phase, the latter will be
used to identify feed-through coefficients between diagnostics sensor readings and associated actual noise contributions. A brief progress report of the current state of development of the diagnostics subsystem will be given as well.Peer Reviewe

The diagnostics subsystem on board LISA PathFinder and LISA
The Data and Diagnostics Subsystem of the LTP hardware and software are at
present essentially ready for delivery. In this presentation we intend to
describe the scientific and technical aspects of this subsystem, which includes
thermal diagnostics, magnetic diagnostics and a Radiation Monitor, as well as
the prospects for their integration within the rest of the LTP. We also sketch
a few lines of progress recently opened up towards the more demanding

En internet encontramos gran cantidad de información científico-técnica cuya validez no suele estar controlada por comités correctores. Para aprovechar estos recursos es necesario filtrar y facilitar el acceso del usuario a la información. En este artículo se expone la experiencia práctica en el desarrollo de una página WEB centrada en las actividades del grupo de investigación «Calidad Nutricional y Tecnología de los Lípidos». Los objetivos de esta página WEB fueron los siguientes: difusión de las actividades del grupo de investigación, aprovechar los recursos que ofrece internet y fomentar y facilitar su uso. Esta experiencia permitió presentar una metodología de trabajo eficaz para conseguir estos objetivos. Finalmente, se presentan un gran número de direcciones WEB agrupadas por apartados en el ámbito de los lípidos. Estas direcciones han sido rigurosamente seleccionadas, entre un gran número de referencias consultadas, siguiendo una serie de criterios que se discuten en este trabajo, para ofrecer aquellas que presentan un mayor interés práctico
