    Expanding FLew with a Boolean connective

    Full text link
    We expand FLew with a unary connective whose algebraic counterpart is the operation that gives the greatest complemented element below a given argument. We prove that the expanded logic is conservative and has the Finite Model Property. We also prove that the corresponding expansion of the class of residuated lattices is an equational class.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures in Soft Computing, published online 23 July 201

    State of the art in the determination of the fine structure constant and the ratio h/muh/m_\mathrm{u}

    Full text link
    The fine structure constant α\alpha and the ratio h/muh/m_{\mathrm{u}} between the Planck constant and the unified atomic mass are keystone constants for the determination of other fundamental physical constants, especially the ones involved in the framework of the future International System of units. This paper presents how these two constants, which can be deduced from one another, are measured. We will present in detail the measurement of h/mRbh/m_\mathrm{Rb} performed by atomic interferometry at the Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris. This type of measurement also allows a test of the standard model to be carried out with unparalleled accuracy.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1309.339

    Mujeres indígenas y desarrollo: las experiencias de tres mujeres guaraníes del noroeste argentino

    Get PDF
    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir y analizar la manera en que, desde la década de los noventa en adelante, las mujeres guaraníes asentadas en distintas comunidades rurales del Departamento San Martín, en la provincia de Salta, Argentina, fueron tomando contacto e involucrándose con políticas de desarrollo mediatizadas a través de la ONG conocida como Aretede por las siglas de Asociación Regional de Trabajadores en Desarrollo. Para mostrar la forma en que las mujeres indígenas perciben y se apropian del universo del desarrollo me centro en tres trayectorias de vida, a través de las cuales pretendo revelar cómo fue que esas mujeres se fueron articulando, forjando nuevas relaciones y posicionando con una serie de actores y agencias del desarrollo. La decisión de recuperar los puntos de vista de las mujeres indígenas acerca del desarrollo se vincula con el hecho de que gran parte de los análisis en América Latina han silenciado sus voces y agencias, contribuyendo a borrar sus experiencias. Con este fin prioricé sus puntos de vista sobre el desarrollo por encima de la forma en que las visibilizó el 'aparato' de desarrollo.The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the way that Guaraní women living in various rural communities in the San Martín Department, in the Salta province of Argentina, started contacting and getting involved in development policies from the 1990's onwards, which were publicized through the NGO known by the Spanish acronym of Aretede (Regional Association of Developing Workers). To show how the indigenous women perceived and came to appropriate the development universe, I focused on three life histories, through which I intend to reveal how these women developed, creating new relationships and positioning themselves with a series of development players and agencies. The decision to gather the indigenous women's viewpoints on development is linked to the fact that many of the analyses made in Latin America have silenced their voices and actions, which contributed to eradicating their experiences. Therefore, I prioritized their points of view on development, above and beyond the way the development "apparatus" made them visible.Fil: Castelnuovo Biraben, Natalia Sabrina. Atom interferometry based on light pulses : application to the high precision measurement of the ratio h/m and the determination of the fine structure constant

    Full text link
    In this paper we present a short overview of atom interferometry based on light pulses. We discuss different implementations and their applications for high precision measurements. We will focus on the determination of the ratio h/m of the Planck constant to an atomic mass. The measurement of this quantity is performed by combining Bloch oscillations of atoms in a moving optical lattice with a Ramsey-Bord\'e interferometer
