The effects of what media frame as news on public behaviours to politics have been discussed extensively in scholarly works, however, the possible solutions in relation to how newspapers framing stimulate conflict frame (behaviours) in ethnic leaders who rheostat the hearts and minds of ethnic groups, are still underexplored. Therefore, series of in-depth interviews on 26 ethnic group leaders were conducted and data were analyzed thematically using NVivo 10 software, to probe into the ethnic group leaders’ conflict frames in other to discover the possible solutions to the incessant ethnic conflicts in Nigeria and similar multiethnic and developing societies. The study found that the since the media and ethnic groups attitudes play part in the emergence and escalation of these conflicts, solutions rest mostly in the handling these two helixes. Specifically, the need for government to be proactive in the areas of amenities, empowerment and monitoring is expedient, while newspaper framing along with the ethnic groups’ actions need to be ethnic sensitive. [1] Nazarudin, Manajemen Startegik, NoerFikri Offset, 2020.Strategic management in the development of Islamic full day school institutions has main components, namely the first organizational environment analysis functions as an early detection and prediction of threats and opportunities, the second analysis of the organizational profile functions as a detection of organizational weaknesses and strengths, the third organizational strategy functions as the achievement of organizational goals.(Nazaruddin 2020). This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The results of the study show that in strategic management in the development of Islamic full day school institutions in the era of artificial intelligence, there are three things that must be considered, first, strategic management, this process requires a SWOT analysis, carried out thoroughly on the internal and external environment of the school, identifying strengths , weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to future education related to the use of technology. This analysis will facilitate the preparation of the vision and mission as well as targets and programs. Next Second. Institutional Development Strategy, requires a Strategic Plan (RENSTRA), which is a document that contains long-term and short-term goals for future education in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. The plan includes specific steps to be taken to integrate future education into the day-to-day activities of the school. And it is necessary to pay attention to the strengthening of fundamentals, strengthening existence and building partnerships and communities. The three Quality Assurance Systems are carried out in a consistent and consistent manner in institutional development, so that the institution is automatically a quality institution. In accordance with the provisions of the ministry of education and culture, the quality assurance system is organized by internal institutions or known as the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) and which is held by the Government as the main person in charge of the education quality system or the External Quality Assurance System (SPME)

The influence the exogenous hormone on flowering and fruiting of strawberry was conducted at the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) station in Cameron Highlands. Factorial experiment with three replications was designed in randomized completed block design (RCBD) where two factors, cultivars and exogenous hormone were used. Two strawberry cultivars, Camarosa and Camaroga cvs., were grown under green house and treated with 0 and 50 ppm of auxin (IBA), gibberellins acid (GA3) or cytokinin (6-BA) either singly or in combination by foliage application. The results showed that, there are significant different between the mean of flowering parameter, percentage of fruit set and average of fruit weight among the two cultivars. The result also showed that the number of the flowers per plant was greatly increased by about 138% comparing with the control plants when treated with 50 ppm GA3. 6-BA and IBA shows an antagonized effect on the role of GA3 in producing the flowers. The percentage of fruits set had increased by about 97.24 % and 81.5 % after treated with IBA and GA3, respectively. Combined application of GA3+6BA had increased the fruit weight by 33.85% compared with the control plants. The result also indicated that these two cultivars of strawberry response differently to the exogenous hormones in the producing flowers and fruits. The first bud of the plant treated with IBA+6-BA formed to flower as compared with the plants treated with GA3. The result obtained from of the present study could be used to control the flowering and fruiting of strawberry. Keywords: Strawberry, exogenous hormone, flowering, fruiting

    Get PDF
Sweet Sorghum is similar to racemose maize with about 3m height and 0.5-3cm thickness of stalk. Sweet Sorghum has sweet flavor stalk, which is used for sugar production. Developed cutting mechanism in this research has a rotary disk with 50 cm diameter and four cutting blades that spin clockwise. The stalks are cut with the impact and inertia forces at the linear velocity of 27 m/s, by cutting blades. This system has a simple bar mechanism guiding the whole-stalk to one side. The cutting quality tests were achieved by two series of blades with 30°and 45° blade angles on the stalk. The results showed that the stalk cutting surface with 30° blade angle was smooth and without fracture on filaments and vasculums, compared to that of 45° blade angle. Blade penetration was accomplished very well with 30° blade angle

Inhibition of Hedgehog signaling sensitizes NSCLC cells to standard therapies through modulation of EMT-regulating miRNAs

Abstract Background Epidermal growth factor receptor- tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) benefit Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, and an EGFR-TKIi erlotinib, is approved for patients with recurrent NSCLC. However, resistance to erlotinib is a major clinical problem. Earlier we have demonstrated the role of Hedgehog (Hh) signaling in Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal transition (EMT) of NSCLC cells, leading to increased proliferation and invasion. Here, we investigated the role of Hh signaling in erlotinib resistance of TGF-β1-induced NSCLC cells that are reminiscent of EMT cells. Methods Hh signaling was inhibited by specific siRNA and by GDC-0449, a small molecule antagonist of G protein coupled receptor smoothened in the Hh pathway. Not all NSCLC patients are likely to benefit from EGFR-TKIs and, therefore, cisplatin was used to further demonstrate a role of inhibition of Hh signaling in sensitization of resistant EMT cells. Specific pre- and anti-miRNA preparations were used to study the mechanistic involvement of miRNAs in drug resistance mechanism. Results siRNA-mediated inhibition as well as pharmacological inhibition of Hh signaling abrogated resistance of NSCLC cells to erlotinib and cisplatin. It also resulted in re-sensitization of TGF-β1-induced A549 (A549M) cells as well the mesenchymal phenotypic H1299 cells to erlotinib and cisplatin treatment with concomitant up-regulation of cancer stem cell (CSC) markers (Sox2, Nanog and EpCAM) and down-regulation of miR-200 and let-7 family miRNAs. Ectopic up-regulation of miRNAs, especially miR-200b and let-7c, significantly diminished the erlotinib resistance of A549M cells. Inhibition of Hh signaling by GDC-0449 in EMT cells resulted in the attenuation of CSC markers and up-regulation of miR-200b and let-7c, leading to sensitization of EMT cells to drug treatment, thus, confirming a connection between Hh signaling, miRNAs and drug resistance. Conclusions We demonstrate that Hh pathway, through EMT-induction, leads to reduced sensitivity to EGFR-TKIs in NSCLCs. Therefore, targeting Hh pathway may lead to the reversal of EMT phenotype and improve the therapeutic efficacy of EGFR-TKIs in NSCLC patients
