De l’envers des mots au discours muet : danse et langage dans le théâtre de William Butler Yeats et de Wole Soyinka

Le présent article se concentre sur les rapports ambigus entre langage et danse dans les pièces de théâtre de William Butler Yeats et de Wole Soyinka, et ce dans une perspective essentiellement textuelle. La danse, telle qu’elle est décrite dans les didascalies et fait l’objet de commentaires de la part des personnages, est tantôt présentée comme « illisible », inaccessible à la pensée et au verbe, tantôt comme un véhicule de significations qui se mue souvent en message dissident. Les pièces de Yeats et de Soyinka comportent ainsi une vision double de la danse, aussi bien perçue comme asémantique et de l’ordre d’un anti-discours que comme contre-discours. L’opposition entre ces deux dynamiques n’est en réalité qu’apparente si l’on considère qu’elles sont des manifestations distinctes de la puissance de résistance du corps dansant, récalcitrant à se voir réduit à un simple « site d’inscription » passif (Reed, 1998).This article focuses on the ambiguous relationship between language and dance in the plays of William Butler Yeats and Wole Soyinka, from a textual point of view. Dance, as it is mentioned in the stage directions or the characters’ comments, is sometimes presented as “unreadable” and unreachable by language and thought, while at other times, it stands out as a meaningful medium which often transmutes into a dissident message. Thus, Yeats’s and Soyinka’s plays bear witness to a dual vision of dance, which is simultaneously perceived as a non-discursive oddity and as a form of counter-discourse. The discrepancy between these two trajectories is in fact only apparent if one considers that they both correspond to manifestations of the power of resistance of the dancing body, which refuses to be reduced to a passive “site of inscription” (Reed, 1998)

Dance and Dissidence in Wole Soyinka’s Plays: From Status Quo to Revolution

In Wole Soyinka’s plays, dance reveals an open conception of African identity, namely a fluid, perpetually evolving one which leaves room for metamorphosis and change. As the symbol of transition, dance is often invested with revolutionary potential, pointing the way to a new dawn, out of an existential and political status quo. La literatura económica de las últimas décadas ha enfatizado la necesidad de rescatar el círculo virtuoso existente entre la educación, la distribución del ingreso y el desarrollo económico. La educación está directamente relacionada con la productividad, los niveles de ingreso y la probabilidad de empleo de las personas y, por lo tanto, con el crecimiento económico y la distribución de sus resultados. Esta reducción en las desigualdades distributivas, consecuencia esperable de una población con mayores y mejores niveles educativos, constituye una condición necesaria para el crecimiento y el desarrollo de los países, al volver una realidad el potencial productivo de sus recursos humanos. Este libro es el resultado de un año de investigación dedicado a identificar y a ofrecer un diagnóstico sobre el estado de situación de los egresados de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario, en lo que respecta a los múltiples aspectos que surgen de la relación educación-empleabilidad-empleo. Así, en lo que respecta análisis de la calidad, la diversidad y la actualidad de su oferta educativa, se ha evaluado la capacidad de la UNR para generar graduados en relación a otras universidades nacionales y privadas. Pero el estudio no se detiene solo en los factores internos de la universidad. Quien se gradúa necesita de un entorno para poder emplearse y el libro aborda los mecanismos e instituciones que brinda la ciudad de Rosario, para facilitar la transición al mundo del trabajo. Epigenetic downregulation of TET3 reduces genome-wide 5hmC levels and promotes glioblastoma tumorigenesis

Loss of 5‐hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) has been associated with mutations of the ten–eleven translocation (TET) enzymes in several types of cancer. However, tumors with wild‐type TET genes can also display low 5hmC levels, suggesting that other mechanisms involved in gene regulation might be implicated in the decline of this epigenetic mark. Here we show that DNA hypermethylation and loss of DNA hydroxymethylation, as well as a marked reduction of activating histone marks in the TET3 gene, impair TET3 expression and lead to a genome‐wide reduction in 5hmC levels in glioma samples and cancer cell lines. Epigenetic drugs increased expression of TET3 in glioblastoma cells and ectopic overexpression of TET3 impaired in vitro cell growth and markedly reduced tumor formation in immunodeficient mice models. TET3 overexpression partially restored the genome‐wide patterns of 5hmC characteristic of control brain samples in glioblastoma cell lines, while elevated TET3 mRNA levels were correlated with better prognosis in glioma samples.
