ABP integral en histología (teoria i pràctiques), una experiència amb èxit a la Facultat de Medicina

A la nostra Unitat tenim la responsabilitat de dues assignatures de la Llicenciatura de Medicina: (1) Histologia Mèdica (HM), semestral, troncal de 1r curs de 4,5 crèdits (3 crèdits teòrics i 1,5 crèdits pràctics). Al curs 2006-07 es varen matricular 387 estudiants. (2) Estructura Microscòpica d'Aparells I Sistemes Humans (EMASH), anyal, troncal de 2n curs de 9 crèdits (4,5 crèdits teòrics i 4,5 crèdits pràctics. Al curs 2006-07 es varen matricular 298 estudiants.En els darrers anys el nostre objectiu ha sigut migrar des de un mètode docent tradicional de classes magistrals fins a un mètode tipus ABP (Aprenentatge Basat en Problemes) integral (teoria i pràctiques), que a més a més seguís les directius del Protocol de Bolònia per tal d'integrar aquestes assignatures a un nou programa docent de la Llicenciatura a l' EEES (Espai Europeu d'Educació Superior)

Business Telephone Traffic Demand in Spain; 1980-1991, An econometric Approach

In this paper we use a theoretical model for the demand of telecommunication services to derive econometric models of the business demand for telephone traffic in Spain for the period 1980-1991. Using quaterly data, we estimate separate equations for the different types of toll traffic: local, long distance, national and international. We use cointegration techniques to obtain long run and short run equations, both estimated separately in two steps and jointly, in one step. A battery of diagnostics is applied to each of the equations, Price and output elasticies agree with previous findings and could be used for analizing the revenue effects of changes in tariffs and medium term forecasting of traffic and revenues

Involvement of several transcriptional regulators in the differential expression of tfd genes in Cupriavidus necator JMP134

Cupriavidus necator JMP134 has been extensively studied because of its ability to degrade chloroaromatic compounds, including the herbicides 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and 3-chlorobenzoic acid (3-CB), which is achieved through the pJP4-encoded chlorocatechol degradation gene clusters: tfdCIDIEIFI and tfdDIICIIEIIFII. The present work describes a different tfd-genes expression profile depending on whether C. necator cells were induced with 2,4-D or 3-CB. By contrast, in vitro binding assays of the purified transcriptional activator TfdR showed similar binding to both tfd intergenic regions; these results were confirmed by in vivo studies of the expression of transcriptional lacZ fusions for these intergenic regions. Experiments aimed at investigating whether other pJP4 plasmid or chromosomal regulatory proteins could contribute to the differences in the response of both tfd promoters to induction by 2,4-D and 3-CB showed that the transcriptional regulators from the benzoate degradation pathway, CatR1 and CatR2, affected 3-CB- and 2,4-D-related growth capabilities. It was also determined that the ISJP4-interrupted protein TfdT decreased growth on 3-CB. In addition, an ORF with 34% amino acid identity to IclR-type transcriptional regulator members and located near the tfdII gene cluster module was shown to modulate the 2,4-D growth capability. Taken together, these results suggest that tfd transcriptional regulation in C. necator JMP134 is far more complex than previously thought and that it involves proteins from different transcriptional regulator families. Habilidades argumentativas en contextos digitales escolares de nivel superior

The aim of this work is to descibe a set of strategies of appropriation of arguments in the dialogic processes of checking information and its recovery in specific written texts. The study is based in the description and analysis of the requested texts to three groups of college students in the area of Humanities in a mexican university, developed in the frame of the online courses through the educative platform of Google (G-Suite), with the purpose of watching the increasing of complexity of tasks in writing and its vinculation with the exploitation of voices that show the arguments of an academic text. The results show that this procedures are not completely progressives nor homogenous but they present different grades of complexity that can be analyzed since three axiss of development: 1) the adecquation of the dialogicity to the ambit of the academic writing, 2) the improvement of the argumental precision beginning with the processes of comparison and 3) the development of critical thinking to achieve an own declarative ranking in the texts.El objetivo de este trabajo es describir un conjunto de estrategias de apropiación de argumentos en los procesos dialógicos de revisión de información y su recuperación en textos escritos específicos. El estudio se basa en la descripción y análisis de textos solicitados a tres grupos de estudiantes universitarios del área de Humanidades en una universidad mexicana, desarrollados en el marco de cursos en línea a través de la plataforma educativa de Google (G-Suite), con la finalidad de observar el aumento de complejidad de tareas de escritura y su vinculación con el aprovechamiento de voces que muestran los argumentos de un texto académico. Los resultados muestran que estos procesos no son completamente progresivos ni homogéneos, sino que presentan diferentes grados de complejidad desde los que se pueden analizar, cuando menos, tres ejes de desarrollo: 1) la adecuación de la dialogicidad al ámbito de la escritura académica, 2) el mejoramiento de la precisión argumental a partir de procesos de comparación y 3) el desarrollo de pensamiento crítico para lograr un posicionamiento enunciativo propio en los textos

Diseño y construcción del dispositivo de mortajado para máquina fresadora /

Se ha estructurado el desarrollo, tanto de la parte teórica como de la construcción del dispositivo mortajador, con el rigor que demanda un compromiso profesional; pues se realiza con la responsabilidad del primer trabajo y de todos aquellos que tiene que enfrentar un Ingeniero Mecánico. Acoplando la infraestructura existente en un taller industrial básico y la gama de conocimiento del curriculo universitario adquirido, más las recomendaciones de expertos en la materia y publicaciones especializadas, se redactara cada una de las etapas de evolución tanto del diseño como de la fabricación de los elementos y ensamble del conjunto, para evidenciar el progreso que se va alcanzando al introducir modificaciones para proyectar la solución como un producto óptimo al cual se va llegando gradualmente. Se considera fundamental, la determinación de la gama o secuencia de fabricación de cada elemento, pues es allí donde podemos llegar a entender exactamente el grado tecnológico alcanzado en un proyecto de este nivel. En conjunto, se determina en este trabajo, un método inicial, profusamente aplicado por los constructores de maquinas en la etapa de diseño evaluativa para producciones de preserie, homologación o investigación

Professional liability in oral surgery : legal and medical study of 63 court sentences

Objectives: Dentistry, like all other health care professions, has in recent years been subjected to an increase in legal pressure by patients. Nevertheless, there are areas of activity in dentistry in which, whether because of their frequency or due to the importance of the damage and sequelae claimed, this legal pressure is greater. Amongst these areas of activity is that of oral surgery. Study design: To be meticulously analyzed in this report are 63 sentences issued by courts of second instance or higher levels regarding lawsuits involving oral surgery. The data collection file includes 13 variables. The descriptive and comparative statistical study by cross-referencing certain variables provides us with a clear and accurate picture of the lawsuit profile. Results and conclusions: Implantological surgery was the practice subject to the most claims due to surgery (55.6 percent: 35 sentences), and it drew our attention that in 71.4% of all cases (45 sentences) there was a ruling against the professional. The most frequent range of damage payments was between ?18,001 and ?60,000 (40.9%: 18 sentences), the highest amount having been ?24,000, an important factor to take into account when contracting professional civil liability insurance. © Medicina Oral S. Neuroprotection from NMDA excitotoxic lesion by Cu/Zn superoxide dismutase gene delivery to the postnatal rat brain by a modular protein vector

Background: Superoxide mediated oxidative stress is a key neuropathologic mechanism in acute central nervous system injuries. We have analyzed the neuroprotective efficacy of the transient overexpression of antioxidant enzyme Cu/Zn Superoxide dismutase (SOD) after excitotoxic injury to the immature rat brain by using a recently constructed modular protein vector for non-viral gene delivery termed NLSCt. For this purpose, animals were injected with the NLSCt vector carrying the Cu/Zn SOD or the control GFP transgenes 2 hours after intracortical N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) administration, and daily functional evaluation was performed. Moreover, 3 days after, lesion volume, neuronal degeneration and nitrotyrosine immunoreactivity were evaluated. Results: Overexpression of Cu/Zn SOD transgene after NMDA administration showed improved functional outcome and a reduced lesion volume at 3 days post lesion. In secondary degenerative areas, increased neuronal survival as well as decreased numbers of degenerating neurons and nitrotyrosine immunoreactivity was seen. Interestingly, injection of the NLSCt vector carrying the control GFP transgene also displayed a significant neuroprotective effect but less pronounced. Conclusion: When the appropriate levels of Cu/Zn SOD are expressed transiently after injury using the non-viral modular protein vector NLSCt a neuroprotective effect is seen. Thus recombinant modular protein vectors may be suitable for in vivo gene therapy, and Cu/Zn SOD should be considered as an interesting therapeutic transgene
