Cokriging Partial Grades - Application to Block Modeling of Copper Deposits

    No full text
International audienceThis work concerns mineral deposits made of geological bodies such as breccias or lenses that contain several categories of grades with different characteristics in terms of distribution and variogram. When production blocks contain few such bodies, estimating block grades by ordinary kriging may produce unrealistic spatial continuity. We propose a method based on the indicators of objects (units or facies) together with their products with the grade. This is illustrated by an application to a porphyry copper deposit

The present article is arises from a clinical case of the internees ‘Approaches in Gender Violence’ that involves interns from the Faculty of Psychology, and is included in the grade formation of the Faculty of Psychology of the University from the Oriental Republic from Uruguay. A case vignette is presented, articulating theoretical aspects about violence and the ways in which the aggressor carries them out, in a physical or psychological way towards the people with whom it relates, as well as aspects of the motivational interview, technique carried out at the beginning to address the issue in the consultants.Facultad de Psicologí

Victimología y género. Aportes para pensar las violencias basadas en género desde un servicio universitario de consulta psicológica

    Get PDF
The Gender Violence Approach Service is an internship in individual clinic modality offered to advanced students of the Psychology Degree from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. It aims to train gender-based violence approaches from health psychology with a gender perspective and human rights. The Motivational Interview is used as the main tool to intervene in the psychological consultation, as well as the clinical listening. In the present work, vignettes of some of the cases worked in the internship will be exhibited, reflecting and theoretically articulating with authors of the region, dedicated to the academic commitment of the approach to situations of violence against women, from a perspective of gender, generations and rights humans.Facultad de Psicologí

Distance-dependent association of affect with pacing strategy in cycling time trials.

The psychological construct of affect is proposed to significantly contribute to pacing decisions during exercise. Borg’s RPE scale, another important regulator of work rate, is criticized as an inadequate measure of the multiple perceptual responses experienced. This study aimed to examine power output distribution and associated changes in affect, self-efficacy, perceptual cues, HR, and respiratory gases during both 16.1- and 40-km self-paced cycling time trials (TT). Secondly, the differentiation between physical perceptions of exertion and sense of effort in self-paced exercise was investigated. Method: Fifteen trained male cyclists completed 16.1- and 40-km TT using a CompuTrainer cycle ergometer. Time, power output distribution, affect, self-efficacy, physical RPE (P-RPE), task effort and awareness (TEA), HR, and respiratory gases were measured throughout each TT. Linear mixed models explored associations of these variables with power output distribution and the relationship between P-RPE and TEA. Results: Similar pacing strategies were adopted in the 16.1- and 40-km TT (P = 0.31), and the main effects were found for affect (P = 0.001) and RER (P G 0.001). Interactions between affect (P = 0.037) and RER (P = 0.004), with condition, indicated closer associations with power output distribution in 16.1 km than that in 40 km TT. P-RPE was not significantly different from TEA (P = 0.053). Conclusion: A significant association between affect and power output distribution suggests that affective responses are task dependent even in self-paced exercise, and a greater association is demonstrated in higher intensity, 16.1 km TT. Furthermore, physical perceptions of exertion are not clearly differentiated from the sense of effort in self-paced exercise

Team Dynamics Theory: Nomological network among cohesion, team mental models, coordination, and collective efficacy

I put forth a theoretical framework, namely Team Dynamics Theory (TDT), to address the need for a parsimonious yet integrated, explanatory and systemic view of team dynamics. In TDT, I integrate team processes and outputs and explain their relationships within a systemic view of team dynamics. Specifically, I propose a generative nomological network linking cohesion, team mental models, coordination, collective efficacy, and team outcomes. From this nomological conceptualization, I illustrate how myriad alternative models can be derived to account for variance in different working teams, each comprised of unique members, and embedded in singular contexts. I outline TDT’s applied implications for team development, the enhancement of team functioning, and the profiling of team resilience. I conclude by discussing how TDT’s ontological and nomological propositions can be tested through various theoretical inquiries, methodological approaches, and intervention-based studies
