“The Noble Nest” of I. S. Turgenev in Assessing Translator Lei Ran: on the Issue of the Novel Reception in China

In the framework of the general question about the perception of Turgenev’s novel “The Noble Nest” in China, in the article the assessments of this work were examined, which were proposed by the famous Chinese translator and connoisseur of Russian culture Lei Ran. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that the article for the first time analyzes the position of the translator, which is different in depth and represents a systematic assessment of the novel. The strengths of Lei Ran’s reception of “The Noble Nest” are connected with the translator’s observations on the poetics of this work (plot structure, contrasts and comparisons, psychologism, brevity, lyricism, etc.), as well with her reflections on the problems of interaction between western sentiments and national ideas. Lei Ran’s assessments of religiosity of the main female character and religious beliefs that in general distinguish Russian culture seem controversial. The translator sees in them the objective and subjective conditionality of the tragic outcome of the personal history of the main characters in Turgenev’s novel. This generally corresponds to the nature of the perception of these issues by the Chinese society, but hardly reflects the Russian realities. Interpretation of the novel “The Noble Nest”, proposed by Lei Ran, is estimated in the article as an important stage of the Chinese “turgeniana”

Administrative offenses cases number assessment in the Russian regions

Reducing crime is an important objective in the Russian Federation, therefore monitoring the dynamics of offending is relevant and of research interest nowadays. The aim of the article is to analyse the number of administrative offenses cases initiated by officials in the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as the changes that have occurred in the period between 2006 and 2019. In order to obtain a stable classification, all regions of Russia were ranked according to the arithmetic average number of administrative offenses cases for the period indicated. The paper implemented the cluster analysis method to identify typical, similar regions in terms of administrative offenses. The clusters and atypical regions composition according to the number of  administrative offenses cases in the Russian Federation for the analysed period was formed. The deviations of the clusters and regions values from the average Russian level were calculated

Strategic analysis of sustainable socioeconomic situation of rural areas in the Samara Region of the Russian Federation

On the one hand, the relevance of this problem is primarily determined by growing gap of rural territorial entities in socioeconomic development, and on the other hand, due to their significance in such prominent aspects for the country as food security, maintaining the existing land, industrial, ecological, demographic and human potential. The purpose of the article is comprehensive assessment of socioeconomic, institutional and ecological situation of rural areas in order to justify managerial decisions and effective policy making at the regional and local levels. The leading method for studying this problem is stratigic analysis of processes of developing rural areas, as well as factors, affecting development. The results of the study: In this article the authors assessed the situation in socioeconomic sphere of munitipalities in the Samara Region of the Russian Federation, accordingly, based on this, the authors concluded about a predominance of degradation processes, which form instability in the development of rural areas.
