Building Student-Athlete Resilience On and Off the Field
Literature continues to demonstrate that student-athletes have a difficult time understanding how the skills they acquire as a student-athlete are transferrable to a non-sport environment. Student-athletes are exposed to messages about resilience early on in their athletic careers yet lack the understanding of how these skills are applicable to life outside of athletics. This project examines the aforementioned problem through an ecological systems theory lens. A workshop series designed to bring together student-athletes and coaches addresses this knowledge gap. It is hoped that by bringing together student-athletes and coaches that the development of resilience can be understood through a more holistic lens, thus enabling student-athletes to have more successful experiences in post-athletics retirement
The challenges faced by small and medium enterprises in accessing credit in Namibia
This study sets out to explore the challenges associated with small and medium enterprises (SME) in obtaining funds from financial institutions. Specifically, it seeks to identify the types of credit facilities used by SMEs in Namibia, examine the factors that limit SME access to credit from banks and to understand the challenges associated with SMEs in accessing credit facilities. This study employs the logistic technique to correlate survey data from 120 small and medium firms in Namibia, to examine the likelihood of access to credit from a financial institution. The study has found that the type of credit used by SMEs is either short-term loans, medium-term loans or long-term loans. The conclusion reached is that the majority of SME business owners preferred short-term loans to finance their business activities. This leads to another question: whether financial institutions' products, designed for the SME sector, are well aligned with this finding or if this is another challenge to SMEs in accessing funds. The study revealed factors in accessing credit by small and medium-sized enterprises, including: requests by the financial institutions for collateral and audited financial statements of account; length of operation, and details of competent management, capable of giving the banks confidence and assuring them that the loans will be repaid; rates of interest which determine the loan costs. These are some of the factors that determine SME access to finance. The study strongly recommends that SME businesses keep up-to-date business financial records for various reasons, such as to keep track of their operations, and to provide this information to financial institutions in the event of their making applications for funding. Also, SME firms should build strong balance sheets, displaying their profits, so as to ensure that they are able to meet the collateral requirements of the financial institutions
Implementasi Kebijakan Pengelolaan Keuangan Kampung Tiworo, Merauke
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskriptifkan Implementasi Kebijakan Pengelolaan Keuangan Kampung yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah Kampung Kiworo sejak tahun 2015-2017 dengan total anggaran Rp. 1.400.000.000 (Satu Milyar Empat Ratus Juta Rupiah), namun pengelolaannya masih sangat jauh dari pada harapan. Metode yang di gunakan adalah metode kualitatif juga disesuaikan dengan karakteristik, maka penelitian ini dilakukaan dengan desain penelitian Deskriptif Kualitatif, dengan informan sebanyak 12 Orang yang terdiri dari perangkat Kampung Kiworo termasuk Kepala Kampung, Tokoh-tokoh Masyarakat Kampung dan Kasi Pemerintahan Distrik Kimaam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan penulis di Kampung Kiworo terkait judul penulis Implementasi kebijakan pengelolaan keuangan desa di Kampung Kiworo Distrik Kimaam Kabupaten Merauke Provinsi Papua, maka penulis mememukan (1). Terjadinya pengelolaan keuangan kampung yang tidak akuntabel, karena sikap dan perilaku apatis perangkat kampung terhadap rugulasi. mereka senantiasa tidak menjalankan pengelolaan keuangan kampung tidak susuai dengan regulasi sehinga prosesnya tidak berjalan sebagaimana mestinya mulai dari proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan serta pengawasan dan evaluasi. (2). adanya beberapa faktor penghambat antara lain minimnya sumber daya manusia, kurangnya komunikasi sikap, dan perilaku perangkat kampung, pola pengelolaan keuangan kampung yang belum maksimal, Kurangnya sarana dan prasarana penunjang, tidak adanya sanksi yang tegas dari pemerintah kabupaten, sehingga upaya untuk melaksakan proses pengelolaan keuangan kampung yang akun tabel sangat sulit di kampung kiworo karena dipengaruhi beberapa faktor diatas. (3). Strategi yang harus dilakukan adalah mengobtimalkan proses pengelolaan keuangan mulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanahan hingga pada pelaporan dan pengawasan dan evaluasi, dengan memanfaatkan regulasi yang ada. Disarankan kepada Pemerintah kampung kiworo, dalam melaksakan proses pengelolaan keuangan kampung wajib mengacu kepada UU No. 06 Tahun 2014 Tentang Desa Tentang Desa dan, Permendagri No. 113 Tentang Pengelolaan Keuangan Desa dan hirarkinya sampai dengan PEDES serta Pemerintah harus memperhatikan upah kerja yang diberikan kepada perangkat desa dan harus ditetapkan dengan aturan-aturan sehingga jelas bagi para perangkat
IMPLEMENTASI PENGELOLAAN DANA DESA DALAM MENINGKATKAN PEREKONOMIAN MASYARAKAT DI KAMPUNG KEMIRI DISTRIK MAKKI KABUPATEN LANNY JAYA
The purpose of this study is to find out how the implementation of Village Fund management in Kemiri Village, Makki District, Lanny Jaya Regency, to find out how productive economic business is in Kemiri Village, Makki District, Lanny Jaya Regency. And to find out whether the implementation of Dana Desa (DD) management in Kemiri Village can improve the community's economy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Village Fund Management in Improving the Community Economy in Kemiri Village, Makki District, Lanny Jaya Regency in 2020 and analyze the obstacles that hinder the implementation of Village Fund Management in Improving the Community Economy in Kemiri Village in 2020. The author uses qualitative research methods with 10 key informants and data sources in the form of documents and researchers as research instruments to obtain data that meets the requirements in writing this scientific paper. The results of this study indicate that: a). Implementation of Village Fund Management in Improving the Community Economy in Kemiri Village, Lanny Jaya Regency in 2020, which includes indicators: Effectiveness, Efficiency, Adequacy, Equity, Responsiveness and Accuracy has been going well, although there are still people who are not satisfied with the implementation of the Village Fund program in improve the economy of the people in Kemiri Village in 2020. b). The obstacles to implementing Village Fund management in Improving the Community Economy in Kemiri Village, Makki District include: psychological constraints on the distribution of village funds that are not in accordance with technical guidelines/or lacking, the market field is difficult to predict for external markets, political constraints of the Regency Government, District Government, Government The village is not consistent in the funding ceiling available for serious realization in the village but there is budget politics, the village government's authority does not run optimally, practical political factors during the election are a measure of the distribution of village funds, resource constraints all SPJ (Surat Pertanggung Jawaban) is regulated by District Government because the Human Development Index in Kemiri Village is still low in special skills, there is no reality, this can be seen in the realization of the distribution budget for non-physical village funds, which is more than for physical development
TRANSFORMASI KUALITAS PELAYANAN: INOVASI BIROKRASI DALAM PENGELOLAAN UNIVERSITAS MUSAMUS
Penelitian ini fokus pada inovasi birokrasi sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di Universitas Musamus. Pokok permasalahannya adalah bagaimana implementasi inovasi birokrasi memengaruhi kualitas pelayanan di lingkungan universitas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis metode implementasi inovasi birokrasi, serta untuk mengevaluasi dampaknya terhadap kualitas pelayanan universitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Sampel penelitian melibatkan berbagai pemangku kepentingan universitas.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi inovasi birokrasi melalui penyederhanaan prosedur, penggunaan teknologi, dan peningkatan kolaborasi antarunit telah berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi dan transparansi dalam pelayanan. Dampak positif ini tercermin dalam peningkatan kepuasan mahasiswa, dosen, dan staf administrasi. Kesimpulannya, inovasi birokrasi secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di Universitas Musamus.
