    Scalable production of graphene inks via wet-jet milling exfoliation for screen-printed micro-supercapacitors

    The miniaturization of energy storage units is pivotal for the development of next-generation portable electronic devices. Micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) hold a great potential to work as on-chip micro-power sources and energy storage units complementing batteries and energy harvester systems. The scalable production of supercapacitor materials with cost-effective and high-throughput processing methods is crucial for the widespread application of MSCs. Here, we report wet-jet milling exfoliation of graphite to scale-up the production of graphene as supercapacitor material. The formulation of aqueous/alcohol-based graphene inks allows metal-free, flexible MSCs to be screen-printed. These MSCs exhibit areal capacitance (Careal) values up to 1.324 mF cm-2 (5.296 mF cm-2 for a single electrode), corresponding to an outstanding volumetric capacitance (Cvol) of 0.490 F cm-3 (1.961 F cm-3 for a single electrode). The screen-printed MSCs can operate up to power density above 20 mW cm-2 at energy density of 0.064 uWh cm-2. The devices exhibit excellent cycling stability over charge-discharge cycling (10000 cycles), bending cycling (100 cycles at bending radius of 1 cm) and folding (up to angles of 180{\deg}). Moreover, ethylene vinyl acetate-encapsulated MSCs retain their electrochemical properties after a home-laundry cycle, providing waterproof and washable properties for prospective application in wearable electronics

    Eco-friendly strategy for the joint valorization of invasive macroalgae and fast-growing wood to produce advanced biofuels

    A novel sustainable scheme to jointly valorize Sargassum muticum (Sm) and Paulownia wood (PW) was proposed in this work, employing the advanced environmentally friendly microwave-assisted autohydrolysis (MA) as pretreatment. Sm is an invasive macroalga that has been drastically spread in the Atlantic coast of Europe, causing environmental damage. Conversely, Paulownia elongata x fortunei is a fast-growing biomass with a high biomass production and potential for biofuels production. Thus, the concomitant valorization of both biomasses may lead to benefits related to environmental protection and bioeconomy. A sequential approach was proposed: first stage of glucose production from Sm (treated by MA and enzymatic hydrolysis to obtain a glucose-rich liquor), and second stage with MA-pretreated PW followed by saccharification and fermentation, employing in this process the glucose rich solution obtained from algae, to obtain simultaneously second and third generation bioethanol. These approaches enabled to add the ethanol production from both biomasses, leading to up to 45.2 g ethanol/L (70% ethanol yield), boosting ethanol titers compared to using only one biomass (up to 27.8 g/L) and confirming the benefits of combining MA-processed biomass. Furthermore, up to 87% of the energy may be recovered, reflecting a suitable approach within an integrated strategy.Agencia Estatal de Investigación | Ref.     Different typologies of alcohol consumers in the practice of «botellon» in three Spanish cities

    In this work, 6,009 youngsters (14-25 years old) who practice the «botellon» were interviewed in three cities of the Valencian Community. After a stratifi ed sampling among college and noncollege students, a two-step cluster analysis was carried out for each sample with two aims: to identify different types of alcohol consumers in the practice of the «botellon» and to carry out a crossed validation of the results obtained. The variables included in the analysis were the following: gender, age group (university students: U; adolescent students: ES), performance of intensive episodes of consumption (yes/no), number of years practicing the «botellon» and grams of alcohol ingested. The results show the validity of the structure obtained for youngsters, revealing intensive episodes of alcohol consumption, as a fourgroup structure appeared in all three samples (male U, male ES, female U, female ES), in which men were always at the top of alcohol ingestion. Furthermore, ES consumed the same amount of alcohol as U, even though they had been consuming for less time. However, the youngsters who did not report intensive episodes of alcohol consumption showed some structure variability, with a tendency among women to match men’s levels of alcohol consumptionEn este trabajo se entrevistó a 6.009 jóvenes que practican botellón (14-25 años) en tres ciudades de la Comunidad Valenciana, realizando un muestreo estratifi cado de centros de Secundaria, Bachiller, CF y Universidad. Se efectuó un análisis de conglomerados en dos fases con cada muestra con dos objetivos: identifi car tipologías de consumidores de alcohol en el botellón y realizar una validación cruzada de la solución obtenida. Las variables consideradas en los análisis fueron: sexo, grupo de edad (universitarios: U; estudiantes Secundaria: ES), realización o no de episodios intensivos de consumo, años practicando botellón y gramos de alcohol ingeridos. Los resultados muestran evidencia de validez de la estructura obtenida para los jóvenes que realizan episodios intensivos de consumo de alcohol, ya que aparece una estructura de cuatro grupos en las tres muestras (varones U, varones ES, mujeres U, mujeres ES), siendo siempre los varones quienes más consumen. Además, los ES consumen iguales cantidades de alcohol que los U, aunque llevan menos años consumiendo. Por su parte, entre los jóvenes que no realizan episodios intensivos de consumo de alcohol se observa cierta variabilidad en la estructura, siendo manifi esta la tendencia de las mujeres a igualar su consumo con el de los varone

    l trabajo de investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo de diseño no experimental, descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal, tuvo como objetivo Conocer la relación entre conocimiento y actitud hacia el virus del papiloma humano en adolescentes, Distrito de Moro, 2020. La muestra estuvo conformada por 133 adolescentes del 4to y 5to grado de secundaria que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Se aplicó los instrumentos Cuestionario de Conocimiento Hacia el Virus del Papiloma Humano y Test de Actitud Hacia el Virus del Papiloma Humano por medio virtual. Los datos fueron procesados en el Software SPSS versión 26, llegando a las siguientes conclusiones: El 69,9% de los adolescentes tienen conocimiento alto hacia el VPH, el 24,8% presentan conocimiento medio hacia el VPH y el 5,3% tienen conocimiento bajo hacia el VPH. El 60,9% tiene actitud favorable hacia el VPH y el 39,1% tiene actitud menos favorable hacia el VPH. Existe relación significativa entre conocimiento y actitud hacia el virus del papiloma humano en adolescentes.Tesi

    FRECUENCIA DE DEFECTOS DEL ESMALTE DENTARIO EN NIÑOS EN UNA I.E. PARTICULAR; PUCALÁ – PERÚ, 2019

    Objetivo: Identificar el defecto de esmalte más frecuente en niños de la I.E María de Fátima-Pucalá-Chiclayo, Perú. Materiales: Estudio de tipo cuantitativo y diseño descriptivo, la muestra estuvo conformada por 50 niños con una edad promedio de 8 a 11 años. Resultados: Los resultados demostraron que la alteración más frecuente fue opacidad delimitada con un 48%, seguida de la opacidad difusa 44% y la hipoplasia 30%, la menos frecuente fueron otros defectos, según la edad a los 9 años, en el sexo femenino a un 52% y en el masculino en un 48%.                                                                               Conclusiones: La frecuencia de los defectos del esmalte fue similar a la reportada por otros estudios; se sugiere implementar programas preventivos enfocados en defectos del desarrollo del esmalte en esta població

    Microwave-assisted autohydrolysis of avocado seed for the recovery of antioxidant phenolics and glucose

    This study describes the valorization of avocado seed (AS) within a green biorefinery concept using microwave-assisted autohydrolysis. After the treatment at temperatures of 150–230 ◦C for 5 min, the resulting solid and liquor were characterized. The temperature of 220 ◦C led to the simultaneous optimal values of antioxidant phenolics/flavonoids (42.15 mg GAE/g AS, 31.89 RE/g AS, respectively) and glucose + glucooligosaccharides (38.82 g/L) in the liquor. Extraction with ethyl acetate allowed the recovery of the bioactive compounds while maintaining the polysaccharides in the liquor. The extract was rich in vanillin (99.02 mg/g AS) and contained several phenolic acids and flavonoids. The solid phase and the phenolic-free liquor were subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis to produce glucose, reaching values of 9.93 and 105 g glucose/L, respectively. This work demonstrates that microwave-assisted autohydrolysis is a promising technology to obtain fermentable sugars and antioxidant phenolic compounds from avocado seeds following a biorefinery scheme.Universidade de Vigo/CISUGXunta de Galicia | Ref.     Microwave-assisted extraction of hemicellulosic oligosaccharides and phenolics from Robinia pseudoacacia wood

The purpose of this work was to evaluate the suitability of microwave-assisted autohydrolysis to produce oligosaccharides and phenolics with potential prebiotic and antioxidant activities from Robinia pseudoacacia wood. The influence of treatment time (0–30 min) and temperature (200–230 ◦C) on oligosaccharide production was studied and conditions of 230 ◦C and 0.25 min resulted in maximum content of xylooligosaccharides (7.69 g XO/L) and more efficient energy consumption. Furthermore, under those conditions, liquors showed high contents of phenols (80.28 mg GAE/g of RW) and flavonoids (44.51 RE/g) with significant antioxidant activities (112.07 and 102.30 mg TE/g, measured by ABTS and FRAP tests, respectively). Additionally, the solubilized hemicelluloses were structurally characterized by HPAEC-PAD, MALDI-TOF-MS, FTIR and TGA/DSC, and HPLC-ESI-MS analysis allowed the tentative identification of 17 phytochemicals.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad | Ref.     Synergetic effect of hydrothermal and deep eutectic solvents (DES) pretreatments on Robinia wood fractionation for the manufacture of bioethanol and cellulose nanocrystals

    This study dealt with the use of environmentally friendly processes based on microwave-assisted autohydrolysis (MAA) and deep eutectic solvents (DES) for the selective fractionation of Robinia pseudoacacia wood (RW) within a biorefinery approach. MAA enabled the recovery of 76% of hemicelluloses in the form of oligomers. Afterwards, different conditions were assessed for the optimal delignification of RW with the DES choline chloride combined with lactic acid reaching delignification ratios up to 86%. Two different methods were accomplished to valorize the cellulosic-rich solid fraction after delignification: (i) bioethanol via enzymatic-fermentative pathway (attaining 53.3 g ethanol/L, about 83% of ethanol yield), and (ii) cellulose nanocrystals (length of 27–550 nm, width of 2–12 nm).
