Effect of impurities and sintering temperature on properties of MgO-CaZrO3 ceramic

CaZrO3 -MgO ceramics are useful as refractories in kilns for the cement production. One method of manufacture of such ceramics is by sintering from m-ZrO2 and dolomite MgCa(CO3 )2 mixtures. In this work electrofused m-ZrO2 grains (fraction <M325) and two Argentinean dolomites with different mineralogical compositions were used as raw materials. Ceramics were obtained by the conventional powder method of uniaxial pressing and subsequent sintering at 1400 to 1680 °C. The influence of the different mineralogy of the dolomites and sintering temperature on the properties of the composites was investigated. Ceramics had 20-30% porosity with representative SEM-EDX microstructure constituted by CaZrO3 agglomerates of variable size (~100µm) and MgO grains (size <50µm) containing some unreacted m-ZrO2 grains. The elastic modulus and flexural strength were correlated with the presence of impurities of the dolomite, porosity and microstructure of the ceramic.Fil: Booth, Raul Fernando Nicolas. Sudden death in eating disorders

Eating disorders are usually associated with an increased risk of premature death with a wide range of rates and causes of mortality. “Sudden death” has been defined as the abrupt and unexpected occurrence of fatality for which no satisfactory explanation of the cause can be ascertained. In many cases of sudden death, autopsies do not clarify the main cause. Cardiovascular complications are usually involved in these deaths. The purpose of this review was to report an update of the existing literature data on the main findings with respect to sudden death in eating disorders by means of a search conducted in PubMed. The most relevant conclusion of this review seems to be that the main causes of sudden death in eating disorders are those related to cardiovascular complications. The predictive value of the increased QT interval dispersion as a marker of sudden acute ventricular arrhythmia and death has been demonstrated. Eating disorder patients with severe cardiovascular symptoms should be hospitalized. In general, with respect to sudden death in eating disorders, some findings (eg, long-term eating disorders, chronic hypokalemia, chronically low plasma albumin, and QT intervals >600 milliseconds) must be taken into account, and it must be highlighted that during refeeding, the adverse effects of hypophosphatemia include cardiac failure. Monitoring vital signs and performing electrocardiograms and serial measurements of plasma potassium are relevant during the treatment of eating disorder patients

The moderating effect of contextual factors and employees' demographic features on the relationship between CSR and work-related attitudes: a meta-analysis

This paper aims to identify the conditions under which corporate social responsibility (CSR) affects employees' work-related attitudes. A meta-analysis of 42 studies published between 1999 and 2019 is elaborated considering the moderating effect of several contextual factors (country, industry, and national culture' values) and employees' demographic features (gender, age, education, tenure, and position) on the impact of perceived CSR on three work-related attitudes (organizational identification, commitment, and turnover intentions). The results reveal that the positive impact of CSR in employees' attitudes is not universal, it may vary due to the level of development and the national culture of the country where a company operates, the industry to which it belongs as well as employees' age and position. Furthermore, although individually some variables do not have a significant moderating effect, they are significant in combination with other variables, which opens new research avenues. Soporte anímico en pacientes con enfermedades hematológicas

El presente trabajo pretende determinar cuáles son las intervenciones del equipo de salud frente a las demandas emocionales de los pacientes hospitalizados en la Unidad de Aislamiento Hematológico del Hospital Central de la provincia de Mendoza durante el segundo bimestre de 2015. Además la investigación, busca evaluar la satisfacción del paciente y la participación familiar en el proceso del tratamiento. Se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo, exploratorio-descriptivo, prospectivo y de corte transversal. Birds of a feather flock together: ownership in cross-border acquisitions by emerging multinationals

Purpose: Despite prior studies on cross-border acquisitions (CBAs) have analyzed the determinants of ownership strategies; there is still a quest for evidence on how the differences between home and host market characteristics affect the ownership percentage. Prior studies have acknowledged that entering host countries with greater uncertainty makes multinationals reluctant to acquire high levels of ownership. Nevertheless, emerging multinationals (EMNEs) are usually used to operating under greater levels of uncertainty than multinationals from advanced countries (AMNEs), which can imply different ownership strategies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ownership percentage acquired by MNEs when designing a CBA in emerging or in advanced countries, and to analyze the extent to which the ownership strategy in emerging countries differs between EMNEs and AMNEs. Design/methodology/approach: Mobile telecommunications industry is used as research setting to provide empirical evidence of the interaction effect of the advanced versus emerging nature of the host and home countries on the ownership acquired in CBAs. Findings: Results confirm that both home and host countries' characteristics are relevant in explaining the ownership strategies of MNEs. Originality/value: The authors contribute to the strategy and IB literatures by providing empirical evidence on the recent debate on whether the internationalization strategies followed by EMNEs are similar to the traditional patterns of AMNEs, and analyze how EMNEs differ from AMNEs in their ownership strategies in emerging countries. Focusing in the mobile telecommunications industry, the authors also contribute by extending the analysis to an international and cross-cultural setting that includes 48 mobile groups that come from 35 home and 81 host countries

Musivaria Hd museo virtual de mosaicos de la Hispania Romana, gráficos y herramientas para la visualización de datos sobre mosaicos romanos tardoantiguos.

El presente artículo hace referencia a una serie de herramientas utilizadas para la visualización de datos de iconografía musivaria tardoantigua en la Península Ibérica. Nos centraremos en el Proyecto Musivaria HD, como resultado de la tesis doctoral. Posteriormente, en los gráficos, como principal forma de presentación de la información, y como ejemplo de visualización de datos, de manera que permite su análisis desde un punto de vista que difiere del habitual en las investigaciones sobre Historia del Arte en general, y mosaicos romanos tardoantiguos en particular. Dichas herramientas han permitido, en consecuencia, aproximarse a los datos desde la perspectiva de las Humanidades Digitales, lo que ha facilitado la extracción de conclusiones más enriquecedoras y a distintos niveles.This article refers to a series of tools used for the visualization of late-ancient musivary iconography data in the Iberian Peninsula. We will focus on the Musivaria HD Project, as a result of the author's doctoral thesis. Subsequently, in graphs, as the main form of presentation of information, as an example of visualization of data, in a way that allows its analysis from a point of view that differs from that usual in investigations on the History of Art in general, and late Roman mosaics in particular. Consequently, these tools have made it possible to approach the data from the perspective of the Digital Humanities, which has facilitated the extraction of more enriching conclusions at different levels
