In 1983, Howard Gardner published in his book, Frames of Mind, a theory that has revolutionized the vision of the academic world, on the intelligence concept. Since then, it continues to create uncertainties, which open the way to different investigations. The focus of the following study was to observe the existence of the relationship between the implementation of strategies that make use of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (TMI) and the development of three of the eight existing types; these were the verbal-linguistic intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. This application was made using Foreign Language Teaching (FLT), in this case English as the language. The study also investigated the relationship between the use of these strategies and the improvement of the learning process by FLT. Data collection was performed over a period of one month using a pre and post-test; these data were analysed statistically. The results revealed that there were no significant differences in the results of the studied groups, so it is concluded a study of one month is not enough, it is necessary a longer term intervention, to produce the development of the MI and to verify the improvement in the learning of the foreign language.
The current conflict in Syria has caused millions of refugees to leave their country in search of asylum and a safe haven. Over the past two years both European and American citizens have received more than thousands of refugees, including children, accompanied by their parents or caretakers and unaccompanied. Similarly, Puerto Rico, which has been accepting refugees from closer countries for years refugees, has expressed its interest in receiving Syrian refugees. However, because of the country being an US territory, this decision lies in the North American country. According to international standards and the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees (1951), all refugee minors deserve a number of rights, among them, the right to education. The objective of this research is to measure the attitudes of Puerto Rican adults towards refugee minors and to verify if the Puerto Ricans accept the schooling of refugee minors in Puerto Rican schools. For this investigation a survey was conducted in which 140 Puerto Ricans participated by using the quantitative method. As a result, the majority of the Puerto Ricans accept the schooling of refugee children in Puerto Rican classrooms, they believe their arrival can be enriching and they respect their rights. In conclusion, the greater part of respondents has a positive attitude toward the inclusion of refugee minors in schools
“An Unaccompanied Refugee children is a person under the age of 18, who is afraid of being persecuted, whose rights are threatened and is forced to leave his / her habitual residence and / or country of origin and is outside it, without the accompaniment of parents, relatives or other adult person, who, by law or custom, is responsible. “ (Angelidou & Aguaded, 2016). According to the Human Rights Watch researches (2016), serious crimes against refugees and immigrants children are being committed. The Government of Spain announced that they expect to relocate a total of 586 people before the end of 2017. At present, the number of refugees in Spain is more than 470. Specifically, Andalusia became, in September 2016, the first Spanish community that manages to relocate unaccompanied refugees children. The objective of this research is to analyze the socio-educational intervention, which is being carried out with these children. For this, the method used was in-depth interviews, y cuestionarios, which results offer very diverse information, from which we can conclude that there is a way forward, which is leading to improvements for children.
Armed conflicts and persecution, which reached their peak in 2015, have caused a new record in the number of people forced to leave their homes.
The following study was conducted with the purpose of observing the existence of the relationship between the implementation of strategies that make use of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (TMI) and the development of three of the eight existing types, these were the linguistic verbal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence.
