Efficient analysis of metal and dielectric rods in rectangular waveguide with ferrite magnetized transversely
This is an Author's Accepted Manuscript of an article published in Zahra Bahrami, Asghar Keshtkar, Ayaz Ghorbani & Hector Esteban (2020) Efficient analysis of metal and dielectric rods in rectangular waveguide with ferrite magnetized transversely, Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 34:2, 141-153 [copyright Taylor & Francis], available online at: http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/09205071.2019.1690589[EN] This paper presents a new analytical method based on mode matching
technique for a waveguide full of anisotropic material with rods. It
is proved that mode matching technique is applicable for the waveguide
with anisotropic materials. The problem is considered as a 2D
electromagnetic problem assuming no field variation normal to the
waveguide length. Incident and scattered fields from circular cylinder
rods in ferrite medium are expanded with cylindrical modes, and
the fields in the waveguide ports are expanded using progressive
and regressive modal summations. In both regions, extraordinary
wave number is considered for the fields. Finally, the hybrid mode
matching between guided and cylindrical modes is done by projecting
continuity equations in the circular boundary containing the rod.
The fast Fourier transform is used to solve the matching in the presented
method. It is shown, that the new method runs faster than
commercial software packages, with very good accuracy.Bahrami, Z.; Keshtkar, A.; Ghorbani, A.; Esteban González, H. (2020). Efficient analysis of metal and dielectric rods in rectangular waveguide with ferrite magnetized

A New Formula for Confirmation of Proper Endotracheal Tube Placement with Ultrasonography
Background Endotracheal intubation is an important procedure in critical care and emergency medicine settings. Optimal depth of the tube placement has been a serious concern because of several complications associated with its malposition. Objective: The aim of the current study was to find a new formula to estimate the proper endotracheal tube depth when using ultrasonography or lighted stylet device in order to increase the accuracy of determining Endotracheal tube (ETT) depth and decrease the side effects of ETT misplacement. Method: Patients older than 18 years of age admitted to Imam emergency department who needed tracheal intubation were included. Tube’s length at the angle of the mouth while the tube passed the suprasternal notch, ETT depth after insertion and the distance from ETT’s tip to carina were recorded. Ultrasonography and portable chest x-ray were used as tools for measuring these lengths. Results: A total number of 91 patients including 55 men and 36 women were eligible for inclusion in the study. Not placing the tube at proper depth was considered as failure of intubation. This failure rate was 9.9% in the standard method which would have been 1.1% if our proposed formula was used. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the use of this new formula may help in predicting the proper intubation tube placement. Further studies are warranted to confirm these findings
ISPIRANJE ŽELJEZA IZ SIROMAŠNE RUDE BOKSITA U CILJU NJEZINE UPORABE U VATROSTALNOJ INDUSTRIJI
Iron-bearing minerals are the most important interfering compounds that are found with bauxite reserves. The element iron has adverse effects on bauxite applications, including the use of bauxite in refractory soils. The purpose of this research is to investigate the possibility of iron removal from low-grade bauxite ores to utilize them in refractory industries. For achieving this purpose, iron removal tests were performed on bauxite samples with an alumina to silica modulus of 0.73. After determining the appropriate iron removal method among the magnetic separation, calcination, and leaching (with H2SO4 and HCl) processes, optimal separation conditions were determined by tests that were designed using the Taguchi method. According to leaching results, using HCl for raw feed (un-calcined) provided the best result for iron removal. During this test, Fe2O3 grade decreased from 5.14% to 0.08%, and the alumina to silica modulus increased to 0.75. Calcination of the concentrate obtained from this test has led to favorable results in reducing the Fe2O3 grade (0.04%) and increasing the Al2O3 grade. Afterwards, in tests designed by the Taguchi method, the effect of parameters such as time, process temperature, HCl concentration, and feed grain size on iron removal from bauxite by HCl leaching processes are discussed. According to the results, the best efficiency of iron removal for a feed grain size of 250 µm is achieved in the following conditions: 30% HCl, process temperature of 25°C, and process time of 120 minutes. In this case, iron removal efficiency and Fe2O3 grade in process concentrate are 92.78% and 0.56%, respectively. U ovome slučaju učinkovitost uklanjanja željeza i sadržaj Fe2O3 u procesnome koncentratu iznosi 92,78 % odnosno 0,56 %
Molekularna i serološka istraživanja invazije vrstom Neospora caninum u golubova u jugozapadnom Iranu.
Neospora caninum is a protozoan parasite with worldwide distribution, mainly implicated as responsible for bovine abortion. There are indications that the presence of birds on cattle farms could be associated with the increase in seroprevalence and abortions related to N. caninum. The present study reports the serological (Neospora agglutination test) and molecular (PCR) presence of N. caninum in pigeons. From the 102 samples analyzed, 31 samples (30.39%) were seropositive for N. caninum and the overall molecular prevalence of N. caninum in the brains of the same pigeons was 9.8% (10/102). This is the first report of detection of N. caninum in Iranian pigeons. The results indicate soil contamination due to N. caninum oocysts, because pigeons feed from the ground, and suggest that the meat from the pigeons may be an important source for infection of dogs.

The effect of nursing process-based care on patients' anxiety of candidates for women’s elective surgery
Abstract
Background & Aim: Although surgery as a means of therapy is used today and saves many patients’ lives but
it has also some complications. One of its most important psychological complications is preoperative anxiety.
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of nursing process based care on patients' anxiety of candidates
for women’s elective surgery.
Material & Methods: Using a randomized clinical trial, 60 candidates for women’s elective surgery in kosar
hospital of Qazvin city were randomly assigned to either control or experimental groups. The experimental
group was assessed based on nursing process after admission. If any nursing diagnoses including anxiety,
knowledge deficit, or fear were found, then the required training was provided to the patients. The control group
just received routine care. Data was collected using Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale
(APAIS) and a laboratory test for measurement of serum cortisol level. Data analysis was performed by
descriptive and inferential statistics (Chi-square test, fisher’s exact test, paired t test, independent t test,
Wilcoxon and Pearson correlation) using SPSS-PC (v.17).
Results: Paired t test results showed that the mean score for preoperative anxiety in the experimental group
(13.6 ± 3.3) compared to the time of admission (23.33 ± 3.6) has been significantly decreased (p= 0.001, t= -
4.7). Whereas the mean score for preoperative anxiety in the control group (23/4 ± 4.28) compared to mean
score of anxiety at admission time (17/03 ± 3.96) had been increased (p=0.001, t = -7.39). Results of
independent t test showed that the mean preoperative anxiety score in the experimental group was significantly
less than control group (p=0.001, t = -10.3).
Conclusion: According to the results, nursing care based on nursing process as an effective and non
pharmaceutical intervention can be recommended for reducing anxiety and concerns of these patients

Restless leg syndrome severity in young women is associated with neuropsychological performance and menstrual disorders
Background & aim: Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a frequent sensory dyskinesia disorder of the nervous system and a cause of disability in several aspects. We aimed to explore the relationship between RLS and mood complications, menstrual patterns and associated symptoms among young women.
Methods: This cross-sectional survey undertaken on 118 female university students in Birjand, Iran in 2020 using a multistage cluster sampling method. The degree of RLS was judged using the International RLS Severity Scale. The severity of PMS was characterized via the Premenstrual Syndrome Screening Tool (PSST). Neuropsychological performance was evaluated by standard questionnaires.
Results: Of the 118 young women, 29.7%, 32.2%, 27.9% and 10.2% of the participants were not affected by RLS, or had, mild, moderate, or severe types of RLS, respectively. The subjects with RLS had significantly lower duration of their menstruation cycle, and higher PSST scores, compared to those without it. Subjects with different severities of RLS scored higher for severity of depression, anxiety, stress, insomnia and sleepiness than normal women (p<0.01). RLS score was a significant factor related to the scores for: cognitive abilities (β=-0.33; P=0.022), depression (β=0.32; P=0.001), anxiety (β=0.24; P=0.003), stress (β=0.44; P<0.001), quality of life (β=-0.23; P<0.001), insomnia (β=0.21; P=0.001), sleepiness (β=0.15; P=0.014) and PSST (β=0.28; P=0.019).
Conclusions: In the absence of health management, RLS potentially associated to depression, anxiety, sleep disruption, cognitive impairment, decreased quality of life and menstrual problem. Future intervention studies is required for support these results
