Ocupación antrópica de espacios en riesgo: urbanizaciones crecientes e inundaciones recurrentes en Rincón de la Victoria (Málaga)

This article discusses the reality of natural hazards through the prism of the anthropic involvement in its existence and increase. This relationship of human occupation of areas at risk focuses on urban planning and the specific hazard of flooding. This connection is exemplified by the case of Rincon de la Victoria, at Malaga coast, which has undergone important growth of population and associated buildings, significantly increasing vulnerability to floods that have struck repeatedly in the municipality. These dynamics are analyzed using official statistics and aerial photographs from different decades that display increasing human pressure on the natural environment. It concludes with the insistence of the necessary urban planning that counts with existing natural risks and limits the construction of new developments in areas at risk.El presente artículo analiza la realidad de los riesgos naturales bajo el prisma de la implicación antrópica en su existencia y en el aumento de los mismos. Esta relación de la ocupación antrópica de espacios en riesgo se centra en la ordenación del territorio y el peligro específico de las inundaciones. Se ejemplifica esta imbricación con el caso de Rincón de la Victoria, en la costa malagueña, que ha conocido un espectacular crecimiento demográfico y de las construcciones asociadas, aumentando sensiblemente la vulnerabilidad ante las inundaciones que han impactado repetidas veces en el municipio. Esta dinámica se analiza a partir de estadísticas oficiales y de fotografías aéreas de distintas décadas que visualizan la creciente presión antrópica sobre el medio natural. Se concluye con la insistencia de una necesaria ordenación del territorio que cuente con los riesgos naturales existentes y que limite la construcción de nuevas urbanizaciones en espacios en riesgo

Influence of limiting beliefs in soft employability skills: An analysis for the hospitality sector

The purpose of this paper is to identify the main soft skills demanded by the hospitality industry, under the perception of master´s degree students and the influence of limiting beliefs in skills development. After a literature review, we lead a fieldwork based on workshops in which we conducted two questionnaires and we analyze the behaviour of students through the method of tutor observation. The results show a relationship between their soft-skills, and a significative negative correlation between perceived skills and the limiting beliefs. With this exploratory paper, we try to contribute to the better knowledge of new factors that may be hindering the development of the soft skills demanded in postgraduate students in the hospitality sector. These preliminary conclusions can be useful for both postgraduate schools and companies in their selection and training processes

The housing developments of Isla del Moral (Ayamonte, Huelva).

El presente artículo analiza la evolución diacrónica seguida por las urbanizaciones turísticas de Isla del Moral del municipio onubense de Ayamonte. El crecimiento casi continuo de la población y de las construcciones, aunado a una planificación turística que data de los años sesenta del siglo pasado, se plasma en la ocupación turística de la primera línea de playa en un ambiente que no se había urbanizado hasta inicios del presente milenio. Para mostrar esta evolución se cuenta con los censos de población y viviendas, pero también con fotografías aéreas del último medio siglo que permiten una fácil visualización de los mayores cambios acaecidos a lo largo del tiempo. Las nuevas urbanizaciones turísticas que se están levantando actualmente en Isla del Moral lo hacen sin tener en cuenta la dinámica natural del medio ambiente que encierra múltiples peligros, poniendo el desarrollo urbano-turístico en riesgo. La ordenación del territorio debe contar con esta dinámica natural, principalmente con la futura subida del nivel del mar en ambientes marismeños especialmente vulnerables. La planificación territorial y sectorial (municipal, regional y estatal) aplicada hasta ahora no ha podido evitar numerosas disfuncionalidades ligadas a la ocupación de espacios en riesgo. La Gestión Integral de Zonas Costeras, si llega a aplicarse en este ámbito, puede ser una solución a futuro, siempre y cuando las administraciones competentes estén pendientes de su implantación y se asegura un seguimiento continuo para evitar repetir errores del pasado y del presente en la ocupación del territorio.This paper analyzes the diachronic evolution followed by the housing developments at Isla del Moral,municipality of Ayamonte in Huelva (Spain). Almost continuous growth of population and buildings, coupled with a tourism planning dating back to the sixties of last century, is reflected in the occupation of the beach frontline in an environment that was not urbanized until early this millennium. To show this development, population and housing censuses, but also aerial photographs of the last half century are used, that allow easy viewing of the main changes occurring over time. The new holiday complexes currently rising on Isla del Moral do not take into account the natural dynamics of the environment that contains multiple hazards, putting the urbanizations at risk. The urban planning should count with this natural dynamics, especially with the future sea level rise in particularly vulnerable environments like marshlands. Territorial and sectorial planning (municipal, regional and governmental) applied so far has not been able to avoid numerous dysfunctions linked to the occupation of risk areas. The Integrated Coastal Zone Management, if ever implemented in this space, could be a solution to the future in the case that the competent authorities ensure its implementation and the continuous monitoring to avoid repeating mistakes of the past and present in the occupation of the territory.Departamento de Análisis Geográfico Regional y Geografía Física de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Memoria final de un Proyecto de Innovación que explora la utilización de la red social profesional LinkedIn en la enseñanza de másteres oficiales. Se apoya en la información contenida en los perfiles de exalumnos del Máster en Dirección y Gestión de Empresas Hoteleras de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Gracias a su análisis, se obtiene valiosa información acerca de la inserción y trayectoria laboral de los egresados del máster, a la vez que supone una mayor interrelación entre el mundo académico y laboral. De esta manera se puede verificar y mejorar la calidad del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje con el enfoque del mundo laboral y la incorporación de las experiencias de los exalumnos al aula como enriquecimiento de la docencia reglada

Use of LinkedIn in teaching and labour monitoring of the Master in Hotel Companies Management

[EN] The present paper explores the use of the professional social network LinkedIn in the teaching of official masters. It is based on two projects of teaching innovation that are based on the information contained in the alumni profiles of the Master in Hotel Companies Management of the Complutense University of Madrid. Thanks to its analysis, valuable information about the insertion and career of the master’s graduates is obtained, while it implies a greater interrelation between the academic and labour world.
