    Anti-programmed cell death protein-1/ligand-1 therapy in different cancers.

    Immunologic checkpoint blockade with antibodies against the programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) or its ligand (PD-L1) is an effective method for reversing cancer immunosuppression and thereby promoting immune responses against several cancer types. Anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 antibodies have resulted in long-term responses with minimal side effects in significant numbers of patients with melanoma, lung, kidney, bladder and triple-negative breast cancer, as well as in chemotherapy-refractory Hodgkin disease. There is already evidence from at least one randomised trial that anti-PD-1 therapy is superior to chemotherapy in the treatment of patients with metastatic melanoma, and two anti-PD-1 antibodies, pembrolizumab and nivolumab, have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of patients previously treated for metastatic melanoma. It is anticipated that approvals by drug regulatory bodies will be forthcoming in several cancers in the next months

    Domain walls in supersymmetric QCD

    We consider domain walls that appear in supersymmetric SU(N) with one massive flavour. In particular, for N > 3 we explicitly construct the elementary domain wall that interpolates between two contiguous vacua. We show that these solutions are BPS saturated for any value of the mass of the matter fields.     There are n graduate students and n faculty members. Each student will be assigned a scholarship by the joint faculty. The socially optimal outcome is that the best student should get the most prestigious scholarship, the second-best student should get the second most prestigious scholarship, and so on. The socially optimal outcome is common knowledge among all faculty members. Each professor wants one particular student to get the most prestigious scholarship and wants the remaining scholarships to be assigned according to the socially optimal outcome.     Modified Renormalization Strategy for Sandpile Models

    Following the Renormalization Group scheme recently developed by Pietronero {\it et al}, we introduce a simplifying strategy for the renormalization of the relaxation dynamics of sandpile models. In our scheme, five sub-cells at a generic scale bb form the renormalized cell at the next larger scale. Now the fixed point has a unique nonzero dynamical component that allows for a great simplification in the computation of the critical exponent zz. The values obtained are in good agreement with both numerical and theoretical results previously reported.Comment: APS style, 9 pages and 3 figures. To be published in Phys. Rev.
