La enseñanza de la matemática basada en la necesidad

¿Cómo hacer para que los estudiantes de matemáticas sientan la necesidad de aprenderla bien? La conciencia y comprensión de la necesidad de desarrollar un cierto dominio de las matemáticas es fundamental para hacer que el estudiante se motive y se aboque con toda su buena disposición de ánimo a estudiarla. Para despertar esa conciencia, uno de los recursos más fructíferos puede ser la adopción de la enseñanza problémica, que no es más que el fomento del aprendizaje a través de la resolución de problemas. De acuerdo con el autor de este trabajo, la didáctica enfocada de esa manera eleva el grado de actividad mental en la clase, propicia el pensamiento creador y contribuye al desarrollo de la personalidad, pues los alumnos deben aprender a encontrar por sí mismos los modos de solucionar las contradicciones de las situaciones planteadas, para poder pasar así de lo conocido a lo que en principio les era desconocido

Lokalmodifikatoren der Beziehung zwischen Nominal- und Adjektivsyntagmen im Spanischen und ihre Entsprechungen im Deutschen sowie ihre zusätzliche Determinierung mittels eines Partikelsystems der spanischen und der deutschen Sprache

Considering the lexical adverb of time or place reference as one of the possible determiners of the relationship between the noun phrase and the adjective phrase, this study tries to establish two paradigmatic systems: 1. that of lexical adverbs with time or place reference in the relationship ((noun phrase) (adverb (adjective phrase))) and 2. that of the determining particles in the relationship ((noun phrase) (particle (adjective phrase))). The concept of determination used in the present working paper corresponds to our corrections of the possible syntagmatic relationships defined by N. S. Trubetzkoy (1939). In other words, unlike the Russian linguist, from our point of view, determination implies a determiner and something determined, which results in something being defined or determined. In order to bolster our theory on the determined (questioned by some of our critics lately) deeper arguments have been found in the works of the great English logician W. E. Johnson, M. A. Fellow of King´s College, Cambridge, especially in his essays on logic published in the1920s. Combined Effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation and the Arctic Oscillation on Sea Surface Temperature in the Alborán Sea

We explored the possible effects of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Arctic Oscillation (AO) on interannual sea surface temperature (SST) variations in the Albora´n Sea, both separately and combined. The probability of observing mean annual SST values higher than average was related to NAO and AO values of the previous year. The effect of NAO on SST was negative, while that of AO was positive. The pure effects of NAO and AO on SST are obscuring each other, due to the positive correlation between them. When decomposing SST, NAO and AO in seasonal values, we found that variation in mean annual SST and mean winter SST was significantly related to the mean autumn NAO of the previous year, while mean summer SST was related to mean autumn AO of the previous year. The one year delay in the effect of the NAO and AO on the SST could be partially related to the amount of accumulated snow, as we found a significant correlation between the total snow in the North Albora´n watershed for a year with the annual average SST of the subsequent year. A positive AO implies a colder atmosphere in the Polar Regions, which could favour occasional cold waves over the Iberian Peninsula which, when coupled with precipitations favoured by a negative NAO, may result in snow precipitation. This snow may be accumulated in the high peaks and melt down in spring-summer of the following year, which consequently increases the runoff of freshwater to the sea, which in turn causes a diminution of sea surface salinity and density, and blocks the local upwelling of colder water, resulting in a higher SST.CGL2009-11316 (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, Spain, and FEDER

Formación y desempeño de los maestros de educación primaria para provocar una actitud positiva en sus estudiantes hacia la matemática

El estudio realizado es parte de una investigación en fase de desarrollo y que conforma el proyecto de doctorado del autor principal del trabajo, el cual está orientado a investigar sobre las causas de la baja calidad de la formación inicial de los docentes del sistema educativo de República Dominicana, en el área de matemática. En la formación pedagógico-matemática inicial de los maestros del nivel básico, el desempeño de los estudiantes para maestros en su práctica en el nivel básico revela insuficiencias, en el ámbito de la actitud hacia la matemática, que limitan su formación pedagógico-matemática inicial. Existen factores claves en la formación inicial de los docentes del nivel primario que facilitan su incursión en el campo de trabajo a través de la realización de su práctica docentes
