    Training of Artificial Intelligence Applications for English Students

    This community service is motivated by students in Bengkulu who are considered by many to be untouched by the updated technology used in teaching English. Therefore, it is necessary to provide knowledge about learning technology through training. The purpose of this service activity is to train and realize habituation of English students at Fatmawati Sukarno State Islamic University (UIN FAS) Bengkulu so they are able to apply Artificial Intelligence applications in learning English. In carrying out this activity, the service method is carried out in the form of socialization and training and evaluation. This trial activity is related to UIN FAS. UIN FAS is an institution that has the same vision as the team implementing this community service activity, namely to educate the life of the Indonesian nation. Evaluation activities in community service are related to all things that occur in the process of implementing activities. This starts from the initial stage of preparation which includes field observations to training evaluation. The result of this dedication is that AI applications can be used by TBI UIN FAS students. They were very enthusiastic to take part in the training. In addition, they provide a good perception of the implementation of this AI training to support the English learning process

    This study concludes  that: 1) maturity according  to Islamic law is marriage  done within the boundary of a person  has entered the baligh phase. Married adults are an attempt  to minimize the problems that make the concept  of sakinah,  mawaddah and rahmah households will not be achieved. Households need to be built on the basis of maturity so as to cause psychological maturity of each  partner  either husband or wife. This maturity will generate thoughts,  attitudes  and  behaviors that also mature in the household.     Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan langkah dan cara mengembangkan bahan ajar sastra berbasis cerita rakyat Musi Rawas yang dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa kelas V SDN Karyadadi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Kuesioner, wawancara dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa, kelayakan isi kategori sangat baik, karena 100% guru menyatakan sangat sesuai pada semua indicator, kebahasaan kategori sangat sesuai, karena dari 100% guru menyatakan sangat sesuai pada indikator kejelasan informasi, sesuai dengan KBI dan Bahasa efektif dan efesien sedangkan indikator keterbacaan 60% sangat sesuai dan 40% baik, sajian kategori sangat sesuai, karena 100% menyatakan sangat sesuai pada indikator stimulus dan kejelasan tujuan sedangkan 80% menyatakan sangat sesuai pada indikator sistematis, pemberian motivasi dan kelengkapan informasi dan 20% menyatakan baik dan kegrafikan kategori sangat sesuai karena 100% menyatakan sangat sesuai pada semua indikatornya.     AN ANALYSIS OF INTERACTIONAL PATTERN BETWEEN TEACHER AND STUDENT IN SMAN 1 CURUP KOTA

    This study investigates the interaction pattern in SMAN 1 Curup Kota, based on Coulthard theory (2002). This study analyzed the interaction pattern and type of act used by teacher and students to see the ideal pattern in the classroom. The data analysis shows that (a) the dominant pattern used in the classroom is complete pattern (IRF) and there are also semi-complete pattern (IR) and incomplete pattern (IF); (b) In the type of acts section, the elicitation is the highest followed by informative and starter in the initiation move,  reply as the highest act in the response move, and in the follow up accept as the highest followed by comment. It can be concluded that interaction pattern in the classroom is dominantly occured is ideal pattern but it’s not good interaction pattern because delimit student opportunity in the classroom

    PHONOLOGICAL CHANGE PROCESSES OF ENGLISH AND INDONESIAN

    Phonological change is a language phenomenon that occurs because language users change the distribution of phonemes in a language. The aims of this study are to explain the phonological processes that occur in English and Indonesian and to explain the differences in phonological forms between English and Indonesian. The method used in this study is a contrasting-descriptive method by comparing two languages, namely English and Indonesian. The data were taken from the speech of students taking Indonesian and English courses at the University of Bengkulu, totaling 40 students in the first semester. The results show that five types of phonological change processes occurred in English and Indonesian, namely assimilation, metathesis, epenthesis, epithesis, and deletion. The phonological change in English often occurred when two vowel phonemes meet, such as /ea/ shift to /e/, or /i/, phoneme /y/ shift to /i/. Phoneme /e/ was pronounced when two vowel phonemes meet, such as /s/ and /n/ becomes /sen/. Phoneme /g/ is pronounced multiply when it meets the sound/ng/. Phoneme /u/ is pronounced when it meets phoneme /o/ + a consonant. Phoneme /h/ is unpronounced when it meets a vowel phoneme or more vowel phonemes in the words. Meanwhile, phonological changes in Indonesian often occurred from consonant phonemes to other consonant phonemes that have almost the same sound such as phoneme /z/ shift to /s/ and /j/. Phoneme /k/ was pronounced after phoneme /u/ and phoneme /h/ is pronounced after phoneme /a/at the end of words. Phoneme /y/ was pronounced between phonemes /i/ and /a/. Phoneme /h/ was unpronounced when it meets phonemes /a/, /i/, and /u/ in words. In conclusion, the process of phonological change that occurs in English and Indonesian is due to the influence of adjacent phoneme sounds that resemble nearby sounds

    Pelatihan Penulisan Kajian Pustaka Artikel Jurnal Ilmiah Berbahasa Inggris Bagi Guru Sekolah Menengah di Kota Lahat Sumatera Selatan

    Menulis kajian pustaka untuk artikel jurnal berbahasa Inggris merupakan tugas yang cukup sulit termasuk bagi guru bahasa Inggris, karena membutuhkan pengetahuan tentang Move dan Step dan keterampilan menulis yang benar dan efisien dalam bahasa Inggris. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah untuk mengajar dan membimbing guru bahasa Inggris di Kota Lahat Sumatera Selatan dalam menulis kajian pustaka untuk artikel jurnal berbahasa Inggris. Pelatihan diikuti oleh 21 orang guru bahasa Inggris yang dilakukan secara tatap muka dan virtual. Sebelum dan setelah pelatihan, guru bahasa Inggris tersebut diminta untuk mengisi angket yang telah disiapkan. Hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan menunjukkan bahwa sebagain guru merasa menulis kajian pustaka susah dan sebagian lagi tidak namun sebagian besar mereka bersikap positif terhadap menulis artikel untuk jurnal internasional dalam bahasa Inggris. Setelah pelatihan sebagian besar peserta pelatihan meraka bahwa metode pelatihan yang digunakan efektif, pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka dalam menulis kajian pustaka semangkin baik dan motivasi mereka dalam menulis artikel semangkin tinggi. Sebaiknya pelatihan menulis karya ilmiah seperti artikel jurnal semangkin sering dilakukan untuk guru bahasa Inggris dengan bekerjasama dengan perguruan tinggi terdekat agar mereka makin mahir daam menuis karya ilmiah.

    Students’ Anxiety in Class Presentation Activity at the Postgraduate English Education Study Program of the University of Bengkulu

    Students’ anxiety can impact the learning process. Anxiety causes students to overthink and focus on the negative, such as the fear of failing, getting lost in thought about a topic, or being laughed at or ashamed by others because of a mistake. Feeling anxious makes students not know what to say while they speak in front of the class. They forget all of the words they already know, which causes them to become stuck in the middle of the presentation, and, as a result, the presentation will not run smoothly. Students will be frustrated, ashamed, hopeless, and defeated as a result of this situation. Additionally, the students are unable to achieve the anticipated learning goal. If anxiety always occurs when learning a foreign language, especially in English presentation classes, it will certainly be a very serious problem for students. As a result, it is critical to investigate, and the goal of this study is to: (1) learn about the anxiety levels experienced by postgraduate students of the English Education study program in Bengkulu. (2) reveal what factors significantly influence students' anxiety level in class presentations, and (3) reveal the methods that first-semester students of Bengkulu University's postgraduate program in English education use to reduce their anxiety. The subjects of this research were the 21 students of the first semester of the postgraduate English program at Bengkulu University, and to fulfill these research objectives, the descriptive qualitative research design was utilized in this study. In this study, the researchers collected data using instruments such as a questionnaire and an interview. After conducting the research, the results revealed that most students are at an "anxious" level, and the researchers found that there are three main factors that significantly influence their anxiety. They are communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of evaluation, and in order to overcome their anxiety, students have their own ways, such as being well prepared and practicing as much as possible, not overthinking, holding something, doing physical movements, and relaxin

    Masalah dalam skripsi ini adalah apakah dengan melakukan kegiatan permainan lempar tabak dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan kinestetik anak PAUD AL-SYAFAQOH kelompok B Curup Rejang Lebong? Adapun tujuan dari peneliti ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan kinestetik melalui kegiatan permainan lempar tabak pada anak kelompok B. Dengan subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 10 orang anak Kelompok B PAUD AL-SYAFAQOH Curup Rejang Lebong. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 kali pertemuan dengan tahapan sebagai berikut : a) perencanaan, b) tindakan, c) observasi, d) refleksi. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru. Tehnik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi kemudian data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan persentase. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan melalui permainan lempar tabak dapat meningkatkan kecerdasan kinestetik anak terbukti pada siklus 1 dan siklus 2. Hasil penelitiannya ternyata terbukti dengan hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan 87.5%. Dari hasil tersebut maka disarankan kepada guru-guru bahwa melalui gerakan lempar tabak merupakan cara yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan kinestetik pada anak usia dini secara optimal

    THE IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHER’S MOTIVATIONAL STRATEGIES IN THE FREEDOM WRITERS MOVIE

    This research was aimed to know how the teacher motivates her learners and to observe the activities which were applied by the teacher in Freedom Writers movie. The method was descriptive qualitative analysis. The data was taken from the movie and its scripts. The data collection technique was documentation meanwhile the technique of data analysis is content analysis. The research findings were as follows; 1). The teacher employed 10 different motivational strategies. 2). The researcher found the various ways how the teacher applied the strategies in the classroom, those were; by giving respect, love, care and always motivate her learners, playing game, using song’s lyrics, writing assignment, switching the learners’ seat, field trip, discuss with some informants and give the support to the learners who got failed in their evaluation. However, all the kinds of those teacher’s strategies to motivate the learners which found in the movie can be used as references for the teacher in aspiring to be good educators in the future. Further study is recommended for a deeper investigation into teachers’ motivational strategies and their used in the classroom activities

    Improving Students’ Speaking Skills Through YouTube Videos at the Seventh Grade OF MTs N 02 Bengkulu

    Speaking is a skill which deserves attention every bit as much as literary skills, in both first and second language. The aims of this study were to discover (1) improving students' Speaking skills through YouTube Digital Videos at seventh grade stuednts of MTsN 02 Kota Bengkulu, (2) Some factors influence how students' Speaking skills changes after using YouTube digital videos at seventh grade students of MTsN 02 Kota Bengkulu. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) project included 36 students of the seventh grade students of MTsN 02 Kota Bengkulu. The researcher investigated the enhancement of students' speaking skills and the factors that influence the change of students' speaking skills using quantitative and qualitative data. This study's instruments included a speaking test, an observation checklist, field notes, and an interview. The results of the research were described as follow: (1) the improving of students' speaking skills through YouTube digital videos was based on the test results. the research was declared successful the mean score on the students' speaking test was 77. The aforementioned statistics allowed us to determine that the mean speaking score for students was 77, meaning that eighty five percents of students were good and very good. In this study, 42% of students, or 15 students, were good speakers, whereas 45% of students, or 16 students, were very good speakers, (2) factors that influence how students' speaking skills changes after using YouTube digital videos were motivation and students’ activeness in following the learning process by viewing the YouTube digital videos. The results of the research can be concluded that YouTube digital videos can improve students’ speaking skills and it was affected by motivation, the students’ factors and the teacher’s cooperation in applying the YouTube digital media.   Keywords: Classroom Action Research (CAR), Speaking skills, YouTube Digital Video
