Bow-Tie Microstrip Antenna Design
In this paper, the bow-tie microstrip antennas have been designed with two different angles of 40° and 80°. An investigaton on the effect of the angle to the return loss and radiation patterns had been carried out. The impedance matching network with the niicrostrip transmission line feeding was used in this study. Simulation and measurement results for the return loss and radiation patterns were presented
Structural response of SSME turbine blade airfoils
Reusable space propulsion hot gas-path components are required to operate under severe thermal and mechanical loading conditions. These operating conditions produce elevated temperature and thermal transients which results in significant thermally induced inelastic strains, particularly, in the turbopump turbine blades. An inelastic analysis for this component may therefore be necessary. Anisotropic alloys such as MAR M-247 or PWA-1480 are being considered to meet the safety and durability requirements of this component. An anisotropic inelastic structural analysis for an SSME fuel turbopump turbine blade was performed. The thermal loads used resulted from a transient heat transfer analysis of a turbine blade. A comparison of preliminary results from the elastic and inelastic analyses is presented
Similarity Measure Development for Case-Based Reasoning- A Data-driven Approach
In this paper, we demonstrate a data-driven methodology for modelling the
local similarity measures of various attributes in a dataset. We analyse the
spread in the numerical attributes and estimate their distribution using
polynomial function to showcase an approach for deriving strong initial value
ranges of numerical attributes and use a non-overlapping distribution for
categorical attributes such that the entire similarity range [0,1] is utilized.
We use an open source dataset for demonstrating modelling and development of
the similarity measures and will present a case-based reasoning (CBR) system
that can be used to search for the most relevant similar cases
Scattering length for helium atom-diatom collision
We present results on the scattering lengths of ^4He--^4He_2 and ^3He--^4He_2
collisions. We also study the consequence of varying the coupling constant of
the atom-atom interaction.Comment: Contribution to Proceedings of the International Workshop ``Critical

Normal soaking extraction (NSE) of rotenone from Derris elliptica
Derris elliptica or the tuba plant contains rotenone, bio-active compound known that has the potential to be used as bio-pesticide. Bio-pesticide is the best-known alternative bio-pesticide which has the potential to replace the use of conventional pesticides, as it is more environmentally friendly. The main objective of the paper is to obtain the best extraction solvent for optimizing the yield in rotenone extraction. Rotenone was extracted from Derris root using three different parts of roots and three types of solvent in Normal Soaking Extraction (NSE). The types of Derris roots are: (1) Fine root (2) Coarse root (3) Stem. The three types of solvent system are: (1) Acetone 95 % (v/v), (2) Chloroform 99.9 % (v/v) and (3) a mixture of ethanol: H2O (9:1) added with oxalic acid (1mg/ml). The liquid crude extracts were further cleaned up to remove the fine debris of roots. The presence of rotenone was confirmed using qualitative analysis Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and thereupon the determination of rotenone content was carried out using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). From the results obtained, it was found that the Normal Soaking Extraction (NSE) using acetone 95 % (v/v) was the best method to extract the highest yield of rotenone; 1.14 % (w/w)
Diagnosa Penyakit Kulit Wajah Menggunakan Metode Decession Tree Dan Algoritma C4.5
Today's face is something that is very much considered by both women and men. Women and men do facial treatments so often because the face is the first thing to see when meeting someone. However, there are those that often interfere with the face, one of which is a skin disease that is very diverse ranging from acne, dullness, blackheads to cancer. In fact, to overcome this, many people always consult with doctors, especially face problems. One thing that can be done is to diagnose facial skin diseases using the decession tree method and the c 4.5 algorithm. The existence of this system is expected to be a solution in conducting consultations for women and men for facial problems. By using the decession tree method and the c 4.5 algorithm and by using a number of data mining, it will give results that can be used as guidelines in treating facial skin diseases. In addition, the existence of this system will also be very helpful in the field of services to consumers, both women and men, especially for facial care to avoid facial skin diseases, which has been a problem so far
Assessing human error during collecting a hydrocarbon sample of the chemical plant using therp
This paper reports the assessment method of the hydrocarbon sample collection standard operation procedure (SOP) using THERP. The Performance Shaping Factors (PSF) from THERP analyzed and assessed the human errors during collecting a hydrocarbon sample of a petrochemical refinery plant. Twenty-two scenarios and standard operating procedures (SOP) are analysed to identify the human errors. The event tree analysis is employed to quantify the human error. The finding revealed that the THERP is a feasible technique for measuring human performance errors and performance shaping factors. Keywords: THERP, Event Tree Analysis, Human Error Probability, Hydrocarbon SampleCollection SOP
Rancangan Pengambilan Contoh Upaya Tangkap Dan Hasil Tangkap Untuk Pengkajian Stok Ikan
Effects of Ti Addition on the Dielectrical Properties of a New Austenite Alloy
EFFECTS OF Ti ADDITION ON THE DIELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF A NEW AUSTENITE ALLOY. Preparation of alloys has been carried out leading to a new type of austenite alloys designated A-1 with a composition of Fe 52.22 wt%, Ni 24.2 wt%, Cr 20.0 wt%, Si 1.0 wt%, Mn 2.0 wt%, C 0.08 wt% and Ti 0.5 wt%. The main difference compared to commercial alloys (e.g. A347) is that Ti is added as an alloying element, but no P and S. The frequency-dependent conductivity and dielectric response of this novel material have been investigated by RLC bridge impedance spectroscopy method. It was verified that the real dielectric constant Îş' of these newA-1materials showawell defined dielectric behavior and shows a considerable improvement over the commercial A-347 alloywith similar composition. Both dielectric response and dielectric loss curves show frequency dispersive relaxation peaks, indicating different conduction process in the surface and in the bulk of the materials. Therefore the substitution of P and S with Ti resulting in a new austenite with different dielectric properties. These improved dielectric properties should make this new material a good candidate for use as electrical connector, but with a reduced corrosion, so the lifetime or duration of application could be extended
