a dança e a teoria psicossomática.
A dança
The aim of this exploratory study of case was to aspire a reflexive understanding in the scope
of the Psychosomatic Theory, on the experience of dance in the body and by the body. The
problem in study was: what are the possibilities of the body in dance and which the
repercussions and effect that dance has on the body? To access the concepts that cross dance
and Psychosomatic Theory we used a semi-structured interview and Rorschach projective
test. Concepts like space, time, body lateralization, body image, body consciousness, rhythms,
dream, imagination and relation. This study of case had the participation of three professional
dancers, with more than twenty and three years of dance lessons and at least five years doing
professional dance. One dances Classic, other one Contemporary and the third participant
does the two techniques. Differences were found on the capacity of the imaginary function
between the dancers. The contemporary dance is presented as more propitiated for the
development and maintenance of this function, in opposition to the classic dance that
demonstrated as contributing to the adaptative function. Diverse questions of analysis had
been placed in this direction
Marital and Parental Conflicts in Families with Children:: Characteristics and Resolution Strategies
Conflicts are considered inevitable in relationships and, therefore, more than their occurrence, what matters are the strategies used for resolving them. The aim of the study was to investigate the characteristics of, and the strategies used for resolving, marital and parental conflicts in families with children. It is an empirical study, with qualitative design, in which 12 couples participated in a semi-structured interview. Thematic categorical analysis has shown that marital conflicts involved personal, relational and contextual reasons and the use of constructive and destructive resolution strategies. Constructive strategies included an emphasis on open communication and problem solving; destructive, emphasis on avoidance and verbal hostility. Parent-child conflicts involved reasons related to the parental difficulty in imposing limits, with the use of constructive strategies, characterized by non-violent discipline, and destructive, by physical and psychological aggression. The findings of this study may contribute to interventions of professionals who work with families, in different contexts.
Adolescence is usually marked by changes at the level of the body, the thinking, attitudes and social life, and make young people more vulnerable to developing irrational and impulsive behaviors such as substance use.
In this sense, the main objective of this study is to understand the beliefs and attitudes that motivate young adolescents to use substances such as alcohol, nicotine and other substances. For such, it was chosen a convenience sample of students from three schools belonging to the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, including the Superior School of Education of Portalegre, the Superior School of Technology and Management of Portalegre and the Superior School of Health of Portalegre. The sample consists of 193 students, with participants age ranges between 18 and 25 years.
Thus, was applied the HIT-D & A questionnaire that measures the beliefs and attitudes of adolescents associated with the use of psychoactive substances such as alcohol, nicotine and other illegal psychoactive substances.
The results showed that the main psychoactive substances consumed by young people are alcohol, followed by nicotine and marijuana. Another conclusion is the existence of significant differences between the two genders, and the boys have a higher average compared to girls in a statistically significant way. Although there are no statistically significant differences between age groups it is concluded there is more consumption of psychoactive substances among older youth. Concerning the averages of the three schools studied, these are higher in the Superior School of Technology and Management of Portalegre. The results also showed that there is a strong association between the three cognitive distortions (self-centered, blaming others and assuming the worst and minimizing and mislabeling) and consumption of various psychoactive substances

Characterisation of two novel bacteriophages specific against Staphylococcus lugdunensis biofilms
Staphylococcus lugdunensis is a coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS) and an emergent pathogenic
biofilm-forming agent, responsible for causing a severe form of native valve endocarditis and
infections of prosthetic heart valves, intravascular catheters, prosthetic joints, and ventriculoperitoneal
shunts, among other hospital-acquired infections.
Biofilm formation is a virulence factor of S. lugdunensis. Inside biofilms, dormant cells can survive
antibiotic therapy, due to their low metabolic activity. The survival of these bacterial cells to antibiotic
treatments, results in biofilm relapse and consequent infectious illness recalcitrance.
Bacteriophages (phages) are an antimicrobial potential that can be used as alternative or in a complement
of traditional methods. However, to data, there are no reports of S. lugdunensis phages.
The main goal of this study was the isolation and characterization of new S. lugdunensis phages and
the evaluation of their activity against biofilms and dormant cells to select promising candidates for
therapy.
The two isolated S. lugdunensis phages (Lud1 and Lud2) exhibited good antimicrobial properties
against S. lugdunensis I439 and U867 biofilms. Phage Lud2 showed the rare ability to infect dormant
bacteria. In addition, both phages characterization demonstrated that both exhibited a broad lytic
spectrum, high stability at different pH and temperature conditions and potential safety, as genome
analysis did not identify any virulence-associated nor antibiotic resistance genes.
As far as we know, these are the first well-characterized S. lugdunensis phages. Overall, both phages
demonstrated that they can be promising agents to combat infections caused by this important
