In this research study, the writer would like to describe “The Meaning Analysis of “To Dianeme” in Robert Herrick's Poem (Semiotic Approach in Literature Analysis)”. Descriptive qualitative method is used by the writer for the study and also received most of the source from the internet for the related subject as references. The finding of this poem there are two meaning which can be found in “To Dianeme” such as heuristic like denotative meaning and hermeneutic like connotative meaning. Annotated Translation of Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks

Translators always faced difficulties in translating. In order to manage, the translator would need to use strategies to produce effective and natural translation. In this study, the researcher was to find out the difficulties or problems and the strategies in the process of translation from English into Indonesian from the text in a novel titled Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks. The researcher was to annotate the words, phrases, clauses, and sentences that she has translated. This area above, namely annotated translation from English into Indonesian, was chosen by the researcher in order to widen her experience in translation which was in line with her study and to detect the problems emerging during the process of translation. The research result was that the translator found some difficult problems in translation such as Lexical, Grammatical, Communication and Cultural problems in translating the words, phrases, clauses and sentences. In order that the message of the SL text could be accurately translated into the acceptable TL equivalence, she did not merely or literally translate them by retaining the forms remaining the same way as the TL text. The Use of Positive Language on Children Education to Build Children’s Positive Behaviour

Language as the basic right of children is the most important thing to build their characters that required from their closest environment, family. Mother is the first person who will put and create the children's characters. The use of positive language by a mother will build on children's positive characters. Therefore, this research aims at determining the use of positive language by mothers in Majelis Taklim Baitul Hasan Jagakarsa, on children education to build their positive behavior. This research employing a cross-sectional survey method with attitudinal questionnaire of ten questions with the total respondents of 118 people. By implementing the formula of positive language, mothers will hopefully understand more the use of positive language on children education

Analisis Pergeseran Bentuk dan Makna dari Bahasa Inggris ke Indonesia dalam Lirik Lagu Zain Bikha

Dalam menerjemahkan akan terjadi penambahan atau pengurangan (berupa kata, tanda baca), sehingga hasil terjemahan tidak bisa sama persis dengan bahasa sumber. Hal ini disebabkan adanya perbedaan struktur dan aturan dari masing-masing bahasa, maka aturan dari satu bahasa belum tentu berlaku juga untuk bahasa lain sehingga terjadi pergeseran baik bentuk maupun makna. Tujuannya adalah untuk menjelaskan pergeseran bentuk dan makna yang terdapat pada lirik lagu Zain Bikha pada album The Passing Traveler dari bahasa Inggris ke bahasa Indonesia dan untuk menjelaskan jenis-jenis pergeseran bentuk dan makna yang terdapat pada lagu tersebut. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif berdasarkan pendekatan komparatif dalam membandingkan hasil terjemahan peneliti dengan teks bahasa sumber yang ditemukan. Hasilnya adalah terjadi pergeseran bentuk dan makna pada lagu Zain Bikha, pergeseran bentuk lebih dominan dari pada makna. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa 31 data mengalami pergeseran: 28 data mengalami pergeseran bentuk seperti pergeseran tataran, struktural, kelas kata, unit, serta intra-sistem, dan 3 data lainnya mengalami pergeseran makna seperti pergeseran makna spesifik ke generik atau sebaliknya dan dari sudut pandang budaya. Penelitian ini penting karena dapat membantu peneliti untuk mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis pergeseran yang ditemukan dalam lirik lagu tersebut berdasarkan teori Catford

Penerapan Bottom-up Approach sebagai Dasar Pembelajaran Penerjemahan PKM Remaja Masjid Jami Baiturrahman Jakarta Barat

The purpose of this community service is how to implement the bottom-up approach is used as a basis for Indonesian-English or English-Indonesian translation learning for teenagers of Jami Baiturrahman Mosque in West Jakarta Even Semester 2018/2019. It focuses on: (1) translation theory must be mastered by students so that learning objectives are achieved and must be adapted to the cultural context of the source language; (2) various basic translation strategies; (3) translation teaching materials are arranged from an easy level to a difficult level in accordance with the school level; (4) learning material is developed with learning media that can motivate students; (5) community service team and youth work together to create conducive learning situations; (6) the use of infrastructure and learning media is sufficiently adjusted to the place of learning; (7) evaluation of translations is based on the accuracy, fairness, and clarity of the text. Based on the evaluation, there are still some students make repeated translation errors in the use of grammar, interpret idioms and look for the equivalent of the language from the source into the target language

PELATIHAN PERCAKAPAN BAHASA INGGRIS MELALUI MEDIA FILM DENGAN METODE DUBBING DAN SUBTITLING

Semakin pentingnya kemahiran bahasa Inggris di dunia global telah membuat setiap individu perlu mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi yang efektif dalam bahasa Inggris. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan keterampilan tersebut adalah melalui paparan media berbahasa Inggris, seperti film. Namun, untuk penutur asing dengan kemampuan bahasa Inggris yang terbatas, penggunaan subtitel atau sulih suara bisa lebih efektif. Studi ini mengeksplorasi efektivitas penggunaan dubbing dan subtitle dalam bahasa Indonesia sebagai metode untuk meningkatkan keterampilan percakapan bahasa Inggris. Melalui serangkaian sesi pelatihan yang menggunakan teknik dubbing dan subtitling, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa paparan media berbahasa Inggris dengan metode mana pun dapat meningkatkan keterampilan percakapan bahasa Inggris peserta secara signifikan, khususnya di bidang pengucapan dan pemahaman mendengarkan. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyoroti potensi dubbing dan subtitling sebagai metode pembelajaran bahasa yang efektif yang dapat melengkapi pengajaran kelas tradisional untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa dalam bahasa Inggris. Studi ini menekankan pentingnya pemaparan media dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan menyatakan bahwa dubbing dan subtitling adalah metode yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan percakapan bahasa Inggris. Studi yang dilakukan mengeksplorasi penggunaan teknik dubbing dan subtitle dalam bahasa Indonesia sebagai sarana untuk meningkatkan keterampilan percakapan bahasa Inggris. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa paparan film berbahasa Inggris dan acara TV dengan dubbing atau subtitle dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan peserta di berbagai bidang, seperti pengucapan dan pemahaman mendengarkan

A CONTRASTIVE LINGUISTIC APPROACH IN THE TRANSLATION OF INDONESIAN VERBS INTO ENGLISH

The aims of the research are to describe the importance ofword formation knowledgefor translators in translating the Indonesian word classes (verbs, nouns, andadjectives) into English and to contrast the translation of Indonesian word classes(verbs, nowis, and adjectives) into English in order tofind out the equivalence andshifts in form and meaning. The result shows that there are two main categorieswhich are equivalence and shit. This research produces wo data or iuo%. Theresult of this research shows that the shit occurs more than the equivalence, withthe percentage of66% shit, and the equivalence with the percentage of 34 %. Theequivalent category in verb word class: Textual equivalence in Syntactic, Linguisticequivalence in Syntactic. The equivalent category in noun word class: Textualequivalence in Morphological and Syntactic, Linguistic equivalence in Morphological.The equivalent category in adjective word class: Textual equivalence in Syntactic,Linguistic equivalence in Syntactic. The shift category in verb word class: Structureshits in Morphological, Unit shifts in Morphological and Syntactic. The Shiftcategory in noun word class: Structure shift in Word Order ofSyntactic, Unit shiftin Syntactic, Intra system shit in Syntactic. The shit category in adjective wordclass: Structure shift in Morphological and Syntactic. Based on the result above,so it can be concluded that the word formation knowledge is important fortranslators in translating the word classes, because the processes ofword formationmay help students to identify the word classes by using their marker

PENGEMBANGAN PROTATIK (PROGRAM TABEL FONETIK) BERBASIS WEBSITE SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN PRONUNCIATION PRACTICE

Abstract: This research aims to develop manual modules into a versatile technology web-based module in Phonetic Table Program PROTATIK web-based and to explain the interest and the influence of the media in Pronunciation Practice class FBS Indraprasta PGRI University Jakarta. Verbal-based learning such as English pronunciation practice requires the existence of an effective media because if it is directly given without media, inaccuracies in pronunciation, spelling, repetition will occur. The research belongs to Research and Development that includes conducting of a preliminary study to examine the theory and supervise the product, developing and testing or validating a new product. Whereas the development requires an analysis, develops syllabus and materials, creates and revises media. As conducting the try out in the end of the lesson, students are required to give comments on PROTATIK concerning the advantages, disadvantages, suggestions for improvement the media. Strategi Pengenalan Membaca Phonics Method dalam Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di Jakarta Selatan

Tujuan dilaksanakannya pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk menjelaskan bagaimana strategi pengenalan membaca kosakata bahasa Inggris melalui metode phonics bagi Guru di wilayah Jagakarsa Jakarta Selatan semester Gasal 2018/2019 dan menjelaskan produk luaran yang dihasilkan melalui strategi phonics dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Metode phonics merupakan salah satu metode membaca yakni “Para guru mengajarkan siswa bagaimana bunyi-bunyi huruf itu maupun mencampur bunyi-bunyi secara bersama-sama untuk  membentuk  kata dan metode bunyi (phonics method) merupakan suatu teknik belajar membaca yang menekankan pada bunyi (lafal pengucapan) yang dihasilkan oleh huruf-huruf yang terdapat di dalam kata  (bunyi semacam itu dapat berbeda dari nama-nama huruf ini, seperti dalam bahasa Inggris ketika bunyi huruf c [si] tidak sesuai dengan pengucapan kata [cat].” Selain itu, kelebihan metode ini adalah memudahkan siswa membuat hubungan otomatis antara kata dan bunyi, siswa dapat membunyikan dan membacanya sendiri. Pembelajaran bahasa Inggris menggunakan instruksi phonics lebih efektif daripada belajar membaca tanpa instruksi phonics. Mengacu pada hal tersebut disarankan bahwa bagi sekolah diharapkan mampu mengarahkan guru untuk menggunakan metode atau strategi pembelajaran yang mempu menarik antusias siswa dalam belajar serta menciptakan suasana kelas yang nyaman dan menyenangkan. Bagi guru, ketika pembelajaran berlangsung diharapkan ada dua orang guru atau lebih untuk mengondisikan serta diharapkan guru berbicara secara tepat dan lantang ketika pembunyian huruf phonics sehingga siswa mampu mendengar dengan jelas
