Follicular occlusion triad: an isotopic response or adverse effect of rituximab?
Follicular occlusion triad is a symptom complex of three conditions with a similar pathophysiology including hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), dissecting cellulitis of the scalp, and acne conglobata. Although the exact pathogenesis of the triad is unknown, it appears to be related to follicular occlusion in areas with apocrine glands. Wolf isotopic response refers to the occurrence of a new dermatosis at the site of another, unrelated, previously healed dermatosis. We present a 26-year-old man with a history of pemphigus foliaceus (PF) who developed large draining nodules with scarring and sinus tracts, compatible with follicular occlusion triad, preferentially at areas previously affected by PF thirteen months after treatment with rituximab. To the authors' knowledge there are no reported cases of follicular occlusion triad or HS manifesting as an isotopic response. However, one member of the triad, HS, has been reported to occur infrequently following the use of biologic agents such as adalimumab, infliximab, tocilizumab, and rituximab for chronic immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (psoriasis, Crohn disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis)
Eye movement sequences during simple versus complex information processing of scenes in autism spectrum disorder
Minshew and Goldstein (1998) postulated that autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a disorder of complex information processing. The current study was designed to investigate this hypothesis. Participants with and without ASD completed two scene perception tasks: a simple âspot the differenceâ task, where they had to say which one of a pair of pictures had a detail missing, and a complex âwhich one's weirdâ task, where they had to decide which one of a pair of pictures looks âweirdâ. Participants with ASD did not differ from TD participants in their ability to accurately identify the target picture in both tasks. However, analysis of the eye movement sequences showed that participants with ASD viewed scenes differently from normal controls exclusively for the complex task. This difference in eye movement patterns, and the method used to examine different patterns, adds to the knowledge base regarding eye movements and ASD. Our results are in accordance with Minshew and Goldstein's theory that complex, but not simple, information processing is impaired in ASD.<br/

Critical densities for the Skyrme type effective interactions
We use the stability conditions of the Landau parameters for the symmetric
nuclear matter and pure neutron matter to calculate the critical densities for
the Skyrme type effective nucleon-nucleon interactions. We find that the
critical density can be maximized by adjusting appropriately the values of the
enhancement factor associated with isovector giant dipole resonance,
the quantity which is directly related to the slope of the symmetry energy
and the Landau parameter . However, restricting , and
to vary within acceptable limits reduces the maximum value for the
critical density by . We also show that among the
various quantities characterizing the symmetric nuclear matter,
depends strongly on the isoscalar effective mass and

Comment on ``A new efficient method for calculating perturbative energies using functions which are not square integrable'': regularization and justification
The method recently proposed by Skala and Cizek for calculating perturbation
energies in a strict sense is ambiguous because it is expressed as a ratio of
two quantities which are separately divergent. Even though this ratio comes out
finite and gives the correct perturbation energies, the calculational process
must be regularized to be justified. We examine one possible method of
regularization and show that the proposed method gives traditional quantum

Diagonally-reinforced beamâcolumn joints reinforced under cyclic loading
The beam-column joints in a reinforced concrete frame are vulnerable to damage caused by seismic events. The conventional detailing using transverse hoops usually results in serious joint congestion, which creates contruction problems. This paper introduces a new detail especially developed for low to medium seismicity, which involves the use of additional diagonal bars in the joint. Six half-scale interior beam-column assemblies with different joint details, namely 'empty', nominal transverse reinforcement and diagonal bars, tested under reversed cyclic loading are reported. The empty joint is not suitable even under moderate seismicity. The test results show that the joints containing the newly proposed detail, with or without axial compressive load present in the column, exhibit better behaviour at the lower range of ductility factors in terms of higher load-carrying capacity, greater stiffness and less strength degradation. Therefore, the newly proposed joint detail is suitable for beam-column joints of reinforced concrete buildings located in regions of low to medium seismic risk.published_or_final_versio
Generalized Supersymmetric Perturbation Theory
Using the basic ingredient of supersymmetry, we develop a simple alternative
approach to perturbation theory in one-dimensional non-relativistic quantum
mechanics. The formulae for the energy shifts and wave functions do not involve
tedious calculations which appear in the available perturbation theories. The
model applicable in the same form to both the ground state and excited bound
states, unlike the recently introduced supersymmetric perturbation technique
which, together with other approaches based on logarithmic perturbation theory,
