Internal quality evolution of a large test system–an industrial study

This paper presents our empirical observations related to the evolution of a large automated test system. The system observed is used in the industry as a test tool for complex telecommunication systems, itself consisting of more than one million lines of source code. This study evaluates how different changes during the development have changed the number of observed Code Smells in the test system. Test software quality issues and connections to international standards

This paper examines how ISO/IEC 9126-1 and ISO/IEC 25010 quality models can be applied to software testing products in industrial environment. We present a set of code smells for test systems written in TTCN-3 and their categorization according to quality model standards. We demonstrate our measurements on industrial and ETSI projects, and provide a method for estimating their effects on product risks in current projects

Regular graphs are antimagic

An undirected simple graph G = (V,E) is called antimagic if there exists an injective function f: E → {1,…|E|} such that (formula presented) for any pair of different nodes u, v ∈ V. HABITS OF COMMUNICATION OF INTERNET USERS

This report is about a small scale study where frequent Internet users´ habits of communication (in the use of the Internet and mobile phone systems) in Hungary were investigated with questionnaires that were made accessible via the Internet. The results show that among the frequent Internet users the `dependent´ and `alienated´ types of usage are not characteristic. The latter one can be markedly distinguished from other intense use of the net. Among the intense users of the Internet email has become the prevailing tool of communication compared to other means. The anxiety of people who thought the lack of authentication dangerous has not proved true: methods develop among the users to check the trustworthiness of the source. The employers´ concerns seem to be supported, however, to the effect that employees, when they have the opportunity, do gladly resort to forms of communication by which they can discretely tend to their private matters

Terepkutatások történeti kertekben elpusztult emlékek után = Field research in historic gardens in quest of vanished relics

A kutatás eredeti célkitűzései szinte teljes egészében megvalósultak. Mindazokat a helyszíneket, amelyeket megneveztünk a kutatási tervben, alaposan megkutattunk, a veszprémi kanonoki kertek kivételével, amelyeket már nem tudtunk a programba beilleszteni az időközben ért pénzelvonások miatt. A kutatás iránya annyiban módosult, hogy a megváltozott anyagi körülmények miatt és az időközben ért szakmai kihívások következtében inkább egyes kertek alaposabb kutatására, és több szelvény feltárására vállalkoztunk, mint sok kertben történő kisebb szondázásra. Eredeti célkitűzésünknek megfelelően ugyanis eredményközpontú kutatásokat folytattuk, és ott vetettük be a műszert, ahol a korábbi eredmények további sikerekkel kecsegtettek. Szinte teljesen feltártuk a majki egykori kamalduli remeteség kertjét és az edelényi L'Huillier-Coburg-kastély kertjét. Ezen kívül Eszterházán, a bicskei Batthyány-kastély, csákvári Esterházy-kastély kertjeiben, és a balácapusztai római kori villagazdaság területén kutattunk. A korábban meg nem említett helyszínek közül különös figyelmet érdemel a péceli Ráday-kastély kertje, de igazoló méréseket végeztünk az középkori mázai apátság elpusztult épületeinek helyén is. A térinformatikai alkalmazást, vagyis a mérési eredményeknek a térképi adatokkal történő összevetését már a legelső évtől alkalmaztuk. Az adatokat ugyancsak az eredeti terveknek megfelelően a Magyar Kerttörténeti Archívumnak adtuk át. | The goals of the research have been almost entirely achieved. All the locations that we named in the research plan were placed under careful investigation, except the prebendial gardens in Veszprém due to the reduction of the research funds. The direction of the research has been slightly diverted due to the financial changes, and because of the results we achieved during the previous activities. It meant more detailed research of specific gardens instead of little research in many gardens. As we stated in our original research plan we employed the instrument in those sites where the initial results were more promising. The gardens of the former Camaldolese monastery in Majk and of the L'Huillier-Coburg castle in Edelény were almost entirely prospected. Additionally we did research in various other gardens like in Eszterháza, in the gardens of the Batthyány castle of Bicske and of the Esterházy castle of Csákvár, furthermore in the area of the ancient Roman villa of Balácapuszta. Special emphasis should be placed on a formerly not mentioned garden, the one of the Ráday castle of Pécel. We verified the site of the demolished medieval monastery of Máza as well. The use of GIS, that is overlaying the survey results with the topographic data, has been employed since the very first year of the research. The survey results have been uploaded into the Hungarian Garden History Database, as has been stated in the research plan
