    Discutindo a educação ambiental no cotidiano escolar: desenvolvimento de projetos na escola formação inicial e continuada de professores

    A presente pesquisa buscou discutir como a Educação Ambiental (EA) vem sendo trabalhada, no Ensino Fundamental e como os docentes desta escola compreendem e vem inserindo a EA no cotidiano escolar., em uma escola estadual do município de Tangará da Serra/MT, Brasil. Para tanto, realizou-se entrevistas com os professores que fazem parte de um projeto interdisciplinar de EA na escola pesquisada. Verificou-se que o projeto da escola não vem conseguindo alcançar os objetivos propostos por: desconhecimento do mesmo, pelos professores; formação deficiente dos professores, não entendimento da EA como processo de ensino-aprendizagem, falta de recursos didáticos, planejamento inadequado das atividades. A partir dessa constatação, procurou-se debater a impossibilidade de tratar do tema fora do trabalho interdisciplinar, bem como, e principalmente, a importância de um estudo mais aprofundado de EA, vinculando teoria e prática, tanto na formação docente, como em projetos escolares, a fim de fugir do tradicional vínculo “EA e ecologia, lixo e horta”.Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educació

    Invasion pathogenesis is one of the most complicated issues in the literature. There are numerous studies concerning the tumor markers implicated in the preinvasive-invasive tumor sequence. Despite ample studies on the invasion pathogenesis of cutaneous melanomas, there is limited and dispersed work presently available on non-melanoma skin cancer. The vast knowledge in the literature concerning this issue in squamous cell carcinoma comes mostly from the studies of the oral cavity, esophagus, larynx, and cervix. In this study, we investigated tumor-free neighboring stroma and tumor stroma in squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) of the skin as well as keratoacanthomas (KAs) with respect to the presence of stromal CD34-positive (CD34+) fibrocytes and alpha-smooth muscle actin-positive (alpha-SMA+) myofibroblasts using seborrheic keratosis (SKs) and non-tumoral skin samples as controls. We also evaluated the stromal expression pattern of CD26/DPPIV (CD26), a tumor suppressor gene product that also has immunoregulatory properties. Immunohistochemistry was performed on samples of 31 SCC, 8 KA, 15 SK and 10 non-tumoral skin samples. Peri-tumoral stroma from resection margins was also evaluated. We found that CD34 and alpha-SMA demonstrated significantly different staining between benign and malignant squamous skin lesions consisting of a loss of CD34+ fibrocytes paralleled by a gain of alpha-SMA+ myofibroblasts in malignant tumor stroma. Additionally, it was shown that CD26 expression was lower in tumor stroma when compared to that of tumor neighboring stroma. However, we concluded that this finding may be attributable to the solar elastosis areas in the peritumoral tissue, which shows diffuse strong positivity for this marker

    Latarjet, which is a coracoid bone block procedure, is an effective treatment for anterior shoulder instability with glenoid bone loss. During this reconstructive procedure the subscapularis may be tenotomized or be split to expose the glenoid neck. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of subscapularis management on functional outcomes and internal and external rotation durability and strength. Hypothesis is that the subscapularis split approach will result in better functional results and superior internal rotation strength and endurance

    Effect of histopathologic characteristics on pseudocapsular invasion in the case of partial nephrectomy for renal tumours

    Summary: Objective: It is aimed to define the existence of pseudocapsular structure on renal tumours, illuminate the relation between pseudocapsular invasion and Fuhrman grade histological type that are among histopathologic prognostic risk factors and determine the relation between surgical margin positivity and existence of pseudocapsular invasion. Sequential partial nephrectomy series and relevant pathological preparations were retrospectively reviewed in order to evaluate these issues. Methods: The study includes 123 patients diagnosed with T1 renal tumour and treated with partial nephrectomy in between January 2007 and June 2016. Benign angiomyolipoma was excluded due to complete non-existence of pseudocapsule. 99 T1 patients diagnosed with renal cell cancer whose pathological slides can be duly analysed were included in the study. Clinical and pathological details were evaluated for all patients. Existence of pseudocapsule was revealed for all patients. Pseudocapsule invasion was classified by existence of expansive and infiltrative type and non-existence of pseudocapsule invasion. The groups have been assessed by their histopathologic characteristics. Results: Compared to the group in which pseudocapsular invasion was not detected, clear-cell histological subtype was observed more frequently in a statistically significant way in the group with expansive pseudocapsular invasion and infiltrative pseudocapsular invasion respectively (p = 0.017 and p < 0.001). Pathological tumour sizes were found out to be statistically similar (p = 0.874). There was not a statistically significant difference in terms of Fuhrman grade (p = 0.220). There was not a statistically significant difference in terms of surgical positive margin (p = 0.609). Conclusion: It was indicated in our study that only the histological subtype affected pseudocapsular invasion in group of patients treated with partial nephrectomy but tumour size, tumour stage, tumour location as well as endophytic and exophytic character did not affect invasion. It has also been revealed that surgical margin positivity is not correlated with pseudocapsular invasion.     Comparative Effects Of Methylprednisolone And Tetracosactide (Acth1–24) On Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury Of The Rabbit Spinal Cord

    Introduction Tetracosactide is an engineered peptide that applies the same biological impacts as the endogenous adrenocorticotropic hormone. Previous studies indicated that tetracosactide has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neurotrophic activity. In this study, we hypothesized that tetracosactide may have protective effects in spinal cord ischemia-reperfusion injury. Material and methods Rabbits were randomized into the accompanying four groups of eight animals each: group 1 (control), group 2 (ischemia), group 3 (methylprednisolone) and group 4 (tetracosactide). In the control group, just a laparotomy was performed. In the various groups, the spinal cord ischemia model was made by the impediment of the aorta only caudal to the renal vein. Neurological assessment was conducted with the Tarlov scoring system. Levels of myeloperoxidase, malondialdehyde and catalase were analyzed, similar to the activities of xanthine oxidase and caspase-3. Histopathological and ultrastructural assessments were additionally performed. Results After ischemia-reperfusion injury, increments were found in the tissue myeloperoxidase levels (p < 0.001), malondialdehyde levels (p < 0.001), xanthine oxidase action (p < 0.001) and caspase-3 movement (p < 0.001). Conversely, both serum and tissue catalase levels were diminished (p < 0.001 for both). After the administration of tetracosactide, declines were seen in the tissue myeloperoxidase levels (p < 0.001), malondialdehyde levels (p = 0.003), xanthine oxidase action (p < 0.001) and caspase-3 movement (p < 0.001). Conversely, both the serum and tissue catalase levels were expanded (p < 0.001). Besides, tetracosactide treatment indicated enhanced results related to the histopathological scores (p < 0.001), the ultra-structural score (p = 0.008) and the Tarlov scores (p < 0.001). Conclusions The findings showed for the first time that tetracosactide shows significant neuroprotective activity against ischemia-reperfusion injury of the spinal cord.PubMedWoSScopu
