Character rigging is a process of endowing a character with a set of custom manipulators and controls making it easy to animate by the animators. These controls consist of simple joints, handles, or even separate character selection windows. This research paper present an automated rigging system for quadruped characters with custom controls and manipulators for animation. The full character rigging mechanism is procedurally driven based on various principles and requirements used by the riggers and animators. The automation is achieved initially by creating widgets according to the character type. These widgets then can be customized by the rigger according to the character shape, height and proportion. Then joint locations for each body parts are calculated and widgets are replaced programmatically. Finally a complete and fully operational procedurally generated character control rig is created and attached with the underlying skeletal joints. The functionality and feasibility of the rig was analyzed from various source of actual character motion and a requirements criterion was met. The final rigged character provides an efficient and easy to manipulate control rig with no lagging and at high frame rate.Comment: 21 pages, 24 figures, 4 Algorithms, Journal Pape

Negotiating Islam: Conservatism, Splintered Authority and Empowerment in Urban Bangladesh

Bangladesh has recently been seeing a rise in religiosity which has been treated as problematic, anti?secular and anti?progressive within the public sphere. Various writers describe this trend as having a disempowering effect on women and negating their self?expression. However, underlying these views is the assumption that the assertion of women's agency is not enough if it does not confront existing structures of relations. This article asks whether it is possible that in seeking changes in certain aspects of one's life, existing gender relations are not necessarily transformed, but indirectly challenged and reconfigured? The conclusion suggests that rather than a polarisation of the secular and religious ways of living most people are in fact in between, negotiating between the two camps, and borrowing ideas and ways from both

Diacerein is used for symptomatic relief and cartilage regeneration in osteoarthritis. Due to gastrointestinal side effects, poor aqueous solubility and low bioavailability, its clinical usage has been restricted. The objective of the present study was to enhance its dissolution profile and to attain sustained release by designing a novel delivery system based on niosomes. Five niosomal formulations (F1-F5) with non-ionic surfactant (sorbitan monostearate) and cholesterol in varying ratios of 5:5, 6:4, 7:3, 8:2 and 9:1 were developed by the reverse-phase evaporation technique. The size and polydispersivity index (PDI) were found in the range of 0.608 µm to 1.010 µm and 0.409 to 0.781, respectively. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the selected formulation (F3) revealed spherical vesicles, and 79.8% entrapment was achieved with F3 (7:3). Dissolution studies using the dialysis method showed sustained release behaviour for all formulations. The optimized surfactant-to-cholesterol concentration (7:3) in formulation F3sustained the drug-release time (T50%) up to 10 hours. Kinetic modelling exhibited a zero-order release (R2=0.9834) and the release exponent 'n' of the Korsmayer-Peppas model (n=0.90) confirmed non-fickian and anomalous release. The results of this study suggest that diacerein can be successfully entrapped into niosomes using sorbitan monostearate and that these niosomes have the potential to deliver diacerein efficiently at the absorption site

Ultra-thin Ti and Er co-doped HfO2 films were grown on Si substrate by RF sputtering at different compositions and subjected to rapid thermal annealing at 500?°C and 700?°C in nitrogen ambient for 60 s. Dielectric properties of ultrathin co doped with Tritium and Erbium into hafnium oxide (HfO2) with rapid thermal annealing (RTA) have been investigated. Ti and Er different contents doped HfO2 thin films about (5 to 10) nm thicknesses have been employed for Au/HfTiErO/Si/Au metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) structures fabrication. The fabricated MOS (Au/HfTiErO/Si/Au) structure has been used for extracting electrical properties such that, dielectric constant, effective charge carriers, flat band voltage, interface trap density and doping concentration through capacitance voltage measurements. The films compared at different contents used for Ti and Er doped with HfO2 on growth parameters, which could not showed excellent properties due to small thickness and other several defects during the depositions. While, the film annealed at 500?°C has the improved microstructure and electrical characteristics. Furthermore Atomic force microscopy and X-ray photo electron microscopy analysis verified the microstructure of HfTiErO gate oxide for future MOS devices.   Keywords: high-k, HfTiErO, Thin films, rf Sputterin

Diagnostic Measures in Childhood Tuberculosis: A Short Review

    Get PDF
The trends of incidence, morbidity and mortality of tuberculosis in children have always remained unclear because of lack of a definitive diagnostic tool in mostly cases. The diagnosis of tuberculosis in children remains a major challenge as it is seldom confirmed and is mostly based on clinical signs, symptoms and special investigations e. g. TST, chest X-ray and sputum smear microscopy. Sputum smear microscopy is positive in less than 10-15% of children with TB and culture yields are nearly about 30-40%. In low burden countries, the triad of (a) known contact with an infectious source case, (b) a positive tuberculin skin test and (c) a suggestive CXR is usually used to establish a diagnosis of childhood TB. The research on childhood tuberculosis is often neglected due to technical difficulties like slow growth in culture, the difficulty of obtaining specimens and the diverse and relatively nonspecific clinical presentation of tuberculosis in this age group. The complexity in making an exact diagnosis of tuberculosis in children have led to the development of several diagnostic approaches like point scoring systems, diagnostic classifications and diagnostic algorithms. The aim of this study was to review and analyse the different diagnostic approaches to childhood tuberculosis. In this paper, the mostly used techniques like culture methods as well as the non-culture methods including serology, biochemistry and polymerase chain reaction and DNA fingerprinting for the diagnosis of tuberculosis will be discussed. Hybrid Nano-carriers for Potential Drug Delivery

    Get PDF
Nanocarriers have provided the versatile platform for the delivery of various therapeutic and diagnostic agents. Liposome, niosomes, polymeric and solid lipid nanoparticles are the most promising nanocarriers that have been entered in the clinical trials and become commercially available. However, each system has been associated with some problems that can be minimized by using the combinatorial approach of hybrid nanocarriers. These hybrid systems combine the benefits of different structural components to synergize the outcome of the therapy. In this chapter, the different types of hybrid nanocarriers have been described with particular emphasis on the brief rationale for the development of these hybrid nanocarriers along with different fabrication approaches with greater emphasize on the lipid polymer hybrid nanoparticles. A brief description factors governing the optimized response characteristics and their potential application of these hybrid nanoparticles are also presented

The synthetic polymers and their combinations were employed to retard the release of nimesulide from microcapsules. Microcapsules were prepared in different ratios of Eudragit RL 100 and hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) separately and in combination. All formulations of microcapsules were compressed to tablets. Dissolution of microcapsules and their tablets was performed by USP-apparatus-II in 900 mL borate buffer of pH 8.4 at 37.0 ± 0.5 ºC, at 50 rpm. In vitro kinetics was determined by various models including Zero order, First Order, Higuchi, Korsmeyer-Peppas and Hixson-Crowell. Eudragit showed higher retarding effect over extended period of time on release of drug than HPMC alone or its combination with Eudragit.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire
