A curiosidade denegada: quando a infância negligenciada favorece o risco ao abuso sexual

For this work, we adopted the analysis methodology based on a bibliography on child sexual abuse, a theme that contains within itself the ambivalence of being taboo and urgent. Taboo, for being prohibited and surrounded by secrets, discrimination, prejudice and urgent, since it is necessary to provide adequate spaces, ethical and scientifically supported, given the growing and accentuated occurrence of this mode of rape and violence against children. We aim to analyze the importance of Child Sexual Education, so that its work in school education is combined with a legitimate and socially responsible device as a contribution to the fight against child sexual abuse.Para el presente trabajo adoptamos la metodología de análisis basada en una bibliografía sobre abuso sexual infantil, tema que contiene en sí mismo la ambivalencia de ser tabú y urgente. Tabú, por estar prohibido y rodeado de secretos, discriminación, prejuicio y urgencia, ya que es necesario brindar espacios adecuados, éticos y sustentados científicamente, dada la creciente y acentuada ocurrencia de esta modalidad de violación y violencia contra los niños. Nuestro objetivo es analizar la importancia de la Educación Sexual Infantil y que su labor en la educación escolar se alíe como un dispositivo legítimo y socialmente responsable como un aporte a la lucha contra el abuso sexual infantil.Para o presente trabalho adotamos a metodologia de análise a partir de bibliografia sobre o abuso sexual infantil, tema que encerra em si mesmo a ambivalência de ser tabu e urgente. Tabu, por ser proibido e cercado de segredos, discriminação, preconceito e urgente, pois se faz necessária a disponibilização de espaços adequados, éticos e cientificamente respaldados, dada a crescente e acentuada ocorrência deste modo de violação e violência contra a infância. Genetic diversity and efficiency of DNA microsatellites for genealogic control in Nelore breed

The genetic variability and paternity testing values in Nelore breed were estimated using 11 ISAG/FAO microsatellites. The markers were organized into 4 amplification groups for semi-automated fluorescence genotyping. All markers were highly polymorphic, with an average of 8.2 alleles per locus. With a mean value of 0.48, the observed heterozygosity was lower than the expected for 10 of the loci. A significant deficit of heterozygotes was observed for 9 loci, resulting in a lack of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the studied population. Polymorphism information content values exceeded 0.5 for 10 loci. The power of discrimination was >0.999 and paternity exclusion probabilities when a mother, her offspring and a putative sire are compared or when one or other parental genotype is unavailable for the combined set of markers were, respectively, >0.999 and >0.989. The set of 11 microsatellite markers proved to be an efficient tool for paternity testing in Nelore cattle.Foram estimados na raça Nelore a variabilidade genética e os valores de determinação de paternidade usando-se 11 marcadores microssatélites do painel ISAG/FAO. Estes foram organizados em quatro conjuntos de amplificação para genotipagem semi-automática por fluorescência. Todos os marcadores apresentaram-se altamente polimórficos, com média de 8,2 alelos por loco. A heterozigosidade observada, com média de 0,48, foi menor que a esperada em 10 locos. Foram observadas deficiências de heterozigotos em nove locos, o que resultou no desequilíbrio de Hardy-Weinberg para a população estudada. O conteúdo polimórfico informativo foi superior a 0,5 em 10 locos. O poder de discriminação foi >0,999 e as probabilidades de exclusão de paternidade quando são conhecidos os genótipos de um bezerro, sua mãe e um pai alegado, ou quando um ou outro genótipo parental não está disponível, para o conjunto de marcadores foram >0,999 e >0,989, respectivamente. O conjunto de 11 marcadores constitui método eficiente para a determinação de paternidade na raça Nelore

The prion protein and New World primate phylogeny

The PrPC prion protein contains 250 amino acids with some variation among species and is expressed in several cell types. PrPC is converted to PrPSc by a post-translational process in which it acquires amino acid sequences of three-dimensional conformation of -sheets. Variations in the prion protein gene were observed among 16 genera of New World primates (Platyrrhini), and resulted in amino acid substitutions when compared with the human sequence. Seven substitutions not yet described in the literature were found: W R at position 31 in Cebuella, T A at position 95 in Cacajao and Chiropotes, N S at position 100 in Brachyteles, L Q at position 130 in Leontopithecus (in the sequence responsible for generating the -sheet 1), D E at position 144 in Lagothrix (in the sequence responsible for the -helix 1), D G at position 147 in Saguinus (also located in the -helix 1 region), and M I at position 232 in Alouatta. The phylogenetic trees generated by parsimony, neighbor-joining and Bayesian analyses strongly support the monophyletic status of the platyrrhines, but did not resolve relationships among families. ACUMULAÇÃO DE CAPITAL, METAS DE INFLAÇÃO E POLÍTICA FISCAL EM UM MODELO KALDORIANO

The objective of this article is to analyse the relations between fiscal and monetary policy in an economy that operates under Inflation Targeting Regime with full utilization of productive capacity. In order to do that, it is developed a Kaldorin macrodynamic model in which the adjustment between investment and saving is done my changes in the profit share. Inflation resulted from distributive conflict between capitalists and workers, in a such way that the increase in profit share that came from an increase in investment rate will force workers to claim an increase in wages, causing a wage-price spiral and an increase in the short-run equilibrium level of inflation, that will be higher than the target level of inflation defined by Central Bank. In the long run, the increase in the profit share and in the inflation rate will result in adjustments either in the level of interest rate as in the level of capacity utilization. In such framework, a contractionary fiscal policy will produce a reduction in the long-run equilibrium value of interest rate with zero or negligible negative effect over capacity utilization. But a flexibilization of Inflation Targeting Regime will produce a decrease in the long-run equilibrium level of interest rate and a non-negligible increase in the level of capacity utilization.O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar a relação entre a política fiscal e a política monetária em uma economia que opera sob o regime de metas de inflação e com plena utilização da capacidade produtiva. Para tanto, apresenta-se um modelo macrodinâmico kaldoriano, no qual o ajuste entre investimento e poupança é feito por intermédio de variações da participação dos lucros na renda nacional. A inflação resulta do conflito entre capitalistas e trabalhadores pela repartição da renda, de tal forma que um aumento da participação dos lucros induzido pelo acréscimo da taxa de investimento irá levar os trabalhadores a reivindicarem aumentos de salário, os quais serão devidamente repassados para os preços, resultando assim em uma “espiral preços-salários” e em uma taxa de inflação de equilíbrio de curto-prazo, a qual poderá ser maior do que a meta de inflação definida pela autoridade monetária. No longo prazo, o aumento da taxa de inflação e da participação dos lucros na renda nacional irá induzir ajustes tanto na taxa de juros como no grau desejado de utilização da capacidade produtiva. Uma política fiscal contracionista irá resultar em uma redução do valor de equilíbrio de longo prazo da taxa de juros, com efeito nulo ou levemente negativo sobre o grau de utilização da capacidade produtiva. Já uma política de flexibilização do regime de metas de inflação será compatível tanto com a redução do valor de equilíbrio da taxa de juros como com um aumento (não desprezível) do grau de utilização da capacidade

UMA ANÁLISE DO PROCESSO DE GESTÃO DA EDUCAÇÃO A DISTÂNCIA EM UMA UNIVERSIDADE PÚBLICA DA REGIÃO SUDESTE

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar os processos de gestão da educação a distância (EaD) em instituições públicas de ensino superior (IPES). O trabalho se baseia em um estudo de caso em uma IPES. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas e pesquisa documental. Foi possível observar que o surgimento da EaD na IPES estudada apresentou características bastante específicas. Até o advento da Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB), a EaD sequer constava no Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PDI) da IPES. Constatou-se que a IPES estudada não tem de fato políticas bem definidas para a EaD. Ela ainda depende muito das iniciativas isoladas de alguns poucos docentes. A EAD não está consolidada na instituição e não há de fato interesse da sua alta gestão em expandir as ações. A estrutura administrativa e acadêmica é muito rígida e dificulta o desenvolvimento das ações de EaD, em especial em termos de prazos para aprovações de projetos e relatórios. Editais da UAB têm sido abertos recentemente e projetos não têm sido enviados. O setor de apoio à EaD da instituição atua satisfatoriamente como suporte administrativo para os cursos a distância em funcionamento

Diversity and three-dimensional structures of the alpha Mcr of the methanogenic Archaea from the anoxic region of Tucuruí Lake, in Eastern Brazilian Amazonia

Methanogenic archaeans are organisms of considerable ecological and biotechnological interest that produce methane through a restricted metabolic pathway, which culminates in the reaction catalyzed by the Methyl-coenzyme M reductase (Mcr) enzyme, and results in the release of methane. Using a metagenomic approach, the gene of the α subunit of mcr (mcrα) was isolated from sediment sample from an anoxic zone, rich in decomposing organic material, obtained from the Tucuruí hydroelectric dam reservoir in eastern Brazilian Amazonia. The partial nucleotide sequences obtained were 83 to 95% similar to those available in databases, indicating a low diversity of archaeans in the reservoir. Two orders were identified - the Methanomicrobiales, and a unique Operational Taxonomic Unit (OTU) forming a clade with the Methanosarcinales according to low bootstrap values. Homology modeling was used to determine the three-dimensional (3D) structures, for this the partial nucleotide sequence of the mcrα were isolated and translated on their partial amino acid sequences. The 3D structures of the archaean Mcrα observed in the present study varied little, and presented approximately 70% identity in comparison with the Mcrα of Methanopyrus klanderi. The results demonstrated that the community of methanogenic archaeans of the anoxic C1 region of the Tucurui reservoir is relatively homogeneous

XIGUBOS, PANDEIROS E ATABAQUES: INSTRUMENTOS COMO MEIO DE ACESSO AO SOBRENATURAL NO BRASIL E EM MOÇAMBIQUE

Este artigo busca traçar conexões que determinados instrumentos musicais executam entre o plano dos seres humanos e o plano do sagrado em distintos contextos religiosos. Serão analisados o xigubo nos cultos zione de Moçambique e, no Brasil, o uso do pandeiro na igreja Assembleia de Deus, e do atabaque no candomblé por meio de etnografias feitas por um músico e dois antropólogos. Para tanto, adentramos em temas como permissões de uso, posição dentro do rito, eletrificação e corporeidade, para demonstrar como tal conexão é implementada. O papel de mídia exercido pelos instrumentos musicais investigados demonstra que, mesmo em campos de pesquisa com pouca (ou nenhuma) relação entre si, o contato entre ambos os planos (humano e sobrenatural) tem na música produzida a corrente de contato que conecta os seres humanos ao sagrado
