Goethe’s novel Die Wahlverwandtschaften, published in 1809, is also a way of articulating knowledge around an anecdotal event, so that it may reach a symbolic nature. The centre around which anecdote and knowledge turn – that is the plot of the novel – is the garden around the castle of the baron Eduard. This knowledge is filed, collected, planed, reorientated and put into practice in the novel. All these actions, whose common direct object is the garden – understood as knowledge –, involve a way of formulating and presenting time. That is the reason why I conceive the relation between time and garden as the main matter of this article. A subject I will discuss regarding it from two different points of view: the first, philosophical, the second, from the field of Poetics. All of this will lead to the conclusion that the aesthetic – in an etymological sense – way of understanding the garden in the novel results form the combination of some crucial elements that turn it into a heterotopia.
The European higher education has led to a new organization of university
education as well as a change in teaching methodology that traditionally had been
applied in the field of legal science. It is no longer sufficient knowledge, but should go
further in the learning process by providing students with certain skills or abilities. One
of the arguments that hard, has been put foward to show reluctance to this process of
“learning to learn, put of the differences between that have determined different ways
of teaching law. Wich for centuries the training of lawyers has been performed in
different ways has its historical reason, the strong encoder component that
characterizes our system has made the lectura pedagogical technique most used, while
the way of conceiving the right of countries Anglo-Saxon tradition have led to more
active methodologies in the learning process. This leads us to reflect on wether
learning by competencias have fi tinto a system like ows continental tradition and
study plans are designed as today. But the main focus of our reflection should focus on the student, whether truly is providing better training or whether we have tried to do

The article’s proposal is to compare two textual spaces –Juan Goytisolo’s Makbara and Elias Canetti’s The Voices of Marrakesh– build as stages. Upon their fictional boards a figural composition is played, which gives life and form to a square –the Djemaa-el-Fna of Marrakesh–, which impresses and marvels the reader built up by Goytisolo and the Elias Canetti’s homonym narrator. The main figures of this orientalistic carnivalistic world represented by and for Europeans are not only the grotesque players which are placed on the stage: the voice and the space itself are part of the strategic creation of this textual “non-place”, which is a physiognomic and a tectonic kaleidoscope, that remains invisible.
Hybrid type theory: a quartet in four movements
This paper sings a song -a song created by bringing together the work of four great names in the history of logic: Hans Reichenbach, Arthur Prior, Richard Montague, and Leon Henkin. Although the work of the first three of these authors have previously been combined, adding the ideas of Leon Henkin is the addition required to make the combination work at the logical level. But the present paper does not focus on the underlying technicalities (these can be found in Areces, Blackburn, Huertas, and Manzano [to appear]) rather it focusses on the underlying instruments, and the way they work together. We hope the reader will be tempted to sing along
Properties of hadrons in the quark model
This work focuses on developing a model that predicts the existence of some of the baryons
measured experimentally, as well as explaining properties such as spin, parity and mass.
This is done in the context of the quark model in quantum mechanics. The mathematical
background is provided by the theory of groups and representations, presented briefly
in the first part of the project. After that, the states describing the different degrees
of freedom for the baryons are obtained with their corresponding symmetry properties.
The symmetry of the states is important in order to construct the complete wavefunction
for the system since baryons are fermions, thus they follow the Pauli exclusion principle. Finally, baryons are identified following experimental data and the results derived
throughout the work.
