The overriding purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the differences in listening and speaking performance of first grades who are divided into two groups: participants and non-participants of an immersion classroom in a public school this program is classified as early partial immersion by a set of features established by (Courcy, 2002) and (Lambert, 1975 ) This study intends to measure the influence of the immersion classes implemented by first time by the ‘Secretaria de Educación distrital’ in its participants and in the listening and speaking skills, therefore over a three-week period, the whole group of participants were exposed to series of listening and speaking activities in a pedagogical intervention based on learners EFL learning processes and some tasks to develop those competences; the second form used to identify the differences among the participants was by directly observing the immersion classes. Participants and non-participants performance were analyzed and compared, we gathered information by using voice and recordings and observations of the immersion classes, in order to find the main differences between both groups of participants. The results indicate that participants of the immersion developed a better listening skill while non-participants are more accurate referring to speaking in the target language. These findings are interpreted as evidenced that early language immersion contributes to the acquisition of listening and awareness of sound, and also the activities designed in the pedagogical intervention reached a significant progress in speaking performances in all the participants, but especially in non-participants of the immersion program

Generation of H₂ on Board Lng Vessels for Consumption in the Propulsion System

[Abstract] At present, LNG vessels without reliquefaction plants consume the BOG (boil-off gas) in their engines and the excess is burned in the gas combustion unit without recovering any of its energy content. Excess BOG energy could be captured to produce H₂, a fuel with high energy density and zero emissions, through the installation of a reforming plant. Such H₂ production would, in turn, require on-board storage for its subsequent consumption in the propulsion plant when navigating in areas with stringent anti-pollution regulations, thus reducing CO₂ and SOₓ emissions. This paper presents a review of the different H₂ storage systems and the methods of burning it in propulsion engines, to demonstrate the energetic viability thereof on board LNG vessels. Following the analysis, it is identified that a pressurised and cooled H₂ storage system is the best suited to an LNG vessel due to its simplicity and the fact that it does not pose a safety hazard. There are a number of methods for consuming the H₂ generated in the DF engines that comprise the propulsión plant, but the use of a mixture of 70% CH₄-30% H₂ is the most suitable as it does not require any modifications to the injection system. Installation of an on-board reforming plant and H₂ storage system generates sufficient H₂ to allow for almost 3 days’ autonomy with a mixture of 70%CH₄-30%H₂. This reduces the engine consumption of CH₄ by 11.38%,thus demonstrating that the system is not only energy-efficient, but lends greater versatility to the vessel

Introduction: In Spain there has been an increase in the dependency ratio, care taking care of women mostly, informally, without financial compensation and lasting for many years. For this reason, what is known as caregiver overload appears, which, together with continuous stress, can lead to the so-called Burnout syndrome. Due to this, needs are emerging on the part of the caregivers, such as a good social and family support network and the capacity for resilience. Community nursing has a key role in providing support and advice. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a psychoeducational intervention based on social support to strengthen resilience, improve experience and reduce overload n informal caregivers/caregivers of immobilized patients.Study Design: Analytical, prospective, quasi-experimental study without control group. ntervention: A psychoeducational intervention program will be carried out, through which informal caregivers/s will be provided with information in skills and strategies for stress management, the emotional overload and adaptive coping. It will include the creation of a virtual community of social support with nursing advice. Nine group sessions will be led by a primary care nurse. Expected impact: Taking the data from Area VIII as a reference, in which mmobilized patients represent 0.40% of the population, it is estimated that the Murcian Health Service as a whole assists 5,971 people with this condition. If it is assumed that they suffer a significant loss of autonomy that requires the support of a caregiver, the implementation of an intervention such as the one proposed in this study could improve the resilience capacity and reduce the level of overload of approximately 5,000 caregivers. /as informal

    Case Report: Rhinosporidiosis Literature Review

Rhinosporidiosis is caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi, a pathogen currently considered a fungus-like parasite of the eukaryotic group Mesomycetozoea. It is usually a benign condition, with slow growth of polypoid lesions, with involvement of the nose, nasopharynx, or eyes. The clinical characteristics of a painless, friable, polypoid mass, usually unilateral, can guide the diagnosis, but the gold standard for diagnosis is histopathological findings. This article reviews the epidemiology, pathobiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic strategies, and treatment approach for rhinosporidiosis

Italian Dyslexia Association (Messina section); Orientation and Placement Centre -University of Messina (Italy)Although the number of students with dyslexia enrolled in Italian universities is constantly growing, their presence remains relatively limited. The aim of this study was therefore to investigate the choices made by students with dyslexia in relation to university studies, and the underlying reasons for their choices. This study also compares these choices for students with and without dyslexia. In all, 440 high school students and their families agreed to take part in this project. Socio-demographic data was collected for the 47 students with dyslexia and 47 class-matched students without dyslexia, along with information on their current schools and their future educational plans. A specially developed questionnaire was used for the students, in combination with structured interviews with their families. The results show significant differences between these groups regarding both choices for university studies and the underlying motivations for these choices. Furthermore, certain psychological and emotional factors are implicated here in the decisions of the students with dyslexia regarding both university studies and their underlying reasons. Future research is needed to further investigate these factors in the educational choices of students with dyslexia.Italian Dyslexia Association (Messina section)Orientation and Placement Centre - University of Messina (Italy
