Galaxy evolution in groups. NGC 3447/NGC 3447A: the odd couple in LGG 225

Local Group Analogs (LGA) are galaxy associations dominated by few bright Spirals, reminiscent of the LG. The NGC3447/NGC3447A system, member of the LGG 225 group, a nearby LGA, is considered a physical pair: an intermediate luminosity late type spiral, NGC3447, and an irregular companion, NGC3447A, linked by a faint filament of matter. A ring-like structure in the NGC3447 outskirts is emphasised by UV observations. This work aims to contribute to the understanding of galaxy evolution in low density environments, favourable habitat to highly effective encounters. We performed a multi-wavelength analysis of the surface photometry of this system to derive spectral energy distribution and structural properties using UV and optical images. We also characterised the velocity field of the pair using new kinematic observations. All these data are used to constrain smooth particle hydrodynamic simulations with chemo-photometric implementation to shed light on the evolution of this system. Luminosity profiles are all consistent with the presence of a disc extending and including NGC3447A. The overall velocity field does not emphasise any significant rotation pattern, rather a small velocity gradient between NGC3447 and NGC3447A. Our simulation, detached from a large grid explored to best-fit the global properties of the system, suggests that this arises from an encounter between two halos of equal mass. NGC3447 and NGC3447A belong to the same halo, NGC3447A being a substructure of the same disk as NGC3447. The halo gravitational instability, enhanced by the encounter, fuels a long lived instability in this dark matter dominated disk, driving its morphology. This system may warn about a new class of "false pairs" and the potential danger of a misunderstanding of such objects in pair surveys that could produce a severe underestimate of the total mass of the system. Gualaceo sin contaminación visual

El Proyecto de Tesis, Gualaceo sin Contaminación Visual se basa en los efectos, causas y posibles soluciones que se plantea para erradicar la publicidad exagerada en los locales comerciales, principalmente del Centro Histórico y Áreas Patrimoniales del cantón. Se analizó a Gualaceo con el fin de identificar el problema específico que posee, ya que al ser un cantón netamente comercial, sufre de una publicidad mal enfocada, la cual no cumple con su objetivo de comunicar a los posibles compradores los productos o servicios que el comerciante ofrece. Conjuntamente con el I. Municipio de Gualaceo y su Departamento de Planificación, socializamos el proyecto a los habitantes del cantón (publicistas, dueños de los locales comerciales y dirigentes barriales), para darles a conocer el objetivo y los beneficios de un cantón más limpio visualmente, aplicando una publicidad adecuada. Visitamos las ciudades de Quito, Riobamba, Cuenca y Loja, en las que ya se ha aplicado este tipo de regulaciones; después de las encuestas realizadas a los turistas, tomando en cuenta las sugerencias por parte de los ciudadanos y basándonos en las ordenanzas de las ciudades visitadas elaboramos La ordenanza que regula la publicidad exterior en la circunscripción territorial del cantón Gualaceo la misma que posterior a varias sesiones de Consejo, fue aprobada y entró en plena vigencia desde el 13 de Junio del 2011, en la actualidad se está promoviendo la aplicación de dicha ordenanza en todo el cantón.Licenciado en Ciencias de la Educación. Un problema de generalización de patrones: una herramienta para desarrollar el pensamiento algebraico “un estudio de caso”

En esta experiencia se discute la emergencia del pensamiento algebraico y la presencia de los niveles de algebrización propuesta por Godino, Aké, Gonzato y Wilhelmi, (2014) en las producciones matemáticas realizadas por 4 estudiantes de diferentes grados de escolaridad, ante un problema de generalización de patrones figúrales. Igualmente se presentan algunos resultados alcanzados por los estudiantes, los cuales se analizarán bajo algunos aspectos del pensamiento algebraico expuestos por Vergel, (2015) permitiéndonos reflexionar sobre la importancia de la aplicación de esta clase de tareas en la escuela. Finalmente, esto contribuirá significativamente en nuestra práctica educativa permitiéndonos ganar experiencia y hacer evidente lo que parece invisible para nuestros ojos

Kinematics of Herbig-Haro Objects and Jets in the Orion Nebula

We have surveyed the inner 5' of the Orion Nebula by means of Halpha and [NII] Fabry-Perot imaging spectroscopy to present a kinematical study of the Herbig-Haro objects in the nebula. The objects studied in this work are HH 202, 203, 204, 529, 269 and other associated features. For HH 202 we find new features that, because of their high velocities (up to 100 km/seg) indicate the presence of an outflow that probably is a HH flow not catalogued previously. HH 202 could be only a part of this larger outflow. Large internal motions are found in the fainter regions of HH 203-204, as well as evidence of transverse density gradients that could account for the asymmetry in the brightness distribution of HH 204. We report for the first time a high blueshifted velocity (-118 km/seg) associated with HH 204, and show that the apex of HH 204 is indeed the zone of maximum velocity, in agreement with bow shock models. We also studied the radial velocity field of HH 269 finding features associated with the HH object. From our studies, we find kinematic evidence that suggests that HH 203-204 and HH 202 are part of a big (aprox. 0.55 pc) bipolar HH outflow.Comment: 24 pages, 10 figures (in three jpg files). Optimization of the diffraction efficiency in photorefractive crystals

The aim of this work is to study and to optimize the diffraction efficiency in sillenite BTO crystals. A theoretical analysis, where the effects of coupling beams are significant,is carried on. In addition, non-mobile transmission gratings are considered. The diffraction efficiency is obtained by using the coupled wave equations in on-Bragg regime using Method Runge-Kutta of order 4 in Matlab. Sugar cane and access of drinking water at Candelaria, valle del Cauca, Colombia 1945-1970

Colombia es el séptimo productor de azúcar en el mundo. Candelaria, un pequeño municipio donde se ubican cinco de los trece ingenios más importantes del país, no tiene agua para beber: está contaminada y monopolizada por el azúcar. Unidad de negocio Escuela Hotel Universidad -Empresa - Estado caso de estudio: Escuela de Turismo Sostenible de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira y Movich Hotel de Pereira

El presente proyecto de grado, formula un plan de negocios para la creación de una Escuela Hotel, como unidad de negocio, basado en la triada UNIVERSIDAD – EMPRESA – ESTADO; enfocando sus esfuerzos en el caso de estudio entre la Escuela de Turismo Sostenible de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira y Movich hotel de Pereira y delimitando su alcance a los subsectores del turismo comprendidos en la hotelería, establecimientos gastronómicos, eventos y convenciones. Se desarrolla una revisión de las experiencias similares a nivel mundial, un análisis técnico – operativo con la creación de 14 productos en formación práctica, una investigación de mercados con estrategias de comercialización, una estructura organizacional y legal además de las proyecciones y estados financieros necesarios para funcionamiento de la Escuela Hotel como unidad de negocio. Por último se incluyen una serie de conclusiones y recomendaciones a la Escuela de Turismo Sostenible, que es la llamada a darle vida a este proyecto.This Project proposes as a business plan for the creation of a Hotel School, based on the triad University-Enterprise-State; focused on the case study between the tourism school of the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira and Movich Hotel de Pereira, included the sub-sectors of the tourism such as: Hotels, restaurants, events and conventions.
