Photovoltaic charging multi-station with modular architecture for Light Electric Vehicles

This paper deals with a modular architecture for recharging the batteries of light electric vehicles (LEVs) using a photovoltaic (PV) generator. The architecture is divided into two hierarchical levels. At the top level (master), a microcontroller tracks the maximum power point of the PV generator. This microcontroller executes a PID control algorithm whose output is the setpoint of the microcontrollers of the lower level. At the lower level (slaves) there is a microcontroller for each vehicle charging station. Each microcontroller controls the recharge current of the vehicle battery connected to the station by executing another PID control algorithm. The modular architecture allows the number of charging stations to be extended to 112. Las conclusiones apuntan una sobrevaloración instrumental de la dominación mercantil antillana destinada a obtener ventajas en la política comercial española que, sin embargo, contribuyó a fomentar una conciencia de dependencia en vísperas de la guerra de emancipación.This article examines the evolution of trade exchange between Spain and Cuba from 1878 to 1898, the variations in the volume and composition of the transactions and their effect on Spanish and Cuban economies as a whole, reviewing the impact of peninsular exports on the colonial market. The conclusions point to an instrumental overvaluation of Antillas' mercantile domination aiming to obtain advantages in Spain's commercial policy, which nevertheless helped to foster an awareness of dependence on the eve of the war of independence.Publicad

Mathematical modelling of virus RSV: qualitative properties, numerical solutions and validation for the case of the region of Valencia

El objetivo de esta memoria se centra en primer lugar en la modelización del comportamiento de enfermedades estacionales mediante sistemas de ecuaciones diferenciales y en el estudio de las propiedades dinámicas tales como positividad, periocidad, estabilidad de las soluciones analíticas y la construcción de esquemas numéricos para las aproximaciones de las soluciones numéricas de sistemas de ecuaciones diferenciales de primer orden no lineales, los cuales modelan el comportamiento de enfermedades infecciosas estacionales tales como la transmisión del virus Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV). Se generalizan dos modelos matemáticos de enfermedades estacionales y se demuestran que tiene soluciones periódicas usando un Teorema de Coincidencia de Jean Mawhin. Para corroborar los resultados analíticos, se desarrollan esquemas numéricos usando las técnicas de diferencias finitas no estándar desarrolladas por Ronald Michens y el método de la transformada diferencial, los cuales permiten reproducir el comportamiento dinámico de las soluciones analíticas, tales como positividad y periocidad. Finalmente, las simulaciones numéricas se realizan usando los esquemas implementados y parámetros deducidos de datos clínicos De La Región de Valencia de personas infectadas con el virus RSV. Se confrontan con las que arrojan los métodos de Euler, Runge Kutta y la rutina de ODE45 de Matlab, verificándose mejores aproximaciones para tamaños de paso mayor a los que usan normalmente estos esquemas tradicionales.Arenas Tawil, AJ. But this progress has not only come from the hand of science, society as a whole has had to adapt to this new reality and regulatory bodies and laws have emerged to guarantee and provide security to the general population. With society increasingly able to access information and therefore able to speak up when doubts or uncertainties arise, it is the responsibility of science and engineering to be fully transparent and to work flat out to obtain results that satisfy everyone. In the field of vaccines, this has translated into the development of new types of vaccines different from those traditionally used, such as messenger RNA vaccines like those approved for the fight against COVID-19. But it has not stopped there. The entire production process, from the selection of the cell culture to be used to the addition of stabilisers just prior to distribution, has been innovated as needed. In upstream processing, higher and higher yields of cells are achieved in which to grow the pathogen or antigen needed for the vaccine, and improvements have also been made in the design of stirrers and the growth medium itself. While in downstream processing, with increasingly severe restrictions on quality control with respect to contaminants or residues, higher and higher yields are being achieved using technologies such as chromatography, diafiltration or gradient centrifugation All of this has made it possible to dream that dealing with increasingly complex diseases caused by infectious agents is no longer a utopia.
