Çalışmada kullanılan köprü Euler-Bernoulli kiriş teoremine göre, tren ise bir dizi hareketli kuvvetten meydana gelen kuvvet serisi olarak modellenmiştir. Eurostar YHT etkisindeki basit mesnetli bir köprü üzerinde gerçekleştirilen analizler, rezonans hızı altında meydana gelen titreşimlerin azaltılmasında SAKS'ın tek bir ayarlı kütle sönümleyiciye (AKS) göre daha etkili olduğunu göstermiştir.In this paper, series tuned mass dampers (STMDs) are considered for suppressing the vibration of railway bridges under high-speed trains. A railway bridge is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam and a train is simulated as a series of moving forces. Numerical results from simply supported bridge under Eurostar train show that the proposed STMD is more effective than a single TMD in reducing dynamic responses during resonant speeds

Solution of the problem is obtained by using both analytical and numerical methods. Effect of the use of TMDs on the dynamic behavior of bridges are examined.     Tuned mass dampers (TMDs) are used to reduce dynamic vibrations of structures under environmental loads such as wind or seismic excitation. In this paper, the optimum design of non traditional tuned mass dampers (NT-TMD) attached to a damped main structure under harmonic excitation was investigated. Unlike the traditional TMD, the damping element in NT-TMD is directly connected to the ground. In this study, the effectiveness of NT-TMD on the attenuation of vibrations on the damped main system under harmonic load is investigated. The optimum parameters of the NT-TMD are obtained by using the hybrid pattern search (HPS) technique. According to numerical results, it is seen that non-traditional TMD is more effective than traditional TMD in reducing vibration.Ayarlı kütle sönümleyiciler (AKS) rüzgâr ve sismik etkiler gibi çevresel yükler altındaki yapıların titreşimlerinin azaltılmasında kullanılmaktadır. Bu yazıda, harmonik etki altındaki sönümlü bir ana yapıya eklenen geleneksel olmayan ayarlanmış kütle sönümleyicilerin optimum tasarımı araştırılmıştır. Geleneksel AKS’den farklı olarak, sönüm elamanı direk olarak yere bağlanmaktadır. Geleneksel olmayan AKS’nin optimum parametreleri hibrit model arama tekniği kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Numerik sonuçlar titreşim azaltılmasında geleneksel olmayana AKS’nin geleneksel AKS’ye göre daha etkili olduğu görülmektedir

    Effect of vehicle-bridge interaction on the dynamic behavior of bridges

    Bu çalışmada, tek açıklıklı köprülerin hareketli asılı kütle etkisindeki dinamik davranışı incelenmiştir. Ele alınan probleme ait hareket denklemi değişken katsayılı kısmi türevli diferansiyel denklem şeklinde elde edilmiş ve Newmark yöntemi ile sayısal olarak çözülmüştür. Dinamik analizlerde hız parametresi, kütle oranı, frekans oranı ve köprünün sönüm oranının köprünün ve taşıtın dinamik davranışı üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Analizlerden elde edilen sonuçlar şekiller ve tablolar halinde sunulmuştur. Sonuçlar, dikkate alınan parametrelerin köprünün dinamik davranışı üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir.In this study, dynamic behavior of single span bridges under moving sprung massis investigated. The equation of motion of the problem under consideration is obtained as a partial differential equation with variable coefficients and solved numerically by Newmark method. In dynamic analyzes, the effects of the speed parameter, mass ratio, frequency ratio and damping ratio of the bridge on the dynamic behavior of the bridge and the vehicle areinvestigated. The results obtained from the analysis are presented in figures and tables. The results have shown that the parameters taken into account have a significant influence on the dynamic behavior of the bridge

    Optimum tuned tandem mass dampers for suppressing seismic-induced vibrations considering soil-structure interaction

    In recent studies, it has been stated that tuned tandem mass dampers (TTMD) will be a practical mechanical solution to reduce the dynamic responses of structures under seismic excitations. However, since TTMD is tuned based on the dominant frequency of the superstructure, ignoring the soil-structure interaction (SSI), it may cause a notable deterioration in the control performance of the control devices. Thus, a methodology for the optimum design of TTMD positioned on the top story of a high-rise building due to near-fault pulse-like ground motions considering potential SSI effects has been investigated in this paper. Firstly, the TTMD is located on the top story of a well-known 40-story shear building, and the equations of motion for soil-structure-TTMD interaction are derived. Based on the sequential quadratic programming (SQP), the tuning parameters of TTMD are then found for different support conditions in the frequency domain. The efficiency of SQP is also compared with two meta-heuristic algorithms (i.e., simulated annealing and pattern search algorithms). The effectiveness of optimum TTMD is tested using 30 near-fault pulse-like ground motions using time-domain analyses. Numerical results showed that the optimum TTMD is more effective in suppressing the maximum displacement and inter-story drift of the building, considering SSI. It is also found that the frequency content of the earthquake, as well as the pulse period of the earthquake and soil type, has a significant effect on the control performance of the TTMD

    An Investigation on the Microstructure and Wear Properties of TiB2 Reinforced AA2014 Aluminium Alloy Produced by Vacuum Infiltration

    Bican, Osman/0000-0003-2246-0780WOS: 000358327500012In this study, microstructural, mechanical and wear properties of TiB2 reinforced Al 2014-based composites produced by vacuum infiltration were investigated under different production temperatures. It was observed that the microstructures of the composites consisted of Al matrix and TiB2 particles. TiB2 particles exhibit various shapes such as cubic, triangle and spherical. It was observed that the hardness and porosity of the composites increased with increasing TiB2 content. It was also observed that the production temperature has an important effect on the porosity and hardness of the produced composites. The highest wear resistance was obtained from Al 2014-8% TiB2 composite among the materials tested. It was observed that the production temperature and hardness are effective parameters on wear of produced composites.
