Abstract Equation-based object-oriented modeling approach significantly reduced effort needed for model implementation by releasing modeler of performing many error-prone tasks. An increasingly more complex models can be built, preferably from components of different model libraries. However, complexity of the models complicate the process of verification -assuring that the model was implemented correctly and behaves as expected -and possible subsequent debugging. A cause of error in a model with over 1000 different equations can be often hard to find by the deskchecking method. This requires the development of new modeling environment tools for model understanding and automated discovery of the fault causes. The difficulty of designing such tools in EOO modeling environments is linked to the difficulty of mapping simulation form to the model sources. Furthermore, debugging of complex models consisting of over thousand equations by traversing each equation may be very ineffective, especially when the fault has multiple and not very evident causes. A model reduction methods is proposed and discussed as a method of verification. With model reduction methods it is possible to identify the most important parts of the model which have contributed to the specific model behavior. Because model reduction can be performed on original model representation, the difficulty of mapping simulation form back to model source is avoided

The aim of our research was to analyze the cooperation of furniture industry and designers in product development process. The results indicate the diffi culties of and impediments to such cooperation. SWOT analysis was used for analyzing the strengths and opportunities as well threats and weaknesses of cooperation of furniture industry with designers in product development process. The leading management of furniture companies and designers indentifi ed greater creativity (more innovative solutions), better design and more fresh ideas as the highest strength and opportunity of cooperation.U istraživanju je analizirana suradnja industrije namještaja i dizajnera u procesu razvoja proizvoda.

The fracture moment of corner joints bonded by different glues

The main goal of this research is to determine the most appropriate adhesive to fix angular joints with wooden ring for manufacturing window frames. The joint with wooden ring is the result of Slovenian experience and is protected by international patent. The destructive strength of angular joints adhered with different glues was tested by the tensile-testing machine. Polyvinyl acetate glue of the D3 group was found to be the most appropriate from the point of view of strength. The biggest advantage of using a joint with wooden ring lies in the possibility of manufacturing wooden frames from finished elements. In this way, the process of manufacturing a window ends after assembling its parts. It is, therefore, very important to choose the right glue that can completely fill the junction and cover the whole unprotected front part of the joint. For this purpose, polyurethane glues were used in the experiment, as they slightly expand during the hardening phase

Narcissism and the strategic pursuit of short-term mating : universal links across 11 world regions of the International Sexuality Description Project-2.

Previous studies have documented links between sub-clinical narcissism and the active pursuit of short-term mating strategies (e.g., unrestricted sociosexuality, marital infidelity, mate poaching). Nearly all of these investigations have relied solely on samples from Western cultures. In the current study, responses from a cross-cultural survey of 30,470 people across 53 nations spanning 11 world regions (North America, Central/South America, Northern Europe, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Oceania, Southeast Asia, and East Asia) were used to evaluate whether narcissism (as measured by the Narcissistic Personality Inventory; NPI) was universally associated with short-term mating. Results revealed narcissism scores (including two broad factors and seven traditional facets as measured by the NPI) were functionally equivalent across cultures, reliably associating with key sexual outcomes (e.g., more active pursuit of short-term mating, intimate partner violence, and sexual aggression) and sex-related personality traits (e.g., higher extraversion and openness to experience). Whereas some features of personality (e.g., subjective well-being) were universally associated with socially adaptive facets of Narcissism (e.g., self-sufficiency), most indicators of short-term mating (e.g., unrestricted sociosexuality and marital infidelity) were universally associated with the socially maladaptive facets of narcissism (e.g., exploitativeness). Discussion addresses limitations of these cross-culturally universal findings and presents suggestions for future research into revealing the precise psychological features of narcissism that facilitate the strategic pursuit of short-term mating
