The error is in the fifth sentence, which reads: ‘‘On the basis of these findings, we performed analyses of four-marker haplotypes of rs2710102–rs759178–rs17236239–rs2538976 and identified significant association (haplotype TTAA, P = 0.049; haplotype GCAG,P = .0014).’’ Rather than ‘‘GCAG’’, the final haplotype should read ‘‘CGAG’’. Obesity Moderates the Effects of Motivational Interviewing Treatment Outcomes in Fibromyalgia
Objective: Obesity is a common comorbid condition among patients with fibromyalgia (FM). Our objective was to assess if obesity moderates the treatment benefits of exercise-based motivational interviewing (MI) for FM.
Methods: This is a secondary data analysis of a completed clinical trial of 198 FM patients who were randomized to receive either MI or attention control (AC). Using body mass index (BMI) to divide participants into obese (BMI >=30 kg/m2) and non-obese (BMI <30 kg m2) groups, mixed linear models were used to determine interaction between treatment arms and obesity status with regards to the primary outcome of global FM symptom severity (Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire, FIQ). Secondary measures included pain intensity (Brief Pain Inventory, BPI), 6-minute walk test, and self-reported physical activity (Community Health Activities Model Program for Seniors).
Results: Of the 198 participants, 91 (46%) were non-obese and 107 (54%) were obese. On global FM symptom severity (FIQ), the interaction between treatment arms and obesity status was significant (P=0.02). In the non-obese group, MI was associated with a greater improvement in FIQ than AC. In the obese group, MI participants reported less improvement in FIQ compared to AC. The interaction analysis was also significant for BPI pain intensity (P=0.01), but not for the walk test and self-reported physical activity.
Discussion: This is the first study to show that obesity negatively affects the treatment efficacy of MI in patients with FM. Our findings suggest that exercise-based MI may be more effective if initiated after weight loss is achieved
Feedback for thought: examining the influence of feedback constituents on learning experience
© 2016 Society for Research into Higher Education. Reflective teaching practice is often heralded as a pillar of effective tuition. However, the perceptions of multiple forms of feedback among learners and their contributions to reflective learning is yet to attract significant attention, particularly in the Information Systems (IS) context. This research investigates the antecedent constituents of feedback and how they contribute to an overall perception of feedback in an introductory IS course. A research model grounded in the pedagogical literature was operationalised and quantitative data collected and analysed using Partial Least Squares. The results indicate that summative and generic assessment feedback were found to be significant towards formulating an overall perception of feedback, and that such perception is significant in influencing a learner's experience. This further highlights the fact that students are overwhelmingly assessment focused and may not engage in reflective practice pertaining to their overall learning experience–necessitating the establishment of learner's reflective lenses to guide them towards such reflection
BaFe2As2 Surface Domains and Domain Walls: Mirroring the Bulk Spin Structure
High-resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) measurements on
BaFe2As2-one of the parent compounds of the iron-based superconductors-reveals
a (1x1) As-terminated unit cell on the (001) surface. However, there are
significant differences of the surface unit cell compared to the bulk: only one
of the two As atoms in the unit cell is imaged and domain walls between
different (1x1) regions display a C2 symmetry at the surface. It should have
been C2v if the STM image reflected the geometric structure of the surface or
the orthorhombic bulk. The inequivalent As atoms and the bias dependence of the
domain walls indicate that the origin of the STM image is primarily electronic
not geometric. We argue that the surface electronic topography mirrors the bulk
spin structure of BaFe2As2, via strong orbital-spin coupling

Measurements of the LHC Corrector Magnets at Room and Cryogenic Temperatures
The superconducting twin aperture main dipole magnets of the LHC accelerator are equipped with pairs of sextupole and decapole correctors at their ends. Similarly, octupole correctors are aligned at t he end of the main quadrupole magnets. Dedicated stations have been built for tests of these correctors at room temperature as well as superfluid helium temperature. Measurements of the training behav iour and of the magnetic field quality are routinely performed. The search for the magnetic axis and the transfer of its position to fiducials are performed at room temperature. A description and the performances obtained with these two benches are also presented
Does Vibration Training Improve Physical Function and Quality of Life in Fibromyalgia Syndrome?
poster abstractExercise and physical activity recommendations are an integral component of the overall management of fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, despite the known health, fitness, and symptom relief benefits, underlying pain and fatigue prevent most from initiating (or maintaining) physical activity and exercise programs, thereby contributing to sedentary lifestyles that lead to low levels of aerobic and muscular fitness. Therefore, it is important to identify alternative approaches to exercise programming in the overall management of fibromyalgia. Vibration training is a relatively new approach to exercise that has been shown to elicit numerous benefits; however little is known about the effects of this training method in fibromyalgia. Therefore, the primary aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of vibration training in improving musculoskeletal function, balance and postural control, and health-related quality of life in patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia
Double di ffential fragmentation cross sections measurements of 95 MeV/u 12C on thin targets for hadrontherapy
During therapeutic treatment with heavy ions like carbon, the beam undergoes
nuclear fragmentation and secondary light charged particles, in particular
protons and alpha particles, are produced. To estimate the dose deposited into
the tumors and the surrounding healthy tissues, an accurate prediction on the
fluences of these secondary fragments is necessary. Nowadays, a very limited
set of double di ffential carbon fragmentation cross sections are being
measured in the energy range used in hadrontherapy (40 to 400 MeV/u).
Therefore, new measurements are performed to determine the double di ffential
cross section of carbon on di erent thin targets. This work describes the
experimental results of an experiment performed on May 2011 at GANIL. The
double di ffential cross sections and the angular distributions of secondary
fragments produced in the 12C fragmentation at 95 MeV/u on thin targets (C,
CH2, Al, Al2O3, Ti and PMMA) have been measured. The experimental setup will be
precisely described, the systematic error study will be explained and all the
