No abstract.NenhumaEste caso traz a história do jovem Empreendedor Narciso, que no ano eleitoral de 2018 abriu uma empresa no setor de comunicação digital. Sem nenhum preparo gerencial, Narciso vivencia muitas situações constrangedoras, incluindo relações difíceis com seus colaboradores. O caso relata a situação sob o ponto de vista de Lírio, amigo de Narciso que foi contratado para realizar algumas funções de comando na ausência do chefe. Mesmo Lírio tendo liberdade de comandar, ele se viu em muitas histórias complicadas de se resolver, já que envolviam outros funcionários insatisfeitos e os desmandos de Narciso. O dilema do caso envolve os comportamentos gerenciais de Narciso e suas implicações no fechamento da empresa

A new species of Leptophoxoides Barnard, 1962 (Amphipoda, Phoxocephalidae) from the Brazilian northeastern continental slope

A new species of Leptophoxoides Barnard, 1962 is described with material from the continental slope of Rio Grande do Norte state, northeastern Brazil at three different depths: 150, 400 and 2,500 meters. Leptophoxoides longisetae sp. nov. can be diagnosed and distinguished from the other two species of the genus, L. molaris Barnard, 1962 and L. marina Senna, 2010, by the following characters: antenna 1 peduncular article 1 ventral apex weakly ensiform; maxilla 1 inner plate longer than outer; maxilliped palp article 3 with blunt and extremely protuberant apex; gnathopods 1-2 carpus almost cryptic; gnathopod 2 palm defined by a large and sharply produced palmar hump; pereopod 6 basis posterodistal corner produced as a blunt lobe; and telson with two dorsal long plumose setae on each side. This is the first record of the genus for northeastern Brazilian waters, uncovering a higher biodiversity in deep waters

A new species of Gammarus Fabricius, 1775 (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Gammaridae) from extreme high-altitude Lake Tong Tso, Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

A new species of the genus Gammarus Fabricius, 1775 is described from Lake Tong Tso, an extreme high-altitude lake in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Gammarus pontual sp. nov. is considered part of the Gammarus lacustris G.O. Sars, 1863 group, which is characterized by having the inner ramus of uropod 3 longer than half the length of the outer ramus, and by having both rami covered with plumose setae. The new species stands apart from their congeners, mainly, by the following combination of characters: head with cephalic lateral lobe truncated; gnathopods 1-2 propodus weakly armed, with 1 stout seta defining palm; palm longer than posterior margin of propodus, with 1 main stout seta medially; pereopods 5-7 basis slender, posterior margin crenulate; epimeral plate 1 posterior margin produced into a short spine, facial ridge present; epimeral plates 2-3 posteroventral corner sharply pointed; uropod 3 rami covered with plumose setae, inner ramus about 80% the length of the outer ramus; telson apex with 2 stout setae on each side

First record and a new species of Foxiphalus Barnard, 1979 (Crustacea: Amphipoda: Phoxocephalidae) from the Atlantic Ocean, with two new records of the family from northeastern Brazil

A new species of Foxiphalus Barnard, 1979 is described. The material examined was collected as part of the project "Avaliação da biota bentônica e planctônica da Bacia Potiguar e Ceará" (BPOT), off northeastern Brazilian continental slope on the state of Rio Grande do Norte at depths ranging from 135 to 283 meters. Foxiphalus potiguara sp. nov. is recognized among its congeners by: rostrum slightly exceeding the article 2 of antenna 1; lower lip outer lobes with strong shoulder cusps; maxilliped inner plate with two apical robust setae; gnathopod 2 carpus shortened; pereopod 5 basis tapering distally; and epimeral plate 3 posterior margin weakly crenulated. This is the first record of Foxiphalus for the Atlantic Ocean and we provide an amended diagnosis of the genus and an identification key to its world species. In addition, two new records of Phoxocephalidae are reported from northeastern Brazil: Heterophoxus shoemakeri Andrade & Senna, 2020 and Metharpinia dentiurosoma Alonso de Pina, 2003

Effect of the systemic administration of methylprednisolone on the lungs of brain-dead donor rats undergoing pulmonary transplantation

OBJECTIVE: Most lung transplants are obtained from brain-dead donors. The physiopathology of brain death involves hemodynamics, the sympathetic nervous system, and inflammatory mechanisms. Administering methylprednisolone 60 min after inducing brain death in rats has been shown to modulate pulmonary inflammatory activity. Our objective was to evaluate the effects of methylprednisolone on transplanted rat lungs from donors treated 60 min after brain death. METHODS: Twelve Wistar rats were anesthetized, and brain death was induced. They were randomly divided into two groups (n = 6), namely a control group, which was administered saline solution, and a methylprednisolone group, which received the drug 60 min after the induction of brain death. All of the animals were observed and ventilated for 2 h prior to being submitted to lung transplantation. We evaluated the hemodynamic and blood gas parameters, histological score, lung tissue levels of thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances, level of superoxide dismutase, level of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and level of interleukin-1 beta. RESULTS: After transplantation, a significant reduction in the levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha and IL-1β was observed in the group that received methylprednisolone (p = 0.0084 and p = 0.0155, respectively). There were no significant differences in tumor necrosis factor-alpha and superoxide dismutase levels between the control and methylprednisolone groups (p = 0.2644 and p = 0.7461, respectively). There were no significant differences in the blood gas parameters, hemodynamics, and histological alterations between the groups. CONCLUSION: The administration of methylprednisolone after brain death in donor rats reduces inflammatory activity in transplanted lungs but has no influence on parameters related to oxidative stress

PREDICTABLE AND PRICE VOLATILITY RISK IN THE BRAZILIAN MARKET INTEGRATION OF SHRIMP

The present paper has the purpose of investigate the dynamics of the volatility structure in the shrimp prices in the Brazilian fish market. Therefore, a description of the initial aspects of the shrimp price series was made. From this information, statistics tests were made and selected univariate models to be price predictors. It´s presented as an exploratory research of applied nature with quantitative approach. The database was collected through direct contact with the Society of General Warehouses of São Paulo (CEAGESP).The results showed that the great variability in the active price is directly related with the gain and loss of the market agents. The price series presents a strong seasonal and biannual effect. The average structure of price of shrimp in the last 12 years was R$ 11.58 and external factors besides the production and marketing (U.S. antidumping, floods and pathologies) strongly affected the prices. Among the tested models for predicting prices of shrimp, four were selected, which through the prediction methodologies of "One Step Ahead" with 12 periods horizon , proved to be statistically more robust. We concluded that the dynamic pricing of commodity shrimp is strongly influenced by external productive factors and that these phenomena cause seasonal effects in the prices. Through statistical modeling is possible to minimize the risk and uncertainty embedded in the fish market, thus, the sales and marketing strategies for the Brazilian shrimp can be consolidated and widespread

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o discurso sobre vacinação contra o novo coronavírus. Fundamenta-se no quadro teórico da Análise do Discurso materialista e toma como corpus principal textualidades digitais contemporâneas que circulam no Twitter, observando para tal o modo de funcionamento das marcas linguísticas presentes nas textualidades selecionadas. Uma guerra (informacional) da vacina está sendo produzida: sentidos favoráveis e contrários circulam e fazem ecoar efeitos de sentidos que percorreram outros momentos históricos por meio de um trabalho da memória discursiva. Em virtude desse movimento de sentidos, constituímos um corpus secundário com charges publicadas em jornais do início do século XX e imagens postadas em outra rede social, o Facebook. Trabalhando no entremeio de diferentes textualidades, promovemos um gesto de interpretação que intenta a constituição do discurso anticiência, na inter-relação com o discurso conservador

Perfil epidemiológico dos pacientes bipolares das Clínicas Integradas da Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense

Artigo submetido ao Curso de Medicina da UNESC como requisito parcial para obtenção do Título de Bacharel em Medicina.Objetivo: Descrever o perfil epidemiológico dos pacientes com Transtorno Bipolar (TB) atendidos nas Clínicas Integradas da Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (UNESC), durante o período de 2017 a 2018. Métodos: Foi aplicado nos pacientes um questionário estruturado com dados sociodemográficos e sobre a condição médica geral do paciente, bem como as medicações utilizadas por eles. Além disso, foi aplicada a escala de Young para mania e a escala de Hamilton para depressão. Resultados: A idade média dos pacientes foi de 42,85 anos, com desvio padrão de ± 12,96. O sexo mais prevalente foi o feminino 82,4%, a etnia predominante foi a branca 85,3%. O TB do tipo I foi o mais frequente com 82,4% e a depressão foi o principal episódio de humor em que se encontravam os pacientes no momento da entrevista, com 61,8% da amostra. Quando avaliada internação, 41,2% foram internados em algum momento de suas vidas, sendo que a depressão foi principal motivo de internação, representando 50% dos casos. Dentre os pacientes, 64,7% já tentaram suicídio, além disso, 64,7% tinham familiar com algum transtorno psiquiátrico. Todos os pacientes avaliados já fizeram uso de algum tipo de medicação psiquiátrica, dentre os medicamentos, destacou-se: estabilizadores de humor, com 70,6% dos casos. Conclusão: O perfil epidemiológico obteve como destaque uma propensão maior ao sexo feminino, etnia branca, subtipo mais comum é o subtipo I e a depressão se manifestou mais comumente; além disso, a maioria dos pacientes tentaram suicídio em algum momento de suas vidas
