    Changes in the coagulating system of the blood were studied in six subjects during prolonged hypokinesia. Thrombogenic properties of the blood rose in all cases on the 8th day. These changes are explained by stress reaction due to unusual conditions for a healthy person. Changes in the blood coagulating system in the group subjected to physical exercise and without it ran a practically parallel course. Apparently physical exercise is insufficient to prevent such changes that appear in the coagulating system of the blood during prolonged hypokinesia

    Introduction. The article analyzes the contents of the monograph “Byzantine Empress Athenais-Eudocia. Life and Works in the Context of the Reign of Emperor Theodosius II (401–450)” by Tatyana Aleksandrova. It is devoted to the personality of Empress Eudocia (ca. 405–460) and her poetical heritage in the context of the period. Discussion. Over the recent decades academic interest in personalities has grown significantly. And it is not only within the framework of historical science. The genre of historical research has become very popular among many Russian and Western academic researchers. Because of such attention to personalities one of the urgent tasks of modern Byzantine studies is studying works of little-known or “secondary” Byzantine authors. These ones include the personality of royal poetess Aelia Eudocia Augusta (ca. 405–460). The scale of her activity and influence on the Byzantine culture is still poorly understood. Analysis. As a historical figure and poetess Eudocia attracted attention of researchers of Byzantine history and literature more than once. Historiography is mostly characterized by a certain duality of the approach to studying the personality and works of Eudocia. It often happens that researchers consider Eudocia the author and Eudocia the Empress as two different persons. Tatyana Alexandrova tries to combine both of these approaches and explore the poetic legacy of Eudocia in the historical and literary context of the 5th century. The author of the monograph reconstructs the biography of Eudocia, analyzes and verifies various research hypotheses of the predecessors (A. Cameron, B. Sowers, K. Holum, T. Graumann, C. Bevegni, E. Livrea, etc.). The author of the monograph comes to the conclusion that legends and myths around Eudocia’s name only remotely reflect the reality and their appearance was politically motivated. At the same time, the author studies all attributable poems and works by Eudocia and focuses attention on such ones as the Martyrdom of St. Cyprian and the Homeric centos. Results. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the monograph is an important step in understanding and representing the role of Eudocia in the Byzantine history and culture of the 5th century

    ρ4π\rho\to 4\pi DECAY

    Full text link
    The decay modes ρ02π+2π\rho^0 \to 2\pi^+ 2\pi^- and ρ02π0π+π\rho^0 \to 2\pi^0 \pi^+ \pi^- are considered in the framework of the low energy effective chiral Lagrangian. The obtained values of the decay widths Γ(ρ02π+2π)=\Gamma(\rho^0\to 2 \pi^+ 2 \pi^-)= (16±1)keV(16 \pm 1){\rm keV} and Γ(ρ02π0π+π)=(6.0±0.2)\Gamma(\rho^0\to 2 \pi^0 \pi^+ \pi^-)= (6.0 \pm 0.2)keV do not contradict the existing upper limits and seem to be big enough for the corresponding processes to be observed in future high luminosity experiments.Comment: 6 pages, LaTeX, without figure. Introduction. The paper examines the genre genealogy of church canonical questions and answers by Patriarch of Constantinople Nicholas III Grammatikos. Genre determination of Byzantine catechism literature is a very important aspect of studying of the entire textual corpus in format of a series of question and answers. Although the rhetorical format of catechism was widespread in Byzantium in the 11th–15th cc., unfortunately, this topic is poorly studied. In addition, the literature in this format does not constitute a homogeneous corpus of texts. That is why genre nature of questions and answers is subtle. Methods. Therefore, it necessitates a differentiated approach to every collection of catechism since the very solution of the problem is in the research of their content. Solution by means of method of text structural and compositional features’ analysis allows sheding light on genre nature of other catechism collections. Analysis and results. Canonical catechism by Nicholas Grammatikos has a complex manuscript tradition: there are seven editions of various Greek versions of the text available at the moment at our disposal. Considering this the total number of question-and-answer’ units reaches 27. Based on analysis of the text structure, its content particularities and stylistics, the author comes to conclusion of the epistolary genesis of the monument. This finding should be taken into consideration in the further study of the Byzantine catechism

    Measurement of omega meson parameters in pi^+pi^-pi^0 decay mode with CMD-2

    Full text link
    About 11 200 e^+e^- -> omega -> pi^+pi^-pi^0 events selected in the center of mass energy range from 760 to 810 MeV were used for the measurement of the \omega meson parameters. The following results have been obtained: sigma _{0}=(1457 \pm 23 \pm 19)nb, m_{\omega}=(782.71 \pm 0.07 \pm 0.04) MeV/c^{2}, \Gamma_{\omega}=(8.68 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.10) MeV, \Gamma_{e^+e^-}\cdot Br (\omega -> pi^+pi^-pi^0)= (0.528 \pm 0.012 \pm 0.007) \cdot 10^{-3} MeV.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure

    Existential Aspect of Virtuality: Identity and Diachrony

    Full text link
    A revival of left on the periphery existence concept of virtuality as fundamentally non-valid reality, which defines “valid”, is implemented, and it relationship to nostalgia, being, temporality, reality, sense creation and itself is also studied in this work. The result of the work is to identify the diachronic relationship between reality and virtuality — as well as to identify the specifics of this relationship.В данной работе осуществляется реактуализация оставленного на периферии современного дискурса вопроса об экзистенциальном значении виртуального как принципиально недействительного реального, в котором действительное определяется; исследуется его соотношение с ностальгией, бытием, временностью, действительностью и самим собой. Результатом работы оказывается выявление диахронической зависимости между реальностью и виртуальностью — а также выявление специфики этой зависимости

    Error matrices in gas-electron diffraction : II. Influence of weight matrix

    Full text link
    The properties of three different forms of error matrices in electron diffraction are investigated, assuming the presence of stationary, Gaussian, Markovian noise in the primary data. The error matrices studied are Mxp based on the optimum weight matrix P the bona fide error matrix Mxw based on the nonoptimum weight matrix W, and the false error matrix Mxo commonly calculated by diffractionists using the formula for the optimum error matrix while incorporating a nonoptimum weighting. Simple formulae relating the elements of the various matrices are derived in the case where W is the best diagonal weight matrix and where geometric constraints are not imposed on parameters. The influence of geometric constraints is tested. Calculations indicate that diagonal weight matrices in ordinary circumstances give results imperceptibly inferior to the results obtained with the best nondiagonal weight matrices. Elements of Mxw closely approach those of Mxp whereas elements of the false error matrix, taken alone, may be very misleading.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/33835/1/0000093.pd
