Kwafina: internationalization plan
This Work Project develops a possible suggestion of how and where Kwafina, an Angolan firm, should internationalize to the European food market. The proposed methodology is used for identifying potential foreign markets and to identify the entry mode that best fits the firm’s strategy. Screening, identification, and selection characterize the three stages in the evaluation of potential foreign markets and the identification of possible entry modes are based on the proposed theoretical framework

Design of MECSE Nanosatellite Mechanical Subsystem
Magnetohydrodynamics/Electrohydrodynamics CubeSat Experiment (MECSE) is the first Cube-
Sat being developed at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) and it is an under development
Nanosatellite resulting from the collaboration between C-MAST (Center for Mechanical and
Aerospace Science and Technologies) and CEiiA (Centre of Engineering and Product Development).
MECSE’s mission is to create a benchmark for the future validation of the theory that an
Electromagnetic field can re-shape the layer of plasma surrounding a spacecraft, and therefore
allow communications during the so-called atmospheric re-entry Radio Frequency (RF) blackout
phase.
When it comes to scientific space research there is a need to create a bridge between the scientific
goals and the engineering feasibility. In order for the mission to take shape, the development
of the product CubeSat shall meet scientific requirements as well as production limitations
and space regulations. This master dissertation aims to preliminarily develop MECSE’s Mechanical
Subsystem. In this work, a Mechanical Subsystem configuration that ensures the structural
reliability during launch, as well as on orbit was developed.
The approach adopted for the design of MECSE’s Mechanical System was to, first, define the
different project requirements, and then, COTS hardware components were selected based
on similar previous missions and their requirements were specified. The project also presents
Design Requirements that were specified based on the CubeSat Design Specifications, and the
launch platform P-POD. Finally, the materials for the primary structure of the CubeSat had to
be selected. A trade-off was performed comparing several material properties (e.g. thermal
conductivity, electrical conductivity, workability and others) and the aluminum alloy 7075 T6
was chosen.
The spacecraft must sustain a set of mechanical loads without permanent deformation, with a
certain margin of safety to prevent the uncertainties in the loading values during launch. A finite
element analysis validated the capacity of MECSE to sustain the linear static loads and static
temperature during launch and on-orbit.The components were evaluated and, with exception of
the Side Frames, the primary structural components should have their thickness reduced, since
they presented high margins of safety to stress and strain.
The thermal impact study showed that the subsystems will have their envelope of operations
conditioned by the angle between the orbit plane and the solar vector. In order to increase the
envelop of operations it was recommended the use of aerogel.Magnetohydrodynamics/Electrohydrodynamics CubeSat Experiment (MECSE) é o primeiro Cube-
promovendo assim a viabilidade técnica.
desenvolvimento preliminar do Subsistema Mecânico do MECSE, cuja configuração assegura a
Stratification and peer effects: an analysis of Lisbon public schools
Educational stratification has been a difficult subject to deal with having yet no study shown a quantitative measure of it. Using the idea of distribution comparison a measure based on parents’ education is built for the primary schools in Lisbon. Upon the
confirmation that Lisbon is stratified, I use the measure of peer effects based on
stratification and determine its impact on test scores, concluding that the existence of
stratification improves scores of students in schools with more educated parents and
decreases scores of students in schools with less educated parents. Moreover, using fixed
effects I derive the conclusion that the measure of peers’ characteristics helps explain most of differences among schools.NSBE - UN
Equity crowdfunding : an empirical analysis of funding momentum
The present thesis investigates whether investors’ decisions have an influence
on subsequent investors, ascertaining this as funding momentum. It presents an
analysis of the behaviour of investors in an Equity Crowdfunding setting, using
a sample of all the investments made on 134 campaigns posted on the platform
Invesdor, from 2012 to 2017. The results seem to indicate that, in an environment
where the level of information asymmetries is substantial, investors look at the
actions of others in their own decision-making. In fact, this thesis presents
evidence that throughout the duration of a campaign not only it is possible for
the funding dynamic to gain momentum, but also the momentum gained until a
given day in a campaign positively influences subsequent investments. In
addition, this thesis presents an empirical analysis of funding dynamics in Equity
Crowdfunding taking into account the share dilution that occurs after a
campaign enters in overfunding as a determinant of decisions. The results seem
to indicate that, although the investments are of relatively small order, investors
take into account the share dilution of a campaign in their decision making. The
evidence suggests a negative effect provoked on the funding momentum, which
is even higher when only considering successful campaigns. One discusses how
the results obtained contribute to literature and presents suggestions for future
research
Umbilical cord clamping: a practice guide

Recent research on home telemonitoring demonstrated benefits concerning the capacity, patient empowerment, and treatment commitment of health care systems. Moreover, for some diseases, it revealed significant improvement in clinical outcomes. Nevertheless, when policy makers and practitioners decide whether to scale-up a technology-based health intervention from a research study to mainstream care delivery, it is essential to assess other relevant domains, such as its feasibility to be expanded under real-world conditions. Therefore, scalability assessment is critical, and it encompasses multiple domains to ensure population-wide access to the benefits of the growing technological potential for home telemonitoring services in health care. Objective: This systematic review aims to identify the domains and methods used in peer-reviewed research studies that assess the scalability of home telemonitoring-based interventions under real-world conditions. Methods: The authors followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines and used multiple databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and EconLit). An integrative synthesis of the eligible studies was conducted to better explore each intervention and summarize relevant information concerning the target audience, intervention duration and setting, and type of technology. Each study design was classified based on the strength of its evidence. Lastly, the authors conducted narrative and thematic analyses to identify the domains, and qualitative and quantitative methods used to support scalability assessment. Results: This review evaluated 13 articles focusing on the potential of scaling up a home telemonitoring intervention. Most of the studies considered the following domains relevant for scalability assessment: problem (13), intervention (12), effectiveness (13), and costs and benefits (10). Although cost-effectiveness was the most common evaluation method, the authors identified seven additional cost analysis methods to evaluate the costs. Other domains were less considered, such as the sociopolitical context (2), workforce (4), and technological infrastructure (3). Researchers used different methodological approaches to assess the effectiveness, costs and benefits, fidelity, and acceptability. Conclusions: This systematic review suggests that when assessing scalability, researchers select the domains specifically related to the intervention while ignoring others related to the contextual, technological, and environmental factors, which are also relevant. Additionally, studies report using different methods to evaluate the same domain, which makes comparison difficult. Future work should address research on the minimum required domains to assess the scalability of remote telemonitoring services and suggest methods that allow comparison among studies to provide better support to decision makers during large-scale implementation.publishersversionpublishe
