Adherence to imatinib mesylate improves clinical outcomes and promotes a reduction in health expenditure. However, treatment duration and lack of efficacy decrease adherence to pharmacotherapy, resulting in increased mortality associated with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. This study aimed to evaluate and compare adherence and/or discontinuation of imatinib mesylate in different studies from the literature. An integrative review of original articles published between the years of 2004 and 2014 was performed using the databases PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus and SciELO. The descriptor "imatinib" was used in two combinations employing the connector AND between terms: "medication adherence'' AND ''imatinib" AND "leukemia'' and ''patient compliance'' AND "imatinib" AND "leukemia". We identified 476 studies, being 14 included in the study. The rates of adherence and discontinuation were diverse, ranging from 19.0 to 97.0% and from 1.8 and 41.0%, respectively, and a high number of longitudinal studies was observed (71.4%). Most studies used questionnaires as an indirect method to assess adherence and factors related to poor adherence were adverse drug reactions, dose changes and unavailability of the medication. Patient education associated with follow up by pharmacists and other health professionals can improve patient adherence and minimize the pharmacotherapy discontinuation

This article aims to describe and analyze the multidimensional economic, political and strategic factors, which served as driving forces for events related to the internationalization of South Korea in Latin America. Besides the economic and political bias, this study is based on four dimensions that comprise the main factors within strategies of internationalization of global enterprises: First, the Triple Helix model on innovation systems existing in an economy; then the Uppsala’s model and the contingency model, relating to internationalization within a perspective of successive stages of learning; and finally the interactive model, which deals with the existing interactions within a network in which lead the company to internationalize and innovate in the international market. Thus, this study proposes not only to explain, but seek in the economic background the reasons for the existence of these processes within the relationship between Asia and Latin America. The observation of these aspects leads us to realize that an extension of these trade relations can bring benefits to both regarding to the mobility of the factors of production, technological innovation and active participation in the international scenario. Using a recent example of expansion of the Hyundai group through the internationalization of companies of the group (Kia Motors) in Mexican territory, this study attempts to illustrate one of several episodes of internationalization promoted by globalization. These facts allow us to elucidate the extent in which these events help to streamline or even remodel the existing markets forces inside and outside of these spaces.

Despite Being Distinguished as the 2020 European Green Capital, Lisbon Has Lost Public Green Areas over the Previous Decade

With the objective of assessing Lisbon’s environmental improvement and sustainable de- velopment, we measured the changes in Lisbon’s vegetation cover over the 2010–2020 timeframe considering three categories: public green areas (PGA), street trees (ST), and urban green infrastruc- ture (UGI). We calculated the vegetation cover (m2), vegetation cover per resident (m2 person−1), and % of vegetation cover. PGA and ST covers were made available by the municipality, while UGI cover was estimated from the NDVI calculated from multispectral satellite images (Landsat 7–8). Since only the PGA cover decreased 2% (the ST and UGI covers increased 38% and 5%, respectively), Lisbon has lost PGA over the previous decade. The values of PGA per resident were below the minimum value of 12 m2 person−1 at the city scale and in most parishes (19 parishes out of 24 in 2020). While the values of % of UGI were above the desired value of 30% at the city scale, in 2020 there were three parishes with values below the minimum of 5%. This information is important to prioritize measures that promote sustainable urbanization in those parishes. Our study raised many questions, suggesting the need to standardize the methods for measuring the urban vegetation.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Use of chirps satellite precipitation in the characterization of the franceses stream basin, Manaus - State of Amazonas - Brazil

The city of Manaus has numerous waterways in its urban perimeter, and, despite this, there is a shortage of measures aimed at protecting water resources that has generated occupations very close to the riverbeds. This work aims to characterize a watershed in an urban area of Manaus and map the areas subject to flooding around the Franceses Stream. The methodology applied involved obtaining topographic and thematic information such as morphology, geographical location, elevations, extent, area, level curves (water dividers) of the basin, obtained through georeferenced satellite images in a GIS environment. In addition, monthly satellite precipitation via the CHIRPS product was used for the calculations. The physical characteristics of the basin were determined using equations employed in hydrology. The results indicated that the Franceses Stream basin is not subject to major flooding, presenting the following characteristics: compactness coefficient Kc = 5.71; form factor Kf = 0.36; circularity index Ic = 0.03; drainage density Dd = 0.94km-1. It was also found that, despite the intense occupation, there is preserved vegetation within the basin. It was concluded that the precipitation estimated by CHIRPS is efficient because it has a larger coverage, and that knowing the characteristics of watersheds in urban environments is of great importance to subsidize intervention measures and planning policies that ensure the protection of water resources and minimize inconvenience to the population. It was also found that the use of GIS is an important tool for analyzing information in hydrological studies, and that it needs to become an increasingly applied tool in urban management, so that the knowledge obtained can be used to obtain better environmental and social conditions

Hybrid governance system value perception model

This paper aims to analyze the negative perception about the ability to generate value from a Governance System (GS). A model that would explain the reason for the less positive perception regarding the ability to generate value from the GS of the organizations, from the analysis of the relationship between the constructs Hybridism, GS, Accountability and Perception of Value based on IR, was proposed and validated with structural equation modeling (SEM), based on 658 responses from professionals of Brazilian organizations from the public, private and non-profit sectors. It is suggested that conflicts related to organizational hybridism negatively influence the results orientation of the GS, which in turn influences the imbalance of its Accountability. As a result of the GS's loss of results orientation, and considering the IR capitals in the disclosure of results, there is a negative perception of the GS's ability to add value to the results. This work has been supported by FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia within the R&D Units Project Scope: UIDB/00319/2020.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Manejo e controle do huanglongbing (HLB) dos cítricos

    Get PDF
