O presente texto tem como propósito destacar a diferença existente entre baixa visão e cegueira, para o que traz como objetivos: descrever a técnica da musicografia braille e ressaltar a importância da mesma, no desenvolvimento humano e sociocultural de pessoas com deficiência visual. A pesquisa proposta constitui-se como resultado de discussões e reflexões feitas sobre possiblidades de inclusão por meio da musicografia braille. Dessa forma, realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa pelo procedimento bibliográfico, tendo como aportes teóricos principais Minayo (1995) e Michel (2009)

The University’s Roles in the Historical, Social and Cultural Context, and its Importance in the Realization of Human Rights and Brazilian Democracy

This research exposes narratives and arguments of conceptual and historical content about the conditions and purposes of the University, particularly in Brazil, seeking to describe and reflect on central aspects of this institution. It is recognized, in advance, the importance of constitutional autonomy and secularism within these institutions. This recognition is understood as fundamental in the process of actualizing human rights in public spaces for the construction of citizenship. The problem of this text is related to the question about how much the libertarian role of the University is supported in reality in the processes of construction of republican democracy. The hypothesis is that at some point the University stopped resisting prejudices, the banality of lies and the habit of bad manners in internal relations between workers and in the institution’s relationship with the community. The University, in our time, has been pressured not to bend to obscurantism, surrendering to market demands and renouncing the exercise of a critical judgment. Thus understood, the University loses consciousness of itself as an autonomous space for freedom of thought and for the development of sciences, arts and morals. Notably, when one observes the return or perpetuity of characteristic traits of neofascist movements and policies, which insist on intending the young Brazilian democracy, the urgency and challenge of rebuilding the University as a privileged locus for basic research, for the construction of advanced knowledge and for the technical application of knowledge before concrete demands is expanded. The task of students is arduous in times of authoritarianism of every order concealed by the progress idea. To carry out this research, the inductive method was used, with dialectical and historical methodological contributions, focusing on the technique of bibliographic research

Cultural and social interactions: cinema in focus

This paper presents the results of a bibliographical research that had as corpus the films "Up to the limit of honor" (1997), "Race and redemption" (2019) and "The House of Spirits" (1993), an activity proposed in the discipline Cultural Representations: Literature and Cinema, of the master’s degree in Sociocultural Practices and Social Development of the University of Cruz Alta – Unicruz. O ATUAL CENÁRIO PENITENCIÁRIO BRASILEIRO: DESCASO E ABANDONO DA FUNÇÃO REABILITADORA

A política criminal brasileira apresenta à população a imagem de que o sistema penitenciário está de acordo com as diretrizes humanitárias e respeita princípios como o da dignidade da pessoa humana. A ideia de recuperação foi, assim, inserida ao ideal de punição e fez com que a finalidade da pena privativa de liberdade possuísse um duplo caráter (retributivo e reformador). Esse conceito criou raízes no imaginário da sociedade contemporânea, entretanto o aumento constante e significativo da população carcerária e a realidade dos estabelecimentos demonstra o oposto. Desse modo, por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa bibliográfica e documental, usando-se de literatura e de dados estatísticos, pretende-se demonstrar algumas questões da realidade carcerária brasileira e como a reabilitação não ocorre no sistema penitenciário brasileiro, uma vez que o seu conceito não mais se aplica na formação social atual

Discurso e sociedade: a democratização do acesso ao direito/justiça pela simplificação da linguagem jurídica (Discourse and society: the democratization of access to the law/justice by the simplification of the legal language)

Dans une perspective interdisciplinaire, considérant l’approche faisant intervenir la science du langage et du droit, cet article discute des résultats d’une étude sur la simplification du langage juridique en tant que moyen de démocratiser l’accès à la justice, à Cruz Alta - RS. Cette étude est justifiée par le fait que la compréhension par la société des expressions juridiques pose de grandes difficultés, ce qui entrave l’accès à la justice. Les données montrent un progrès dans l'acceptation et l'exercice de la simplification du langage juridique, jusque-là pratiquement inacceptable pour les opérateurs du droit.MOTS-CLÉS: discours. Educomunicação e suas áreas de intervenção: Novos paradigmas para o diálogo intercultural

A ação cultural nas bibliotecas e sua dimensão para a sociedade do século XXI

Este texto objetiva discutir a ação cultural em uma perspectiva emancipatória, convergindo as discussões para os estudos culturais, sociedade da informação, era da cibercultura e do ciberespaço, interligando o ambiente físico e digital. Também tem como objetivo verificar se os cursos de Biblioteconomia do Rio Grande do Sul estão preparando os futuros bibliotecários para atuarem como agentes culturais. A metodologia utilizada nesta pesquisa é de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo exploratório, de caráter bibliográfico e análise documental das matrizes curriculares dos cursos de Biblioteconomia do RS. Foi constatado que as cinco instituições estão ofertando a disciplina de ação cultural, mesmo que com denominações diferentes. Assim, chegou-se à conclusão de que há uma visão por parte dos cursos pesquisados a respeito da necessidade da disciplina para a formação do futuro bibliotecário, e as ações culturais podem ser realizadas e publicizadas, utilizando-se das tecnologias da informação e comunicação
