Son tomados en consideración los diferentes aspectos de la tipología de culto mariano de Pompeya, las varias expresiones de fe y la característica dominante de la devoción respecto a la Virgen del Rosario, definida por sus aspectos devocionales justamente “sacro popular”.[Resumo] O traballo enfronta diferentes aspectos do nacemento e a evolución do turismo relixioso en Pompeya. Isolation and properties of a native subunit of lamprey thyroglobulin.

Abstract The thyroglobulin-like iodoproteins from lamprey thyroid tissue were prepared by repeated salting out between 1.4 and 1.8 m ammonium sulfate. Velocity ultracentrifugation showed only two boundaries, the sedimentation coefficients of which were about 5 S and 12 S. Sucrose gradient centrifugation of the same preparation, pulse-labeled with both 125I and 131I (7 days and 1 hour, respectively before killing), indicated the presence of a third component (17 S) which had a very rapid turnover and corresponds to native thyroglobulin of higher vertebrates. The 12 S component was obtained in ultracentrifugally homogeneous form with a sedimentation constant (s020,w) and molecular weight of 11.7 and 331,000, respectively. The iodine content was 0.003%. Lamprey 12 S thyroid protein, the first subunit of thyroglobulin which has been isolated in a pure form, is a native, stable protein with a molecular size corresponding to one-half that of the parent molecule, thyroglobulin

THE RESTORATION OF TRADITIONAL GASTRONOMY AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ENYIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL TOURISM IN THE SUSTAINABLE DEYELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS IN CILENTO (ITALY)

Cilento is a geographical territory at the Southern extremity of the Salerno Gulf and delimited in the north by the Sele River, in the east by Vallo di Diano, in the south by the Policastro Gulf and in the west by the Tirreno Sea. Cilento is well known for its coastline from Agropoli to the mouth of the Bussento River and the best known resorts are “Marina di Camerota, Capo Palinuro, Marina di Ascea, S. Maria di Castellabate”. Since 1991, almost all the area has been protected by the institution of a national park. The National Park of Cilento e Vallo di Diano (181.048 hectares) is the second largest protected area in Italy. The size of the Park determines the simultaneous presence of different areas of great natural and environmental value and beautiful landscapes. There is also historical and cultural heritage of great worth. Lymphoscintigraphy defines new lymphatic pathways from cutaneous melanoma site: clinical implications and surgical management.

Sentinel lymph node biopsy is commonly applied as staging procedure of regional lymph nodes in patients with cutaneous melanoma. Dynamic lymphoscintigraphy defines the lymphatic pathways from a primary melanoma site and allows to identify the node receiving lymphatic drainage from the primary tumor, which is the sentinel lymph node. In rare cases, lymphoscintigraphy shows sites of lymphatic drainage in nonclassical basins never described in the past when lymphatic drainage was considered only according to the anatomical proximity of the tumor primary site. These peculiar sentinel nodes, so-called "uncommon/interval" nodes, must be surgically removed because they may contain micrometastatic disease and may be the only site of nodal involvement

Receptor binding peptides for target-selective delivery of nanoparticles encapsulated drugs.

Active targeting by means of drug encapsulated nanoparticles decorated with targeting bioactive moieties represents the next frontier in drug delivery; it reduces drug side effects and increases the therapeutic index. Peptides, based on their chemical and biological properties, could have a prevalent role to direct drug encapsulated nanoparticles, such as liposomes, micelles, or hard nanoparticles, toward the tumor tissues. A considerable number of molecular targets for peptides are either exclusively expressed or overexpressed on both cancer vasculature and cancer cells. They can be classified into three wide categories: integrins; growth factor receptors (GFRs); and G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). Therapeutic agents based on nanovectors decorated with peptides targeting membrane receptors belonging to the GPCR family overexpressed by cancer cells are reviewed in this article. The most studied targeting membrane receptors are considered: somatostatin receptors; cholecystokinin receptors; receptors associated with the Bombesin like peptides family; luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone receptors; and neurotensin receptors. Nanovectors of different sizes and shapes (micelles, liposomes, or hard nanoparticles) loaded with doxorubicin or other cytotoxic drugs and externally functionalized with natural or synthetic peptides are able to target the overexpressed receptors and are described based on their formulation and in vitro and in vivo behaviors
