Helobata amazonensis Clarkson, Santos & Ferreira‑Jr., 2016, is recorded for the first time for Roraima State and its female is recorded for the first time. Helobata quatipuru Fernández & Bachmann, 1987 and H. larvalis (Horn, 1873) are recorded for the first time for Minas Gerais, Cerrado Biome area. Investigating norms in the brazilian official translation of semiotic items, culture-bound items, and translator's paratextual interventions

Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras/Inglês e Literatura Correspondente.A descriptive approach is used in this study to investigate the norms that are responsible for the constraints limiting the translator's choices when dealing with three specific aspects of official translation in Brazil: the translation of semiotic items; the translation of culture-bound items, and the insertion of paratextual interventions. An analysis was conducted of translations of the following documents: academic transcripts, birth or marriage certificates, driver's licenses, police record certificates and diplomas. By using these textual sources, and also extratextual sources, this study sought to answer the following questions: What are the strategies most frequently employed by the 42 official translators participating in this study when translating coats of arms, stamps and signatures? How are school names, units of measurement and some specific phraseologisms commonly found in official documents translated? What kinds of translator's comments and notes do official translators usually add to their translated texts? The strategies used were analyzed, and possible reasons for the translator's behavior were suggested. In addition, categorizations were proposed for the strategies employed in the translation of semiotic items and for the types of translator's interventions appearing in official translations done in Brazil with the Portuguese-English language pair. Este estudo utiliza uma abordagem descritiva para investigar as normas que impõem restrições às opções do tradutor ao lidar com três aspectos específicos da tradução juramentada no Brasil: a tradução de itens semióticos; a tradução de marcadores culturais e a inclusão de intervenções paratextuais. Traduções dos seguintes documentos foram analisadas: históricos escolares, certidões de nascimento ou casamento, carteiras de habilitação, atestados de antecedentes e diplomas. Utilizando essas fontes textuais bem como fontes extra-textuais, este estudo objetivou responder às seguintes perguntas: Quais as estratégias mais freqüentemente utilizadas pelos 42 Tradutores Juramentados que participaram deste estudo ao traduzir brasões, carimbos e assinaturas? Como são traduzidos os nomes de escolas, as unidades de medidas e alguns fraseologismos específicos normalmente encontrados nos documentos oficiais traduzidos? Que tipos de comentários e notas os tradutores juramentados normalmente inserem em suas traduções? As estratégias utilizadas foram analisadas e foram sugeridas as possíveis razões para o comportamento tradutório. Além disso, foram propostas categorizações para as estratégias utilizadas na tradução de itens semióticos e para os tipos de intervenções do tradutor encontradas nas traduções juramentadas feitas no Brasil com o par lingüístico português-inglês

Immunohistochemical Expression of Matrix Metalloprotease-2 and Matrix Metalloprotease-9 in the Disks of Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction

Purpose Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) are tissue-remodeling enzymes that function during the remodeling process, such as in immune-inflammatory diseases. Metalloprotease-2 (MMP-2) and metalloprotease-9 (MMP-9) are gelatinases that degrade several types of extracellular matrix collagen. It is hypothesized that in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression levels may be elevated. Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the association of MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression with temporomandibular joint dysfunction using an immunohistochemical approach to evaluate the joint disk. Material and Methods A total of 45 human temporomandibular joint samples were collected, with 36 samples in the test group (patients with anterior disk displacement with reduction (n = 29) and without reduction (n = 7)) and nine samples in the control group. The immunostaining of the TMJ disks was statistically compared between the groups (P \u3c 0.05). Results There was a statistically significant difference for the area of MMP-2 immunostaining between the control group and the displacement disks with reduction group (ADDwR) (P = 0.048) and between the groups with disk displacement and without reduction (ADDwoR) (P = 0.029). The expression of MMP-2 was significantly elevated in the ADDwoR group. Conclusion No statistically significant difference was found between the variable area of MMP-9 expression in the disk with and without disk displacement, as determined by immunohistochemical analysis. However, there was an elevation of MMP-2 expression in the disks of patients with displacement and without reduction (more severe alteration)

Celiac Crisis In Adults: A Case Report And Review Of The Literature Focusing In The Prevention Of Refeeding Syndrome

Celiac crisis is a life-threatening complication of celiac disease that is rarely described in adults. Case report: We report the case of a 31-year-old man with celiac crisis as a first manifestation of celiac disease. The patient presented with severe diarrhea, metabolic acidosis, and electrolyte disturbances accompanied by electrocardiographic alterations. A satisfactory clinical response was obtained after the correction of electrolyte abnormalities, hydration, and nutritional support with a gluten-free diet according to recommendations for patients at high risk of refeeding syndrome. Discussion: Celiac crisis generally occurs in patients with no previous diagnosis of celiac disease. The physician should therefore be aware of this diagnosis and consider celiac crisis in cases of unexplained intense secretory diarrhea, metabolic acidosis and severe electrolyte alterations in adults. The risk of refeeding syndrome should be assessed when a gluten-free diet is introduced and treatment of celiac crisis should include prevention and management of this possible complication.1091676

Notícias do Rio de Janeiro: aritmética, geometria e desenho no ensino primário (1890- 1970).

De forma geral, estas colunas divulgavam o que estava acontecendo na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, que correspondia ao Município Neutro (de 1834 a 1891), ao Distrito Federal (de 1891 a 1960) e ao Estado da Guanabara (de 1960 a 1974). Nossos comentários, que serão tratados numa perspectiva cronológica, têm por objetivo apresentar resultados sobre os primeiros estudos acerca das ideias que foram veiculadas em legislações e programas elaborados entre 1890 a 1970, e prioritariamente voltavam-se à educação primária na cidade do Rio de Janeiro e diziam respeito aos ensinos de aritmética, desenho e geometria. Este estudo agrega-se aos esforços que vêm sendo desenvolvidos por vários estados brasileiros no desenvolvimento da pesquisa “A Constituição dos Saberes Elementares Matemáticos: a Aritmética, a Geometria e o Desenho no curso primário em perspectiva histórico-comparativa, 1890-1970”, coordenada pelo Grupo de Pesquisa de História da Educação Matemática no Brasil (GHEMAT), e que conta com a aprovação do CNPq
