The mediating effect of e-satisfaction and the moderating effect of convenience towards e-loyalty among Internet banking users in northern region of Malaysia
Research on online customer loyalty among internet banking users is important because of the threat posed by phishing and other related issues. The literature has shown that it is a major concern, especially in Malaysia. This study examines the factors influencing eLoyalty such as eSatisfaction, eCommitment, eTrust, privacy, security, website quality and convenience among the internet banking users in
Malaysia. The objectives of the study are to analyse the direct effect of eSatisfaction,
eCommitment, eTrust towards eLoyalty and the mediating effect of eSatisfaction between privacy, security and website quality on eLoyalty. Another objective is to observe the moderating role of convenience between eSatisfaction and eLoyalty. The underpinning theory used to develop the study’s framework is based on Oliver’s Four-Stage Loyalty Model. An intercept data collection approach was chosen due to the nature of online users as well as the industry. A total of 427 datasets was employed for final analysis, performed using SPSS and SmartPLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling). The results of the analysis show that all hypotheses are supported and only one is rejected. The study has established the
direct relationship between eSatisfaction, eCommitment and eTrust towards eLoyalty. In addition, the study has confirmed the mediating effect of eSatisfaction between privacy and eLoyalty, security and eLoyalty and website quality on eLoyalty. However, the moderating role of convenience was found to be not
significant indicating that there is a constant effect between eSatisfaction and eLoyalty. The study also discusses the theoretical and practical contributions as well as the limitations of the study and recommendations for future research
Eleven shades of food integrity: a halal supply chain perspective
Background: Food integrity is not only related to the good quality of the food product, nonetheless, it distresses closely more on the health, safety, religious and cultural matters. Weaknesses in handling, monitoring, processing and other factors along the food’s supply chain outbreaks the recent food integrity scandal. These outbreak food integrity scandals could be prevented if clear aspects that affect the food integrity were embraced along the food supply chain. This article is aiming to highlight the factors affecting food integrity in the context of the halal food supply chain and their potential for future research. Scope and approach: This review attempts to provide a wider view of supply chain management in the halal food industry. Attention is drawn to the literature on other food industries and the results there are put in the context of the halal food setting. In this review, it emphasizes the factors could be monitor or control that contributes to the problem of food integrity. Key findings and conclusions: Eleven ‘shades’ of food integrity in the halal supply chain are offered, which can be categorized into four supply chain dimensions, related to raw materials, production, service, and the consumer. Each shade is defined and aligned with the results in the literature, and areas for future research are suggested. Theoretical and managerial implications are provided. The ‘shades’ highlighted can be used and considered by managers as fundamental insights to ponder in safeguarding the integrity of halal products
Ministry Of Higher Education (MOHE): Quality assurance on education / Norhidayah Ali...[et al.]
Quality Assurance is considered as a new area of concern among education practitioners in Malaysia. In the past, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) place little stress on the importance of having quality assurance among its higher education institutions. The last few years since quality assurance has become a top-notch issue in the world arena of education, MOHE started to paddle up speedily towards achieving the standard of quality recognizable globally. An accreditation such as MQA (Malaysia Qualifications Agency), formerly knows as LAN (Lembaga Akreditasi Negara) or National Accreditation Board was introduced. It is expected that the MQA accreditation will guide the Malaysian higher education system in improving the quality of education rendered to the public. Therefore, this informative paper will look at the quality assurance education: perspectives, current practice among education institutions, MOHE’s roles and public expectation of quality education
The moderating effect of convenience towards the relationship between satisfaction and loyalty in Malaysian banking industry
The aim of this research was to explore the influence of e-satisfaction towards e-loyalty among the internet banking users in Malaysia. The moderating effect of convenience on the relationship between e-satisfaction and e-loyalty was also analysed. The study employed systematic sampling technique to recruit respondents. Intercept survey was chosen as method of data
collection in which a 25-item questionnaire was used to measure respondents’ e-satisfaction (5 items), e-loyalty (13 items) and convenience (7 items). The survey yielded 120 usable responses. Data were analysed using variance-based partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modelling advanced statistical technique with the help of Smart-PLS version 3. PLS, which has become popular in marketing and social science research, was used to determine the factor loadings and path coefficients in the theoretical model. The study has concluded that e-satisfaction has an effect on e-loyalty; however the moderation effect of convenience was not significant
The factors influencing students' performance at Universiti Teknologi MARA Kedah, Malaysia
Many studies are carried out to explore factors affecting students’ performance (academic achievement). The purpose of this research is to identify and examine factors that affect students’ performance at UiTM Kedah. A set of questionnaires was distributed to the respective respondents. Several factors that being discussed in this research are demographic, active learning, students’ attendance, involvement in extracurricular activities, peer influence and course assessment. The data is analyzed using descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability testing and Pearson correlation of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). After conducting factor analysis, all variables are grouped into five factors which exclude peer influence. The researchers found that four factors are positively related to students’ performance that are demographic, active learning, students’ attendance and involvement in extracurricular activities. However, course assessment was found to be negatively related to students’ performance. Further research on students’ performance can be conducted on a larger scale including all UiTM to obtain better result
What makes a woman an entrepreneur? / Zuraidah Mohamed Isa...[et al.]
Statistics show that there are significantly increasing number of women started their own business over the
years. The work flexibility offered by entrepreneurship encourages women to enter the business world. The
flexibility or working hours as well as working at home are among reasons why women are interested in joining
and owning a business. Other factors such as motivation, personality characteristics, and encouragement from
the government, economic condition, political condition and family support motivate them to develop their own
business. Although there are many barriers especially when starting a new business, majority of them still survive as per their self-reliant, initiative and never ending give-up. This paper attempts to discuss the factors that contribute to the involvement of women in entrepreneurship
The effect of information seeking behavior on online database usage among the undergraduate students
Every year the library of IIUM subscribes a quite number of online databases with huge expenses but the utilization of these databases is countable. 10 out of 53 subscriptions have been terminated by 2015 to save the cost go in vain. The purpose of this paper is to develop a model based on the ISB elements to identify the reason behind this less usage and to increase the usage of online databases in future. It has undertaken a quantitative approach to identify the elements of ISB among undergraduate (UG) students. The primary data has been collected through questionnaires based on the variables identified in the objective. There are 118 samples participated in this research and the proposed model has been adapted from Savolainen and Thomas D. Wilson. Psychological perception, searching strategies and the information resources have been considered as the independent variable and measured the usage of the online database among UG students as the dependent variable. The results have shown that there are seven elements which have an influence on the usage of the online database among IIUM UG students. Despite the limited number of samples and a specific group of students, the proposed model can enhance the usage of online database system subscribed by IIUM library as well a search engine can be developed to get the usage increased. In that sense, it is recommended to involve more participants from the different level of students and users to get diverse elements of ISB. However, the paper contributes to bridge the gap between the online database usage and the users which is to believe an effective outcome for online database subscription. It is hoped that the proposed model would significantly fill this gap and help the library to increase more users for their expensive databases

SmartPLS is commonly used in marketing and social science studies; thus, the software was employed in this study to predict the relationship among all tested variables as well as analyze their reliability and validity. The results of all the relationships were predicted through hypotheses testing. The result revealed that both commitment and trust have a positive and significant influence on online loyalty. This study provides some practical implications that may be relevant, not only to the banking industry, but also to the financial industry
Extension of dynamic source routing protocol in mobile ad hoc network
In a large dynamic network, data can be copied anywhere to make it fault tolerant and easy accessed but there must be an efficient protocol to manage the replicas and make sure the data is consistent and high in availability with a low
communication cost. In this paper, we introduced a new protocol, named Diagonal Replication in Mesh (DRM) for data replica control protocol for a large dynamic network by using quorum and voting techniques to improve the availability and the communication cost because quorum techniques reduce the number of copies involved in reading or writing data. The protocol of DRM replicates data for large dynamic network by putting the protocol in a logical mesh structure and access consistent data by ensuring the quorum not to have a nonempty intersection quorum. To evaluate our protocol, we developed a simulation model in Java. Our results proved that DRM improves the performance of the
response time compare to Three Dimensional Grid structure Protocol (TDGS)
