Evaluating the effect of structural dimensions on the successful implementation of strategies in Payam-e-noor University of Iran

    Get PDF
This study aims to assess the relationship between structural dimensions of organization including centralization, complexity and formalization on one side and strategy effectiveness on the other side. Structural dimensions are determined based on Robbins theory, and each of them is considered as independent variables of research. Strategy effectiveness, which includes achieving strategic goals or successful implementation of strategies are the independent variable of the research, based on Noble’s strategy implementation model. One primary thesis and three secondary these are defined. This is a descriptive research of two variable correlation. The target population includes 600 senior managers of Payam-e-noor university around the country, including staff administrative managers, province and unit headmasters, of Iran at the time of data collection. Simple random sampling is used, with sample size of 120. Library resources are used for theoretical foundation data collection and note-taking. Questionnaires are used to collect data and evaluate research theses. Inferential Statistics and Pearson correlation coefficient are used to analyze the research theses. The first two theses are confirmed, at 95% and 99% respectively, but the third thesis is rejected based on the collected data. Therefore, based on this study, complexity and formalization have respectively inverse and direct effect on strategy effectiveness, but centralization does not affect strategy effectiveness in Payam-e-noor University

The Effect of Quadriceps Kinesio Tape on Functional Disability, Pain, and Knee Joint Position Sense in Knee Osteoarthritis Patients

Introduction: Osteoarthritis is one of the most common joint and musculoskeletal problems, particularly within the knee joint, which causes functional disability and impaired proprioception. The aim of the present study was to study the effect of quadriceps kinesio tape on functional disability, pain, and knee joint position sense in females suffering from osteoarthritis of the knee. Methods and Materials: A total of 38 females suffering from knee osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to either the control group (n=19) or kinesio tape group (n=19). The extent of pain was measured using a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), the extent of functional disability was measured using Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), and the absolute error of reconstructing the active angle in 30 and 60 degrees of knee flexion was measured using an inclinometer. The results were analyzed using independent sample t-test to compare the treatment groups before the treatment and paired sample t-test to compare the groups before and immediately after the treatment. Results: In the kinesio tape group, a statistically significant improvement was observed in the reconstruction of the joint sense position at 30 and 60 angles of knee flexion before and after treatment (P<0.0001). However, there no statistically significant difference was observed in the control group at 30° and at 60°. Moreover, the results from the VAS and WOMAC tests revealed no statistically significant difference between the control and kinesio tape groups. Conclusion: The quadriceps kinesio tape improves knee joint position sense in patients with knee osteoarthritis, but it does not cause significant changes in their pain and functional ability.Key Words: Functional disability; Joint position sense; Kinesio tape; Knee osteoarthrit

Rheological Properties Of Asphalt Binders, Performance And Sustainability Of Warm-Mix Asphalt Incorporating Sasobit®

Pavement construction consumes a significant amount of depleting non-renewable natural resources, including asphalt binder and aggregate and energy. Therefore, new and cost-effective technologies in the pavement construction are required to be fewer dependants on the non-renewable natural sources, such as energy and materials. One of such technologies is warm mixture asphalt (WMA). One of additives used to produce WMA is a type of synthetic wax called Sasobit®. In this thesis, overall results of rheological binder tests indicated that Sasobit® content and asphalt binder type had significant effects on rheological parameters of asphalt binders in terms of viscosity, G*/sin δ, G*sin δ, asphalt flow, Jnr, percent recovery. The results also indicated that non-dimensional viscosity index (Sη∇), non-dimensional Superpave™ rutting factor (NSRP) and threshold of non-Newtonian flow (TNF) were useful parameters to explain the changes of rheological properties of Sasobit®-modified asphalt binders influenced by different conditions such as aging, test temperature and shear rate. For example, analysis of Sη∇ indicated the relative viscosity of the binder sample reduces by 7% for every 1% Sasobit® content added. At higher temperatures ranging from 150°C to 160°C, the value of ∇ηS reduces to 4.1%. The general outputs of mixture performance tests showed that performance of Sasobit®-WMA samples in terms of indirect tensile strength, resilient modulus, creep stiffness and cumulative micro-strains depended on Sasobit® content, construction and testing temperatures. Although aggregate supplied from different sources can be the same type with similiar properties such as specific gravity, their specific heat capacity coefficient (C) can be very different

Effect of marketing knowledge management on organizational performance: A Case study in Iran insurance of Kermanshah

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of marketing knowledge management on organizational performance of Iranshahr Insurance of Kermanshah. For this purpose, 82 employees of this company were selected with the use of simple random sampling method and responded to self-made questionnaire of the research. The obtained data from these questionnaires were analyzed by using two-variable regression test. The results indicated that assets and capabilities of marketing knowledge management have significant effect (p<0.01) on general performance, market-related performance, customers’ performance and financial performance of Iranshahr Insurance company of Kermanshah

Observer-based controller synthesis for model-based fuzzy systems via linear matrix inequalities

In this chapter, we extend some recent results regarding the stability of continuous-time and discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems to the case where the system’s states are not available for measurement. We introduce the notion of a fuzzy observer, and show that the separation of closed-loop observer/controller holds. In other words, we show that the observer and controller design problems can be formulated as two separate LMI feasibility problems. Finally, we present a numerical example to show the effectiveness of our approach and discuss some future research directions
