    The impact of human capital outsourcing on human capital management practices in Karachi pharmaceutical industry

    Purpose: The aim of this research is to examine relationship between Human Capital Management (HRM) and Human Resource (HR) Outsourcing in the Pharmaceutical sector. The specific objective is to find out that how important is HRM for an Organization to perform its operations more efficiently, and at what level Human Resource Outsourcing is affecting it. Literature review: Literature review shows that HR outsourcing has positive impact on HRM for an Organization to perform its operations more efficiently. Methods: In order to conduct this research the methodology that has been used is quantitative in nature and closed ended Questionnaire was used to collect data. The universe of study was the employees of Pharmaceutical industry in Karachi Pakistan. The responses of each respondent were thoroughly analyzed by using SPSS software, and the results show that there is a negative relationship between the Human Capital Management (Gaining Knowledge, Current Trend of Business Environment, Organization Managing Their Human Asset and Practices and Policies Regarding Human Resource) and HR Outsourcing. Conclusions: It is concluded that all Independent Variables have the strongest Positive correlation with each other. There are lots of constraints, which any organization faces in terms of time, finance and, in some cases factors like strategic focus.Human Capital Management, Karachi, Pharmaceutical, Outsourcing

    Factors for extending e-government adoption in Jordan

    This article establishes an e-government adoption structure to survey the mediating roles of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), & trust, as well as the moderating role of transparency, in citizens' adoption of e-government services in the Jordanian public sector institutes. A quantitative approach using the questionnaire method was employed to test this model. Based on a snowball sampling, 423 questionnaires were staff of public universities in Jordan. Structural Equation Modelling was used to analyze the data. The findings show that PU and PEOU have a significant impact on service quality (SQ). Furthermore, PU, PEOU has a significant association with the adoption of e-government. More likely, the study found a link between SQ and e-government adoption through PU and PEOU. Also; trust plays a mediating role among PEOU and e-government adoption. It also shows that accountability enhances the PEOU’s commitment to e-government adoption. This article adds to e-government analysis from a theoretical as well as practical viewpoint. Theoretically, this research established a conceptual context for a greater understanding of e-government implementation in Jordanian public universities. Nonetheless, this article provides a comprehensive review of the acute causes for e-government adoption to provide practical input to Jordanian decision-makers on how to convince Jordanians to embrace e-government

    Digital marketing effect to intention to domestic tourism during COVID-19 in Jordan

    The pandemic COVID-19 proved as a great challenge for today world. The “Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan” timely control it due it’s aggressive actions against pandemic COVID-19, in contrast with other “MENA” countries. Where the government encouraged domestic tourism to reduce the burden on this sector. The purpose of this study is to lay emphasis on the Jordan domestic tourism in light of the investigation as to how digital marketing influence intention to domestic tourism with the moderating role of price, and the role of mediator perceived ease of use (PEOU). In order to achieve the objective, the study has adopted quantitative technique of analysis. The study has initially collected the primary data through questionnaire. The data were collected from 377 respondents (customers want to do domestic tourism) by using a convenience sampling technique. In the second step the collected data is analyzed by using statistical tools i.e. SPSS and AMOS. The outcomes of the “structural equation modeling”, concluded that digital marketing has significant relationship with PEOU and intentions to domestic tourism. Moreover; PEOU has a significant relationship with intentions to domestic tourism. Additionally, the PEOU also work as a mediating factor in association between the digital marketing, and intention to domestic tourism. Hypothesis on moderation effects were not justified. The outcomes of such study are useful to the domestic tourism industry for identifying tourists' needs during COVID-19 pandemic

    Intermolecular Bonding Study of Bituminous Material using Compositional Analysis

    Bitumen is amorphous, black-coloured visco-elastic material, composed principally of hydrocarbons having high molecular weight characterized by “asphaltenes, resins and oils”. Investigation on the composition of Bitumen having same grade taken from different Refineries i.e., NRL, ARL as Virgin Binder (VB) and RAP (extracted from the pavement). Also the careful examination of the Intermolecular Bonding of the Bitumen Microstructure by a review of studies and correlation with its composition. In research methodology, firstly SARA analysis was performed by Column chromatography on each type of bitumen. Secondly, microstructure intermolecular bonding was investigated theoretically from the literature of methods Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), ESEM etc. and its critical analysis was conducted. From the research results, it has been found out that there are solid and liquid phases having different percentage compositions of the bitumen that are Saturate, Aromatic, Resin, and Asphaltenes (SARA) according to their polarizability and polarity of each type of bitumen. Asphaltene is a solid phase while the other three are in liquid phases that are basically taken from Maltene. Then Compared SARA Results of VB with RAP. Data obtained from compositional analysis of asphalt help us to handle the problems related the stability of bitumen structure. While microstructure intermolecular bonding study theoretically from the literature using techniques like SEM, ESEM etc. helped to understand the internal nature of the bitumen when it is aged, unaged and modified by many modifiers like CNF, SBS, SBR latex fibre etc

    Managerial Attributes Effect on Mutual Fund Performance: Case from Pakistan, an Emerging Mutual Fund Market

    This paper investigates the effect of managerial attributes like, age of manager, qualification of manager, experience of manager, age of fund and management fee on performance of mutual funds. For this purpose open ended equity funds of 19 assets management companies with a data set ranging from 2010 to 2014 is taken. Fixed effect panel regression is used to control the unobserved heterogeneity between the assets management companies. Results reveal that managers qualification, age, total experience in mutual fund industry are positively and significantly related to performance of funds whereas, age of fund is negatively related to fund performance. Secondly, explanatory variable, management fee is not related to performance of mutual fund in Pakistan

    Enhancement of Extender Excellence of Frozen Bull Semen Using α-Tocopherol as an Antioxidant

    Background: Addition of the antioxidant to extender media is the most appropriate attempt to reduce structural losses encounter during the process of cryopreservation. Hence semen excellence could be maintained for longer duration without adverse impact. Additionally antioxidants are not only capturing the reactive oxygen species but also improve the sperm quality indicators and fertility. Accordingly, current elucidation has been executed to explore the dose depended appraisal of varied concentration of α-tocopherol in Tris-based extender on frozen-thawed bull semen quality parameters for enhancement of bull semen cryopreservation in the subtropical ecosystem of Peshawar.Materials, Methods & Results: Experiments were carried out on semen that has been collected from both Achai-an indigenous breed and Holstein Friesian (HF) - the exotic breed in artificial vagina maintained at 42°C from the experimental bulls of either breed and processed independently breed wise. Semen specimens with above 70% motility were evaluated separately breed-wise under same environmental condition. Standard procedure was adopted to extend the collected semen in the experimental extenders and frozen subsequently. After thawing, further Analysis of the frozen straws of semen was carried out for sperm excellence indicators that include motility, viability, acrosomal integrity and functional integrity of spermatozoa under the subtropical condition. Sperm viability and acrosomal integrity were determined by dual staining procedure i.e. Trypan-blue and Giemsa stains. The hypo-osmotic swelling (HOS) test was used to assess plasma membrane integrity. The current elucidation demonstrated that α-tocopherol 1.5 mg/mL supplemented in extender had significantly (P < 0.05) increased sperm excellence gauge that includes motility, viability, acrosomal integrity and functional membrane integrity in both the breeds. On the other hand, the result further elucidated those concentrations higher or lower than 1.5-1 mg/mL α-tocopherol supplemented in the present study resulted in a lower semen functional attributes subsequent to freezing.Discussion: Biological samples were preserved by various methods such cryopreservation at low temperature to maintain them intact and facilitate downstream experiments. Antioxidants were associated with the chemical breakage of the substrate consequential from oxidation and counterbalance the free radicals thus diminish the damaging impacts to spermatozoa in cryopreservation. There is lack of data with respect to lipid peroxidation and cell reinforcement limit in cryopreserved semen, and cryopreservation is related with the generation of receptive oxygen species (ROS) which lead to lipid peroxidation (LPO) of sperm membranes, bringing about lost motility, viability and fertility of sperm. Recently, in the reproductive management of the dairy animals, an important focus of research is to overcome the deleterious impact associated with semen cryopreservation. Elucidation of differential dose depended expression of α-tocopherol in semen extender has been evident in this study. The results were corroborated with diverse mammalian species under varied ecological management setups. Furthermore the detrimental impact of high doses of α-tocopherol in the semen extender has been demonstrated. It was deduced from the current finding that addition of α-tocopherol via dose depended approach in Tri extender enhanced the cryosurvivability of both Achai indigenous breed and HF the exotic breed, under existing reproductive management in the local ecosystem of Peshawar

    Improving Machine Learning Classification Accuracy for Breathing Abnormalities by Enhancing Dataset

    The recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), also known as coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, has appeared as a global pandemic with a high mortality rate. The main complication of COVID-19 is rapid respirational deterioration, which may cause life-threatening pneumonia conditions. Global healthcare systems are currently facing a scarcity of resources to assist critical patients simultaneously. Indeed, non-critical patients are mostly advised to self-isolate or quarantine themselves at home. However, there are limited healthcare services available during self-isolation at home. According to research, nearly 20–30% of COVID patients require hospitalization, while almost 5–12% of patients may require intensive care due to severe health conditions. This pandemic requires global healthcare systems that are intelligent, secure, and reliable. Tremendous efforts have been made already to develop non-contact sensing technologies for the diagnosis of COVID-19. The most significant early indication of COVID-19 is rapid and abnormal breathing. In this research work, RF-based technology is used to collect real-time breathing abnormalities data. Subsequently, based on this data, a large dataset of simulated breathing abnormalities is generated using the curve fitting technique for developing a machine learning (ML) classification model. The advantages of generating simulated breathing abnormalities data are two-fold; it will help counter the daunting and time-consuming task of real-time data collection and improve the ML model accuracy. Several ML algorithms are exploited to classify eight breathing abnormalities: eupnea, bradypnea, tachypnea, Biot, sighing, Kussmaul, Cheyne–Stokes, and central sleep apnea (CSA). The performance of ML algorithms is evaluated based on accuracy, prediction speed, and training time for real-time breathing data and simulated breathing data. The results show that the proposed platform for real-time data classifies breathing patterns with a maximum accuracy of 97.5%, whereas by introducing simulated breathing data, the accuracy increases up to 99.3%. This work has a notable medical impact, as the introduced method mitigates the challenge of data collection to build a realistic model of a large dataset during the pandemic
