Methods for characterising microphysical processes in plasmas

    Get PDF
Advanced spectral and statistical data analysis techniques have greatly contributed to shaping our understanding of microphysical processes in plasmas. We review some of the main techniques that allow for characterising fluctuation phenomena in geospace and in laboratory plasma observations. Special emphasis is given to the commonalities between different disciplines, which have witnessed the development of similar tools, often with differing terminologies. The review is phrased in terms of few important concepts: self-similarity, deviation from self-similarity (i.e. intermittency and coherent structures), wave-turbulence, and anomalous transport.Comment: Space Science Reviews (2013), in pres

Cell-associated lipopolysaccharides (LPS) were extracted by the phenol-chloroform-petroleum ether extraction method (PCP) from a nopaline strain of Agrobacterium vitis, purified by treatment with DNase/RNase, proteinase K and dialysis, characterized by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and bioassayed on grapevine shoot nodal segments. LPS preparation used for the experiments in planta was a mixture of rough-type LPS, obtained from precipitation with water after PCP-extraction, and some smooth- and rough-type LPS from the remaining phenol phase. Infiltration of an aqueous dispersion of the mixture in concentrations of 25-1000 µ g.ml-1 did not cause grapevine tissue necrosis, and callus formed within one month. When the LPS dispersions were infiltrated in the grapevine nodal segments, 24 h before challenge inoculation with A. vitis (5x102 cells per 5 µ l droplet), they prevented tumorgenesis and tissue necrosis; but, when the pathogen was inoculated at a higher concentration (5x105 cells per 5 CII droplet), these LS applications were active in protecting plant tissue from necrosis and did not prevent tumor induction. The potential role of LPS as candidate molecules in the protection of grapevine from A. vitis infection is discussed

The results of the study and systematization of literary research on the problems of geopoetics as a direction in Russian literary criticism are presented in this review article. The relevance of the study is seen in the need to comprehend and systematize the accumulated literary experience in the field of the geopoetic paradigm of literary research. The scope of work identified in the research process is an indicator of a growing scientific interest in the aforementioned problems. In the study of the material, it was shown that the theoretical component of the work is the study of the nature of the geopoetic image, which is understood as the artistic image of the geographical space as a natural, historical-cultural and value-semantic unity. The works representing geopoetic regional models (“texts”) of Russian literature: northern, Crimean, Altai, Ural, Far Eastern, sacred are identified and substantively characterized in the article. The analyzed material allowed us to present a generalized artistic structure of the geopoetic model of the region, including mythopoetic images, natural history and historical-cultural realities, historical aspects of the formation of geopoetic representations, folklore and literary texts. The study represents geopoetic research as a systematic scientific direction uniting scientists from different regions of Russia and having formed within its borders a methodology and scientific tools for identifying and analyzing the geopoetic content of Russian literature. The systematization of the material presented in this article will help create a clear picture of the theoretical and historical-scientific development of the problem

The story “The Bird of God” (2018), the work of the Far Eastern writer Tatyana Innokentyevna Gladkikh (born 1952), is reviewed in the article. The scientific novelty of the study is that the prose of Gladkikh was not a subject of comprehension in literary criticism. The relevance of this work is due to the importance of studying regional (Far Eastern) literature, which is a necessary condition for the formation of an integral picture of the domestic historical and literary process. The article presents the results of the immanent analysis of the story; attention is paid to issues of the plot, value content, figuratively motivational nature; the typology of the hero is traced and the typological parallel between the image of the hero of the story and the hero of medieval life - Alexy, the man of God, is justified. It is revealed that the hero of the story embodies the “hagiographic” type of world attitude, which manifests itself in a sense of universality with all living things, love, compassion. Particular attention is paid to the “homecoming” motive, which is seen as central in the plot-storyline and value-semantic organization of the work, and also acts as the organizing principle in the motive complex of the story, combining the images of “wandering”, “house”, “memory”, “soul”. The article traces how the “homecoming” motive is realized at three levels of organization of the artistic structure of the text: storyline, subjective and existential

Transformation of the mechanism for increasing the investment potential of the territories of Russia in the context of the COVID-2019 pandemic repeatedly strengthens the importance of an active policy in the field of forming the concept of promoting territories in general and in particular in the interregional market of tourist services. In the current conditions of the pandemic, fundamentally new goals and objectives of regional policy create the basis for the search for new tools and technologies in the field of promoting territories in the interregional market of tourist services. At the heart of formation of the concept of promoting the territory in the market of tourist services lies the effective use of its tourist potential and formation of inter-organizational relations in the tourist-recreational network of the territory, which contributes to an increase in the attractiveness of a city, a region on the inter-regional market of tourist services. When forming the concept of promoting domestic regions in the interregional tourism services market, in addition to the consequences of the pandemic, it is necessary to take into account the current long-term trends: insufficient popularization of domestic territories in the tourism services market. The unsatisfactory quality of tourist services provided is confirmed by the contribution of tourism to the gross domestic product of the Russian Federation, which amounted to only 5.0% in 2019, with an average global value of this indicator of 10.2%.La transformación del mecanismo para aumentar el potencial de inversión de los territorios de Rusia en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-2019 refuerza repetidamente la importancia de una política activa en el campo de la formación del concepto de promoción de territorios en general y en particular en el mercado interregional de servicios turísticos.
