    Novel Framework for Hidden Data in the Image Page within Executable File Using Computation between Advanced Encryption Standard and Distortion Techniques

    The hurried development of multimedia and internet allows for wide distribution of digital media data. It becomes much easier to edit, modify and duplicate digital information. In additional, digital document is also easy to copy and distribute, therefore it may face many threats. It became necessary to find an appropriate protection due to the significance, accuracy and sensitivity of the information. Furthermore, there is no formal method to be followed to discover a hidden data. In this paper, a new information hiding framework is presented.The proposed framework aim is implementation of framework computation between advance encryption standard (AES) and distortion technique (DT) which embeds information in image page within executable file (EXE file) to find a secure solution to cover file without change the size of cover file. The framework includes two main functions; first is the hiding of the information in the image page of EXE file, through the execution of four process (specify the cover file, specify the information file, encryption of the information, and hiding the information) and the second function is the extraction of the hiding information through three process (specify the stego file, extract the information, and decryption of the information).Comment: 6 Pages IEEE Format, International Journal of Computer Science and Information Security, IJCSIS 2009, ISSN 1947 5500, Impact Factor 0.42

    “Acquired epidermodysplasia verruciformis” in kidney transplant patients

    AbstractBackgroundEpidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) is a well known inherited autosomal recessive skin disease associated with numerous early onset viral warts on the sun exposed parts of the body that usually progress into skin malignancies. Kidney transplant patients are also commonly associated with viral warts that might change into skin cancers.ObjectiveTo describe the clinical pictures of extensive viral warts with skin malignancies in kidney transplant patients in comparison with inherited (EV) features.Patients and methodsThis case controlled study that included 130 patients with kidney transplantation was done in kidney transplantation centers in Baghdad and Al-Karma Teaching Hospitals during December 2002 to September 2004. All recruited patients were receiving multiple immunosuppressive drugs like methyl prednisolone succinate, oral prednisolone, azathioprine and cyclosporine. History was taken from all patients including all the relevant points. These patients were divided into three groups according to the duration of kidney transplant: group A 1–10years, group B 11–20years and group C more than 20years. Biopsies were performed from the viral warts lesions and the associated tumors.Two hundred and sixty apparently healthy individuals, 206 males and 54 females had been examined as control cases for the presence of viral warts and tumors. These control cases had been taken randomly from general population in multiple regions in Baghdad.ResultsSixty-five patients out of 130 with kidney transplantation had viral warts. Their ages ranged from 20 to 71 (45.49±SD 10.82) years, 51 males and 14 females, while the duration of the warts ranged from 0.5 to 10 (3.74±SD 2.67) years. The distribution of patients with viral warts among the groups was as follows: group A 28 (43.1%), group B 30 (46.2%) and group C 7 (10.7%) cases. Viral warts were seen in 10 (3.8%) of the control group. There were statistically significant differences between patients and control cases (P value <0.001). Most of the viral warts in patients with kidney transplantation were multiple and of the verrucae vulgaris type. They were mainly located on the exposed areas of the body, mostly on the face and dorsa of hands.Skin malignancies were observed in 6 (9.2%) cases: five squamous cell carcinomas and one case of basal cell carcinoma. Squamous cell carcinoma was mainly located on the lower lips in 3 cases and 2 on the dorsa of hands, while basal cell carcinoma was observed on the nose. Two cases (7.1%) of squamous cell carcinoma were seen in group A, 2 (6.6%) in group B and 1 (14%) in group C. One case of basal cell carcinoma was noted in group B .No skin malignancy was observed in the control group.ConclusionKidney transplant patients have an increased susceptibility to infection with human papilloma virus and have served as a model for viral induced carcinogenesis. This collection of features deserves the term “acquired epidermodysplasia verruciformis”

    An overview of public transport reliability studies using a bibliometric analysis

    Reliability in public transport is considered one of the most critical features to evaluate the service quality from the perspective of passengers, operators, and the community. Several studies have been published about public transport reliability. However, there are an absence of comprehensive and quantitative studies. Furthermore, only nine reviews related to public transport reliability have been published on the Web of Science (WOS) database. The current review was conducted to enrich researchers and practitioners with the update of public transport reliability publications through the last 15 years (during 2005–2021) to fulfil their concerns and answer their public transport reliability questions. This Bibliometric analysis aims to illustrate the concept of transportation reliability, highlight its lack of uncovered studies, and provide an overview of the most productive countries, journals, institutions in transportation reliability publications to support future studies and cooperation. A bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviwer software analysis the public transport reliability publications obtained from the WOS database to enable researchers to trace the historical and annual records of publications related to reliability covering the leading countries, institutions, journals, most frequently used keywords, authors, citation network analysis and the most cited publications.     Experimental Investigation of the Effect of Radial Gap and Impeller Blade Exit on Flow-Induced Vibration at the Blade-Passing Frequency in a Centrifugal Pump

    It has been recognized that the pressure pulsation excited by rotor-stator interaction in large pumps is strongly influenced by the radial gap between impeller and volute diffusers/tongues and the geometry of impeller blade at exit. This fluid-structure interaction phenomenon, as manifested by the pressure pulsation, is the main cause of flow-induced vibrations at the blade-passing frequency. In the present investigation, the effects of the radial gap and flow rate on pressure fluctuations, vibration, and pump performance are investigated experimentally for two different impeller designs. One impeller has a V-shaped cut at the blade's exit, while the second has a straight exit (without the V-cut). The experimental findings showed that the high vibrations at the blade-passing frequency are primarily raised by high pressure pulsation due to improper gap design. The existence of V-cut at blades exit produces lower pressure fluctuations inside the pump while maintaining nearly the same performance. The selection of proper radial gap for a given impeller-volute combination results in an appreciable reduction in vibration levels

    Ultrastructure of antennal sensillae of the samsum ant, Pachycondyla sennaarensis (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

    Black ant (Samsum), Pachycodyla sennarrensis, stings and injects venom and inflicts allergy (a rare clinical problem) due to its local and systemic reaction, which is considered as a health hazard amongst Saudi society. Thus, black ant is a source of serious concern for the government and experts as well.  Ultramorphological variations, distribution, differential sensillae counts (DSC) and total sensillae counts (TSC), were identified and estimated as a complementary part of the peripheral nervous system on the antennae of worker samsum ant, P. sennarrensis in order to understand its behavioral ecology. Based on scanning electron micrographs, four types of sensillae constituted with three trichoid types, which is an abundant form with a high distribution density at the apex, but a low density at subsequent proximal flagellomere of the antenna and a placoid type of sensillae (a rare form mostly found in the middle of the flagellum, that is, on the 4th, 5th and 6th flagellomere) were categorised. It is documented that nonporous trichoid type of sensillae are mechanoreceptors and thermoreceptors, whereas, the placoid types are olfactory receptors. Present findings in an indigenous species in Saudi Arabia may help in understanding the ecological behaviour of the ant, which subsequently may form the basis in producing its effective control measure in future.Key words: Samsum ants, Pachycondyla sennarrensis, ultrastructure, antenna, sensillae

    Environmental isotonicity improves cold tolerance of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus, in Egypt

    AbstractThe limited ability of Oreochromis niloticus to tolerate low temperatures during winter in temperate and some subtropical region, such as in Egypt, is of major economic concern. The present study was aimed to improve the cold tolerance of Nile tilapia, O. niloticus, by using the well documented phenomena of saving energy consumption for osmoregulation in isotonic medium to decrease the physiological response to cold stress at winter months and may solve the Winter Stress Syndrome (WSS) and the over-wintering problems. Fish which were either pre-acclimated to freshwater or isotonic salinity at 25°C were transferred directly to freshwater or isotonic medium (12‰) at 14°C. Fish were killed 3, 6, 24, 48, 72 and 168h after transfer. In the isotonic medium pre-acclimated fish, it is shown that the effect of cold stress on the increment of plasma glucose level was much lower than that in fresh water. From the observations of Na+, K+, Mg2+-ATPase enzyme activity we conclude that less disturbance of ionic balance caused by cold tolerance was occurred in the isotonic point water than in the fresh water. The results of the acetylcholinesterase specific activity showed that, brain enzyme was inhibited by cold stress, and that the disruption of the cholinergic function induced by cold stress was much more pronounced in fresh water pre-acclimated tilapia than in isotonic point water pre-acclimated fish. Results from this study recommend that pre-acclimation of Nile tilapia, O. niloticus, to an environmental salinity close to the isotonicity, before winter onset, may improve their cold tolerance

    AbstractFour experimental regimes were designed to test the capacity of the Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus to make use of the energy saved form osmoregulation in an isotonic medium in overcoming the Winter Stress Syndrome (WSS). Fish either pre- acclimated to freshwater or isotonic salinity at 25°C were transferred directly to freshwater or an isotonic medium (ca. 12‰) at 14°C. Fish were killed 3, 6, 24, 48, 72 and 168h after transfer. The mobilisation and use of lipids from perivisceral and muscle fat observed in the study seem to be a direct response to cold stress as well as the associated fasting, these effects were salinity dependent being lesser at the isotonic salinity. The energy needs of fish diminish in cold conditions when the salinity of the environment approaches the isotonicity. The absence of any significant changes in muscle and water content indicated that the changes of muscle lipid are true and lipid was the sole source of energy upon thermal drop. The changes of blood haemoglobin levels throughout the four experimental regimes may indicate that the isotonic medium acclimated tilapia showed less haematological disturbance due to cold stress. Results from this experimental study recommend that the pre-acclimation of the Egyptian strain of Nile tilapia, O. niloticus, to an environmental salinity close to the isotonicity may improve fish cold tolerance
