    Numerical Solution of Seventh-Order Boundary Value Problems by a Novel Method

    We demonstrate the efficiency of reproducing kernel Hilbert space method on the seventh-order boundary value problems satisfying boundary conditions. These results have been compared with the results that are obtained by variational iteration method (VIM), homotopy perturbation method (HPM), Adomian decomposition method (ADM), variation of parameters method (VPM), and homotopy analysis method (HAM). Obtained results show that our method is very effective

    The Yo-Yo IR2 test in professional basketball players

    The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between direct method and indirect method (Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level II) that are used to determine aerobic capacity and endurance. Fourteen basketball players (22.49 ±04.82 year-old with the height 192.36±5.90 cm, weight 89.21±7.6 kg, Body fat percentage 11.07 ± 1.82 %) voluntarily participated in this study. Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level II protocol (YIRT 2) was implemented to participants. Distance covered by the athletes, estimated VO2max, direct VO2max, Anaerobic threshold VO2 and Anaerobic threshold heart rate (HRAT) values were recorded. Direct VO2max and other respiratory parameters were measured with telemetric gas analyzer. After 5 minute rest in supine position heart rates (HRrest), rest lactate levels (LArest) and maximal heart rate (HRmax) during the test and post test lactate levels (LApost) were measured. Pearson Correlation Test was used to determine the relationship between the variables. P value was set at 0,05. According to the findings, positively significant large correlation was found between estimated VO2max and direct VO2max(r = 0.504, p < 0.05), HRmax (r = 0.501, p < 0.05), positively significant large correlation was found between distance and Direct VO2max(r = 0.521, p < 0.05), HRmax (r = 0.516, p < 0.05). There is no significant relationship except above-mentioned variables (p<0.05). YIRT2 can guess VO2max of professional male basketball players and can be used to evaluate endurance

    Sclerosing sialadenitis of the sublingual salivary glands in a cat

    In this report, sclerosing sialadenitis of the sublingual salivary glands is described in a three-yearold, male, mixed breed cat. Sublingual masses were dissected and removed under dissociative anaesthesia. The patient had recovered completely at two months post-surgery. The two soft and pale red masses were 1.5 x 1 x 0.5 cm in size. Histologically, it was observed that the masses were covered with stratified squamous epithelium containing large numbers of salivary glands and ducts in the collagen-rich loose connective tissue. Scattered lymphocyte infiltrations were observed in the connective tissue. Mild to severe lymphocyte infiltration was seen between salivary glands. Some glands exhibited severe fibrosis, epithelial destruction and atrophy. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of sclerosing sialadenitis in a cat. Chronic sclerosing sialadenitis (Kuttner's tumour) is a condition that has been defined in humans. Histological findings similar to those of Kuttner's tumour were observed in this case, and dense plasma cell infiltrations suggested immune-mediated plasmacytic disease, which has been reported as a potential aetiology of Kuttner's tumour. Corticosteroid therapy was not attempted, and the patient was treated successfully using surgical excision

Sonyıllarda sürdürülebilir kalkınma eğitimi, araştırmalarda ve öğretimprogramlarında önem yer tutmaya başlamıştır. Türkiye’de sürdürülebilirkalkınmaya yönelik eğitime, öğretmenlik lisans programlarında ve ilköğretim fenbilimleri dersi öğretim programlarında önemli yer verilmektedir. Mevcutçalışmada, ortaokul 8. sınıf öğrencilerin sürdürülebilir kalkınma konusunailişkin farkındalıklarını belirlemek üzere çevresel, ekonomik ve toplumsalboyutları olan “Sürdürülebilir Yaşama Yönelik Farkındalık Ölçeği” (SYYFÖ)geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. SYYFÖ’nin maddelerinin yazımında; alan yazınincelenmesi ve uzman görüşlerinden yararlanılmış ve güvenirlik ve geçerlikanalizleri için 319 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Güvenirlik ve geçerlikanalizleri için betimsel analizler, madde analizi, açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcıfaktör analizi, iç tutarlılık katsayısı Croanbach Alfa hesaplanmıştır. Sonuç olarak,araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen SYYFÖ üçlü likert tipinde hazırlanmış olup,20 madde içermektedir. SYYFÖ’nin yapısı; çevre boyutu 7 maddeden, ekonomiboyutu 5 maddeden ve toplumsal boyutu 8 maddeden oluşturulmuştur.     Maximization of Solar Radiation for Fixed and Tracking Surfaces in Antalya Province of Türkiye

    Solar energy has gained increasing importance in today\u27s world and become a viable primary energy source in the recent decade. Solar radiation obtained by the solar surface is highly affected by its orientation, azimuth, and tilt angles. Therefore, in this study, the performances of the fixed-axis system, one-axis, and two-axis solar tracking systems are investigated to enable maximal solar radiation in solar systems to be installed in Antalya by using climatic and latitude data provided by NASA. Furthermore, the optimal tilt angles are determined by examining the values of angles for which the total solar radiation falling on the tilted surface is maximal. The case study and measurement data investigations are conducted for the four districts of Antalya. The obtained radiation values throughout the year for one-axis and two-axis solar tracking systems are compared to an annual fixed system for evaluating the existing solar potential in Antalya province. Besides all these, solar system cost analyses including the average payback period for residential, commercial, and large-scale solar systems based on LCOE are investigated. The proposed methodology can be implemented for performance and cost analysis of the solar potential in a certain location of Türkiye and extended to any place in the world
