Then on interest of the junior secondary school's female students in sport is becoming a recurring-decimal and something urgent needs to be done to nip it in the bud if any meaningful stride is to be achieved in terms of catching them young at that level and this may not be achieved if the authorities concerned are not proactive. Based on the foregoing, Suggestions were made to the effect that Government should come up with a clearly formulated policy on sports that would engender greater participation among junior secondary school female students through improved funding, provision of sports facilities, and the need to package the sports activities in such a way that would meet the need and interest of the students as individuals and group. INADEQUATE TRAINING OF P.E TEACHERS AND DEARTH OF EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES AS PREDICTORS OF INEFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS OF NGOR-OKPALALGA OF IMO STATE
This study was carried out with a view to examining the effect of inadequate training of P.E teachers and the dearth of equipment and facilities as predictors for ineffective teaching and learning of physical education in public primary schools in Ngor-Okpala LGA, ImoState.The descriptive survey research design was used for the study. A total of one hundred(100)respondents selected from ten(10) PublicPrimarySchools that cut across the local government was used for the study. The instrument employed was a questionnaire while the statistical analysis was carried out using chi-square to test the hypotheses at 0.5 level of significance. The findings revealed that training of P.E teachers is key in the teaching and learning of PE in public primary schools while the provision of equipment and facilities is germane and will go a long way in helping to facilitate effective teaching and learning of PE in public primary schools.  
Factors Associated With Poor Performance Of Students In Physical Education Subject In Junior Secondary Schools In Rivers State
In recent time, the performance of students in physical education subject at the junior secondary school level is not encouraging most especially in Rivers State and this may not be unconnected with the attitude of school authorities, parents and government who may not see any good in the subject. Given the fact that physical education not only provide a sound mind in a sound body but an avenue to discover and nurture world class athletes and leaders, the need to provide an enabling environment for the subject to thrive at the junior secondary school level becomes imperative. Therefore, the study examines the factors associated with poor performance of students in Physical education subject in junior secondary schools in Rivers State, Nigeria
