Amazigh Language Use on Social Media: An Exploratory Study

This paper aimed to investigate Moroccan Amazighs’ use of the Amazigh language on social media and the various aspects of Amazigh’s presence on these platforms. The study was carried out following a descriptive research design whereby data were collected by way of a large-scale online survey. A sample of one-thousand informants was randomly selected from all over Morocco based on several social variables, including sex, age, education, and region of belonging. Data analysis revealed that the Tifinagh script is less used compared to Latin and Arabic in which the language is highly present on social media platforms. It was also found that Amazigh is greatly used in chatting and that Moroccans highly interact with Amazigh-related content on Amazigh public pages and groups on social networking websites. The survey respondents accordingly showed remarkable satisfaction with social media content published in Amazigh. The analysis also demonstrated that Amazigh social media users are particularly interested in topics pertinent to the fields of history, culture, and art. It was yet discovered that Moroccans view the use of Amazigh on social networking sites as an effective alternative for promoting and improving the language. The study calls for upholding and ameliorating online Amazigh language use, as well as extending its scope by adopting digitization policies centering on the prominence of Tifinagh.

Sediment samples used in this work were taken from two different sites (maturation pond of Boujaad lagunage and fry pond of the Deroua fish farm) in order to understand and compare the conditions affecting phosphate exchanges across water-sediment interface. This study showed a difference in the chemical composition of the two sediments. In the fry pond, the majority of the phosphate was present as inorganic phosphate (92.5%), especially in forms bound to calcium. On the other hand, total phosphate was divided equally into organic (49.2%) and inorganic (49.8%) phosphorus in the maturation pond. In this pond, phosphate solubility increased in the interstitial water under anoxic conditions. The phosphate released came principally from the inorganic fraction, particularly from Fe(OOH)-P. The maturation pond sediments, which had accumulated much organic matter, liberated more orthophosphate than did the fry pond sediments. Under air flushing, phosphate adsorption is significant particularly in the maturation and fry pond sediments

This study focuses on the poetics of space in Un oued, pour la mémoire by Fatéma Bakhaï. Drawing on the works of Mircea Eliade, it considers the spaces described in the text sacred spaces and, consequently, significant and symbolic. These spaces are also repositories of experiences and collective memories which contribute to recreating History. Finally, the use of original and eschatological myths is a means through which the author reflects on social reality, produces criticism, and even announces changes

Geochemical and isotopic investigations were carried out to indicate the interaction process between Ifni Lake water and high valley of Tifnoute springs. A total of 18 water samples were collected and analyzed. The Ifni Lake constitutes a veritable water resource in the study area, and this water can be the origin of alimentation the springs located in the high valley the Tifnoute. This study aims to improve the interaction between Ifni Lake water and the springs of high valley of Tifnoute. It is mainly focused to identify the origin of groundwater recharge and mineralization. The environmental isotope (deuterium (δ2H) and oxygen-18 (δ18O)) measurements allowed understanding the hydro geochemical process, the origin of the mineralization of the water. Also the results identify the relationship between the waters of Ifni Lake and the spring's water of high valley of Tifnoute. The isotopic compositions reveal that the origin of Ifni Lake water is meteoric, and the water infiltrates directly in the groundwater without any evaporation
